@metroidM1A1 they are both running the latest firmware galaxy s is 2.3.4 and xperia10 is 2.3.3. The only thing I dont like about xperia x10 is the touchscreen, its semi multitouch and you can't play some new games :( They are both good phones though.

I really like all of them...I have Xperia x10...which is really sick phone!! I love it in all ways....My GF..she's got Galaxy S...that phone is also sick, but the one she's got is slow and sometimes it LAG to much....which my Xperia never does!!
But I think, that all of those phones are TOP...but I still think that Xperia arc is the best...and I expect NEW GALAXY S to be the KILLER!!...:D

id like to note that these test are strictly for the location and the time of day. 10 minutes later and 4 blocks down the results could be the complete opposite. im not saying that the xperia isnt the fastest but i wouldnt let this test be the deciding factor on which phone you are going to buy

@rayiskon the reason the video stutters on the desire is that most people use the wrong sd card with it. use a class 5 or higher card and you wont get stutter.
@dirtygore well i have a class 10 microsd, furthermore i have a kernel with 128kb readahead buffer, it's better than before,but i still get stutters every now and then. the Desire is not perfect,just live with it ;)
oh,and FYI, there are no class 5 cards,also it's not an sd it's a microsd ;)

Sony ericsson is shit and Nokia doesen't make good phones it was some time ago, their software is way outdated. You say that update with 2.1 is out for SE when all phones started to update to 2.2.

@EgoJoel well if you look it's not about the new software it's about how it transfers data. The samsung galaxy s could probably make an even higher mega flops in this benchmark if it were to use the lag fix. It's HTC's fault in the way the implemented it, the xperia x10 is the slowest of them all

Then again we dont know if this Desire uses Lcd or Amoled. The Amoled screen uses PenTile so the real resuloution is much lower (as for the samsung but it also got better graphics).
@EgoJoel we do know if it's using lcd or amoled. Search it, it's using an LCD. Samsung even states themselves that they barely have enough super amoled for themselves so they're not distributing to competitors so they're going to keep it only for themselves. The thing about samsung galaxy s is that it uses a different path way which i do not know the name of, like something EXT and is inefficient way of transfering data, lag fix, fixes it so transfers are much faster

It's the fastest 1ghz processor out there, even faster then the A4 that the iphone claims is crazy, and A4 was pretty much built by samsung. When i did the bench mark with lag fix, i got 1821

Just pulled 14.429 MFLOPS from Linpack and 55.7 FPS from the Qualcomm's graphic test on my Samsung Galaxy S I9000 running Android 2.2 FROYO (latest release)
mothafuckin fags dont forget that the X10! will get a fuckin update to new android 2.1 and 2.2 with 16.000.000. colors!!! on the video you are seeing X10 with android 1.6 that only recognizes 65k or 650k colors. so after the update x10 will be faster and better then htc and galaxy. the LOOKS are already way BETTER!
@nightubble the desire has 576mb's of ram whilst the galaxy has 512. not an incredible difference but certainly gives the desire a tiny edge. however the combination of the super amoled and the processor in the galaxy s gives it better performance. but on a side note this extra performance is only noticeable in games and the galaxy s suffers greatly with battery life because of these little differences. i would say htc is a better phone but the galaxy s is also great

Sony ericsson is shit and Nokia doesen't make good phones it was some time ago, their software is way outdated. You say that update with 2.1 is out for SE when all phones started to update to 2.2.
And HTC is german not Korean.

if for u the best are just who have the lasted update, than for u a HP computer with a CORE2DUO 2.5 Ghz are more good than a sony vaio with 2.1Ghz? where is the CG, architecture of computer motherboard, screen, bios support of Mhz etc etc.
it's same think with mobile, SE dn't bug, have a stable android, go see bug screen and freez pages in galaxy with 2.2.

@EgoJoel well if you look it's not about the new software it's about how it transfers data. The samsung galaxy s could probably make an even higher mega flops in this benchmark if it were to use the lag fix. It's HTC's fault in the way the implemented it, the xperia x10 is the slowest of them all

Then again we dont know if this Desire uses Lcd or Amoled. The Amoled screen uses PenTile so the real resuloution is much lower (as for the samsung but it also got better graphics).

@EgoJoel we do know if it's using lcd or amoled. Search it, it's using an LCD. Samsung even states themselves that they barely have enough super amoled for themselves so they're not distributing to competitors so they're going to keep it only for themselves. The thing about samsung galaxy s is that it uses a different path way which i do not know the name of, like something EXT and is inefficient way of transfering data, lag fix, fixes it so transfers are much faster

It gives you lower resulution and making it harder to read texts (It gets all blurred out).
The 480x320 screen doesnt use pentile but the 800x480 screens does.

@EgoJoel i dont see any pictures of samsung having pentile problems. I personally have it and everything is crystal clear, but i didn't like the way the iphones felt unsaturated, and that's why i went for the samsung galaxy s, and i tried it and compared the 2 screens THEN i switched it.

i believe u dont know what mflops really is..
its million floating point operations executed per sec...it depends very much upon the way floating point variables are handled by a processor which further is dependent upon instruction set architecture of a processor..which is different for each processor..so u cant really judge 2 processors fairly by mflops or mips..mflops and mips are a very old and outdated ways of benchmarking..they perform almost similar in other benchmarks

@veiledvulture Not completely true. yes it's outdated benching by megaflops but if you look at the triangles per second and all the benchmarks of the processor of the samsung galaxy s. It's the fastest 1ghz processor out there, even faster then the A4 that the iphone claims is crazy, and A4 was pretty much built by samsung. When i did the bench mark with lag fix, i got 1821

Apple + Samsung are making another deal and apple is giving samsung 7.8billion to build their phones again. mhm.. samsung may be better for games, but for everything else (including smooth menu) you will need and want the desire.. got it, perfect phone. Not a bad iphone imitation like the galaxy (sorry, but really dislike the gui and design...)

mothafuckin fags dont forget that the X10! will get a fuckin update to new android 2.1 and 2.2 with 16.000.000. colors!!! on the video you are seeing X10 with android 1.6 that only recognizes 65k or 650k colors. so after the update x10 will be faster and better then htc and galaxy. the LOOKS are already way BETTER!

@nightubble the desire has 576mb's of ram whilst the galaxy has 512. not an incredible difference but certainly gives the desire a tiny edge. however the combination of the super amoled and the processor in the galaxy s gives it better performance. but on a side note this extra performance is only noticeable in games and the galaxy s suffers greatly with battery life because of these little differences. i would say htc is a better phone but the galaxy s is also great
