  • My dad told me about him. He said that sometimes him and his brothers would drink with him, and that he was a really nice guy.

  • How did he walk around so much with out eyes? I don't think he was blind.

  • I JR. High School My Teacher would tell us about him, Now I am 43 years old, A couple years ago, I heard he lived with his sister, He was Electrocuted. People would drive down the road and he would sense the headlights HOPING they were friendly with beer. I heard he died in 1996. I have a picture of him that I haven't found anywhere else. Let me know if you want it. Take Care.

  • Raymond used a walking stick an his feet to feel out where he was going.

  • Absolutely genuine question; how could he know where to walk if he had "no eyes"? Did he know the road so well he could just walk it?

  • My mom is from Petersburg Ohio and she told me that he would walk the road to Petersburg too...She would buy him cigarettes. She also said that he walked at night because he scared people in the daylight and children were afraid of him so he went out at night.

  • D:

  • Until the article on the paper I never thought he was for real.

  • That was an awesome story, I grew up there in that time when he was still around, thanks for this post!!

  • omg he was in weird Pennsylvania. and yeah hes real.

  • My grandpa knew him and he used to talk to him and give him a beer and he told me he was really nice!

  • I lived on Koppel - New Gallilie road in Phillips Trailer Court. I never got to meet him back then but my Brother had met him and i guess would go out to meet him every once in a while. i heard nothing but good things about him myself from people and would get insanely angry when people would go out to fuck with him at night like teens and drunken asshats are oft to do. I wish i could have met him. and as far as i know he was walking that in the early 80s RIP

  • My Grandpa and his friends use to go and drink beer with him in highschool in the 60's and i have a couple of pics of him that my pap had.

She worked at freindship ridge and she was giving him his bath and she slipped up and said "close you eyes ray" she told me that she was thinking"sh.t i hope i didnt offend you" but i guess he laughed at it and he was alright with it.im 13 and i guess he was a very nice and forgiving person. • @wampum7777 lol he loved his beer and penuts..

  • im from the area of part of this legend (South Park) so i know it fairly well. The mans real name is Raymon Robinson who was supposedly injured in a freak accident involving electricity (no one really knows what happened). He died in the early 80's and left a fantastic story to tell

  • @Rush12YYZ and yes his name was raymond and thats what he liked to be called.

  • and his name is raymond robinson techfan4life so u r lying

  • charlie no face is dead i lived in koppel for 7 years and techfan4life u cant be serious he died at least 4 or 5 years ago ive met him

  • My grandma remembers Charlie, she told me he was a nice guy, that was back in the 30's and 40's : )

  • my dad always told this story to me when me and my sister were little haha i guess its just a Beaver County Story

  • my grandfather knew him

  • After drinking some Iron purchased in Ohio seven of us packed from BFHS piled into a car and went to see "Charlie". We did see him walking the road but could not see his face. I knew the true story about his accident because my Mom told me the real story. Many people claim to have seen him just as we did but to have actually seen his face without talking to him would have been improbable. The road was narrow with no street lights. But more importantly, he turned his head away when cars came.

  • my dd used to always tell me about him he said he used to give him beer and stuff and get picture with him in exchange for pictures with him i think my dad was a round 23 at the time he still has 2 of the pictures he said

  • he died in 1985...

  • my dad told me about him as well

  • 'dude' my dad always tells me about him and i never beleive him and now - I DO

  • Thanks for the story on Ray. I saw him twice on that road and was able to talk to him for a short time. That was in 1966 or 67. I've thought of him many times and often wondered what had happened to him. Thanks again and I guess I must add -thanks to the internet. Rest in peace Ray Robinson you were the first person to show me how to count my blessings.

  • My dad worked on the railroad during the mid to late 70's, he said he saw him one night on his way home from a job. I thought he was full of it but my uncle who also works on the railroad confirmed it. Pretty cool "legend".

  • um dude this is no "legend". MY parents knew him and my family and that familey are good friends.

  • I know he's real, did you not read my comment? My dad and uncle have both seen him. What I meant by "legend" is that its pretty cool to have a local guy known across the country and even have a nickname that everyone recognizes. Relaxe, "dude".

  • ur such a lier i got this from his biography and i watched it on ghosthunters he was born in October 29, 1910 which would meen ur parents would be dead by now smart one!!!

  • ok.. my parents know there FAMILY and somehow my GREAT GRANDPARENTS knew him or something but yeah sorry i just got it a little mixed up cause when my mom told me the story, i wasnt paying that much attention so i she didnt tell me years and i thought she said something else

god you do have to be so mean and rude and all that... gosh

  • He didn't say his parents were still alice ADC, note how he used the past tense in his comment...

  • did you ever think that maybe he became an urban legend to people who didn't know him?

  • @alyssacherry103 goddness reading this stuff is pretty wild considering i spent everyday of every summer with ramond so hearing this stuff yea its crazy..

  • my grandma used to talk to him and she smoked with him and she said when he would smoke his face would glow green and they always thought he was a rumor till they seriously drove out their and they all talked to him about what happend and all that

  • Growing up in ohioville, and having a father who told alot of stories I always thought he made this up,wow was I shocked to hear he was real. I guess Butch was telling the truth.

  • whooohoooo BC representin'

  • Back in the day, during the teen years, and beyond, a number of us would meet at Jerry's and go out, find him and talk with him. Many of us got him beer, and smokes and brought him cheesburgers and fries from Jerry's. He was misunderstood, but sure had a legend made of him. And for those of you wondering whom I may be, my name is Terry Lee Ingram, and I was from Beaver. (I am now 62)

  • His nephew works at New Castle Recycling. Other nephew lives in Ellwood City. There's alot of people that gave him beer and cigs that talk on New Castle News discussion board.Have that pic of him and pic of Mary Black (legend/witch)that I got from library.

  • Send it to them, they would appreciate it.

  • Send it to who?

  • To the Beaver Times, the guy on the video who is talking, to print in his paper.

I'd love to see those photos here and that of Mary Black.

  • I can do that. The New Castle News just put some pictures on their web site ncnewsonline dot comm. Someone is making a low budget movie about him. The article is only a few days old. Should be easy to find. Type in green man in the search. A few articles will come up. I think its the 4th article down.

  • poor guy i read an article on him not too long ago
