The film was enjoyable all the same. Some critique. Probably you've moved way passed them already and I understand this was likely done on a tight budget. For the modeling, the square legs and static wrinkles dont look good. For the deformation, the bone weighting or joint compensation could certainly have used more tweaking here and there. Animation looked good at times. Especially how the short fat guy lands his feet exiting the trick. Was that and all the walking mocap?
Believe what you want if it makes you act kindly to others. As long as people follow the golden rule (which is understood by most already at a young age) everything is ok. It does seem some (selfish and egocentric) people need a refresher every know and then, so reading it in a holy book (whichever works;it's just to add credibility) is ok. Or just stick to your core principles always.

@mehja1 He revealed Himself by literally changing my entire worldview overnight while I was alone in my dorm room at college, and then convicting my heart of my sins (which never happened before), and causing me to see my own wickedness in the light of His holiness, which overwhelmed me to such an extent that I fell to my knees and wept in humiliation.
No other god did that for me. No other god woke me up from my slumber.

@taffysaur If Jesus were ONLY as powerful as Superman, turning the other cheek would be something, but he is much more powerful. He created the world. When He came to earth, He limited his power and became one of us, occasionally performing miracles so the world would know who He is. Jesus is not a bully, but God. He doesn't have to defend Himself. Instead He chose to take our place and die for of our sins, and one day He will either defend us, or condemn us. The choice is yours.

@gustavovallejos The problem for Jesus is that we can not cross reference his existence. There aren't any extra-biblical first-hand accounts of a Jesus ever existing. Don't you find that curious? Lets take the example of Julius Caesar, we have many first hand Roman accounts that he exited and can cross reference them with those of multiple historians of the time to see if the accounts match up and guess what, they do. Unfortunately we can't do they same with Jesus because no such evidence exists

@gustavovallejos How could the same historians that accounted for Julius Caesar account for Jesus too if Caesar died almost 50 years before Jesus supposedly was born? On top of that, Jesus supposedly didn't even start preaching and gaining followers until his 30's, thats' a nearly 75 year gap. Considering the time, it was extremely rare for people to live that long, even if they were from the upper classes.

Logically the easiest answer would be God's Providence. God can see everything and all time, so clearly he knows what's best for everything no matter how we feel about it, but that's the cop out answer. So I'll answer them because they are simple.
2. He "chose" to. I have to use the cop out because the answer that he did it for a way for us to be saved comes off as short, but it's all a part of God's plan.
3. We know nothing of the end times. Revelation's is extremely apocalyptic in nature and isn't synonymous with end times. Some believe the events were describing ones coming soon. (I among them)
4. Hell is separation for God. It's not the silly thing in this vid. And we enter it ourselves.

Separation from God would be separation from Good. I don't know how that works, because on Earth we're always with God at least in some way or another.
And sin is what separates us from God. Sin isn't of God. (though I'm still struggling with understanding this) So without the forgiveness of sin (through Jesus's death and our acceptance of his sacrifice for us/God's acceptance of his sacrifice for us) it separates us from God.

All Jack Chick stuff is creepy, so the animators are true to its spirit. There's a hilarious spoof of this comic called 'The Trucker and the Mind F***er' which would have been much better than this animation. It's well worth looking up.

I like the video. But the message of repentance is messed up in this. Repentance is to realize your a sinner pretty much and turn to Jesus. (like a change of mind) or something like that. it says in around 3:45 that even if you stop sinning and go to church and live a good life wont do any good
@Studmon182 Living a good life and not sinning will not get you into heaven. One must accept Jesus as their Saviour first. After that, living a good life is the fruit or evidence of the work done in our lives by the Lord. You have to be willing to turn away from that sin, not just accept that gift and keep on sinning.
@opknox1212 A person who has truly been saved and born again would maybe not want to sin. true believers have the Holy Spirit. They wouldn't want to sin, but sometimes would slip up. Change comes after someone comes to Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Jesus is what saves us, but I am sure any new believer who came to Jesus doesn't want to sin, but may still sin at times.
@opknox1212 I think maybe you and I have a similar idea on this. True repentance can lead to a change of life. True repentance can lead you to not want to sin, but the idea that we need to give up our sins completely, then that i think is not biblical.

The film was enjoyable all the same. Some critique. Probably you've moved way passed them already and I understand this was likely done on a tight budget. For the modeling, the square legs and static wrinkles dont look good. For the deformation, the bone weighting or joint compensation could certainly have used more tweaking here and there. Animation looked good at times. Especially how the short fat guy lands his feet exiting the trick. Was that and all the walking mocap?

Believe what you want if it makes you act kindly to others. As long as people follow the golden rule (which is understood by most already at a young age) everything is ok. It does seem some (selfish and egocentric) people need a refresher every know and then, so reading it in a holy book (whichever works;it's just to add credibility) is ok. Or just stick to your core principles always.

I would think that my actions and how I treat the people around me is more important (but then: God thinks genocide is cool). Being good without the prospect of a big reward is had to understand for selfish people.
What about the hundreds of other religious text in this world? Have you studied them to rule out that you bark up the wrong tree?

