Note to the documentary maker. this wonderful "redevelopment plan" the council are backing is primarily aimed at tearing down estates like the heygate and relocating (inadequatly) everyone., so they can sell prime real estate to the highest bidder. All this redevelopment plan is going to do is force people out into the suburbs and allow the developers to up the rents on stupidly rich people who can still afford to live in central london.

Well little boy so I guess you was born in 85/86. When was Elephant and Castle shopping centre built. I tell yah in the 60's long before you were born. Elephant, Walworth road and Old kent road were lovely places to go in the 60's. 70's and 80's. East street market the big market to go to. Everyone went there. You had your del boys down there and everything. Everyone use to know each other and you had great stalls down there. What you got now down there. Black kids with attitude problems.

Hmmm.... If you want somewhere cheap near central London, that's a hub of transport to so many areas, with cheap take out food and markets you may like it.

The downside is that it's not really safe or nice... at nights. Friday night just gone the POLICE had closed off a street near where I live (Thurlow Street) due to a stabbing.
