I personally don't think Andres deserves it at all, maneli yes he's already a pro but at least he doesn't need a backing track to make his entry interesting and good...I think the winner should be any1 who played guitar straight up without music in the back, have a great melody, don't need to show too much skills either...I don't think it's that hard to choose the 4 winnners

I thought that Shadow Electonics Stop Pad was a really good idea. For the last year & a half I've been trying to come up with a way to get the foot beat into the recording, I mean without having to put it in later. You know maybe a small kick drum with foot pedal. Maybe a piece of wood with a piezo electric pickup. Maybe an upright Tom with a foot pedal beneath.That Shadow solution seems like an ideal marriage of mechanical & electronic solution

Just curious, what happens if the winner doesn't want to sign the endorsement contract? I know it sounds crazy, but Rob, you aren't signed to an electric brand because you like multiple brands and switching guitars. What will happen if the winner feels the same?

...you picked up the only two, so far, who used pro equipment to record their videos. Personally, I hope this contest will favour the ones who are great musicians, but aren't yet able to purchase expensive guitars or mics. The endorsement would surely give them what they deserve.

@Virgult: pro equipment won't make anyone's hands play better. It will make your sound much more pleasing to the ear (which is very important for sure), but a good piece of music will still be enjoyable, even if it's recorded with a webcam (as long as the sound is not terrible, of course).

Besides, most accomplished musicians care a lot about their sound and record everything properly, so it's no coincidence.

Exactly. True talent will shine regardless of equipment. Although getting a GOOD angle of you playing and sound you create is very important for the viewer to stay interested.

well A nice and comfortable guitar wil make your playing better.. not that you suddenly can improvise 30 min solo's or something, but your music wil become more easier to play so you will be more relaxed and your quality will improve :)

On the other hand I have to agree with you: talented musicians who can't afford a good guitar would make perfect candidates for this contest, but then again: they would probably not be able to promote these products very well, because poor musicians (even very talented ones) are mostly unknown. A well known guitar player who owns much more expensive guitars could promote these guitars and pickups much better and faster...

Well Obviously on the electric guitar I play with steel strings.But I just don't like steel string acoustics.I do a lot of finger picking and spanish style playing and I find that the classical guitars with nylon strings and looser tension much easier to play on

2. It ends - 30th November. So thats 2 months to come up with your entry.

3. yes you can use an amp and FX... its just gotta be an acoustic guitar. We're looking for acoustic soul rather than shred-tastic rock. - although if you can make a rock shred work on your acoustic, why not do it!