@mehja1 Jesus hated religion, and He came to abolish it. Religion is what killed Jesus actually. Religion is trying to please God with your own holiness. Jesus said "apart from me you can do nothing." (John 15:5)
God is just in slaughtering the wicked because God does not take pleasure in it (Ezekiel 18:23) and therefore we can assume that God would much rather the wicked turn to Him and repent.

@mehja1 He revealed Himself by literally changing my entire worldview overnight while I was alone in my dorm room at college, and then convicting my heart of my sins (which never happened before), and causing me to see my own wickedness in the light of His holiness, which overwhelmed me to such an extent that I fell to my knees and wept in humiliation.
No other god did that for me. No other god woke me up from my slumber.
I never heard a voice or saw a vision. It was purely spiritual.

it's fine enough that the god-man turns the other cheek. that's only responsible (i'm thinking more of superman to make his analogy work; jesus isn't really all that powerful from what we see in the gospels), but he can't tell us to do the same thing! we're vulnerable humans! there's a difference between being a bully and defending yourself or your friends. there's more than just two choices.
this offends me both as an atheist and as an animation enthusiast.

@taffysaur If Jesus were ONLY as powerful as Superman, turning the other cheek would be something, but he is much more powerful. He created the world. When He came to earth, He limited his power and became one of us, occasionally performing miracles so the world would know who He is. Jesus is not a bully, but God. He doesn't have to defend Himself. Instead He chose to take our place and die for of our sins, and one day He will either defend us, or condemn us. The choice is yours.

There is evidence that some people believed in a jesus but that was several decades after he supposedly lived and died. There is no contemporary evidence of a jesus existing. There is the account of Josephus that has been shown to be a late first century christian fraud but even then is at best heresy. continued...

If you talk about Spiderman as a true bin in 30 years from now everybody will reject why is it that no one reject the Christian accounts?..The Koran could get names right but it contradicts what it asks to believe..but again you need to research I'm not asking you to believe without an understanding of what you're going to believe..

@gustavovallejos The problem for Jesus is that we can not cross reference his existence. There aren't any extra-biblical first-hand accounts of a Jesus ever existing. Don't you find that curious? Lets take the example of Julius Caesar, we have many first hand Roman accounts that he exited and can cross reference them with those of multiple historians of the time to see if the accounts match up and guess what, they do. Unfortunately we can't do they same with Jesus because no such evidence exists

@gustavovallejos How could the same historians that accounted for Julius Caesar account for Jesus too if Caesar died almost 50 years before Jesus supposedly was born? On top of that, Jesus supposedly didn't even start preaching and gaining followers until his 30's, thats' a nearly 75 year gap. Considering the time, it was extremely rare for people to live that long, even if they were from the upper classes.

I have read many of the comments and it is sad that when finally someone creates videos for the lost I see insults, remarks of the Lord bending over so people can kiss His rear end (not the words they used) I noticed no love but immature people. The thing I don't like about the Chick stuff is that the people don't interact realistically. It's usually something like: "You're going to Hell unless you repent and accept Jesus." "Oh, I didn't realize that! I'll change my ways now!"
I realize they may work for some people, but I've NEVER seen this be effective, and I'm a pastor's kid. These tracts and animations (which COULD use sprucing up, but I couldn't out-do) come off as pedantic, and I think people really respond negatively to that.

I'm not a believer, and I find Chick's stories to be simplistic and silly. And that's why I collect them.
The animation needs sprucing up, If you can fix it up at a later date I suggest making the men a bit hairier. Duke's voice would also be a bit better if it was deeper grumbly. Well, that is if you're part of this and not simply passing it along.

@takioc It's because it's such a lame cop-out meant to automatically dismiss anybody who says who took it seriously and found it to be too absurd and immoral to continue. It's to prevent ones self from questioning and risking facing an uncaring universe or going to hell which is such an insideous mind-trap. I finally realized that if God was really worthy of worship, he wouldn't need to send people to hell or threaten to do so.

3. We know nothing of the end times. Revelation's is extremely apocalyptic in nature and isn't synonymous with end times. Some believe the events were describing ones coming soon. (I among them)
4. Hell is separation for God. It's not the silly thing in this vid. And we enter it ourselves.

If God created an eternal punishment not caring that the majority of all humanity would end up there then that's "the worst kind of murderer" as the animation says. If God is unable to allow sinners into heaven that's one thing, but sending them somewhere else with the whole intention of suffering is another much worse thing.

I like the video. But the message of repentance is messed up in this. Repentance is to realize your a sinner pretty much and turn to Jesus. (like a change of mind) or something like that. it says in around 3:45 that even if you stop sinning and go to church and live a good life wont do any good

After that, living a good life is the fruit or evidence of the work done in our lives by the Lord. You have to be willing to turn away from that sin, not just accept that gift and keep on sinning.

@opknox1212 A person who has truly been saved and born again would maybe not want to sin. true believers have the Holy Spirit. They wouldn't want to sin, but sometimes would slip up. Change comes after someone comes to Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Jesus is what saves us, but I am sure any new believer who came to Jesus doesn't want to sin, but may still sin at times.
