As she leaves, the whole thing collapses. "Sunday" was the perfect song to use in that scene because of it being that ominous.

So whenever I hear this song it reminds me of that Daria episode

@takerdemon the dudes in pavement were about 20 years ahead of their time. perhaps no band since the velvets were as far ahead of their time. dont get turned off with songs like major leagues or gold soundz. dig deeper than that. steve malkmus was a genius who satirized the pumpkins in a song. no one in the 90s was anywhere near the level of songwriting genius of steven malkmus imo....and oh yea, a lot of his songs are actually uplifting unlike the 'woe is me' approach of the pumpkins

However, there are plenty of uplifting songs in the Pumpkin locker but still, nothing wrong with 'woe is me' songs; they both have a place and both are as relevant as one another. Because one has more 'happy' songs than the other doesn't make them better or worse. If I want happy Billy Corgan, I just chuck on the Zwan album.
