The company that made this game, Arkane Studios, was acquired by Bethesda last year. I guess the easiest way to get rid of the competition is to buy them.

That said Arkane's next title is a first person stealth game with Harvey Smith (of Deus Ex fame) as Lead Designer so getting bought up by Bethesda doesn't sound like a bad thing.

make a sequel please but still use source and the current version, also use textures for dungeons from the new aztec on csgo brickwork, grass from dota 2 and trees, i know its hard to make it cus of loading screens but just landscapes with plenty of trees and grass all over for certain parts, and few detailed stony paths it would look great. but dont make it cartoony.

i woudl love if they use some models from dota 2, the npcs as it saves trouble and they look good.

@jajasingh if wish my team at spiderbite studios cud do it but were busy making a source racing game and it looks need 4 speed hot pursuit, we have night time scenes with rainand there are people walkingon the pavements and the water builds up at the sides and when the weels go over it it spray out, also it feels alot better than half life 2 racing but we have it adapted and seperate animations our selves, we also have hot sunny day desert scenes, to mountain, city streets, graslands,custommakin

They need to make a second one still running on source but with the new Dora 2, csgo, portal 2 version, for woodlands they use the grass and trees from Dota 2 and for the rocks and cliffs and Walls will look great the character detail, and npc should be as detailed as chell from portal 2

But when I try to apply the patch, it says the game doesn't exist or isn't there, so patch cant be installed. But it is there, it's just it is a version from Utorrent.

@KamaraAlex It's underrated due to your category of person's commitment to the status quo. The combat is immersive and variable in a way that third person games can't achieve. You just don't get it until you charge two black guards, smack one aside with your shield, behead the other, grab his corpse and throw it atop the first, impale him, smash a jar of oil over their bodies, launch a fire arrow into them, do a jolly dance as they burn and then teabag them after it's over, all in first person.

The problems this game had when it was first released had a negative impact on the review scores. But now those issues are history anybody who haven't played this game should most definitely buy it and play it. Get the PC version though.

@kickx87 when this game was first released it had alot of problems on different computers. It would constantly cause computer to freeze, and slow down for no reason. I've had my own share of technical issues when I first got the game. But I gave it a chance and after a few patches and hardware upgrades, this is probably the best game that I have ever played in my entire life.

Just picked this up recently during the Steam Summer Sale. An absolute gem of a game - just goes to show that reviews should only be taken with a grain of salt. Moon Dailly did a sublime job voicing Xana - I haven't been this consumed by a storyline in a long, long time! My best guess is that they barely broke even on this title, judging by the amount of people in the credits. They simply don't make many games with this high of a production value and talented voice work anymore.

Reviews don't mean SHIT. This was one of the best first person games i've played. I had more fun playing this than the typical bad company or modern warfare shooters.. Honestly, i think shooters are all the same these days. But games liek this are so creative. This game deserved a 9 out of 10 in my opinion. I've had it since 2006. I still play the single player every week or 2. It just doesn't get old. And even if it does, i just spawn dozens of Death knights and ghouls and fight em off.

@SarethZhukov314 so right. Hehe, but it took like 1 month of non-stop DM time, before I found the console cheats..! Did you know you can click block, at teh instant your sword stikes, to skip past the animation for when the arm sort of resets? :P

The trick increases your attack rate dramaticly lol so now I only use the short sword xD

@MarklarRavencrest Red Faction also offers full scale destructibility. But unlike BF, it's completely original storywise. But aside from destruction and back to FPS in general what i enjoy is Counter-strike. Because it takes alot of skill to play. In real life, a 7.62 rifle doesn't fire like a .22. That's completely unrealistic. I've fired one before, and it kicks like a steed. But in games like BF,COD, and Homefront, you can fire a gun without flinching. Play a game that takes skill.

@vinnietrinh123 It's all first person. If you ever played The elder scrolls Oblivion, you'll find that the combat is very similar, though in Dark Messiah i'd say the combat is much smoother and feels like it has more effort in it.

The game is very fun, though I don't know if people still play the multiplayer. The singleplayer is pretty linear, though I liked the story very much :p

@MaxRideWizardLord we got fire arrow the first offensive magic in the game on the offensive spell tree second we got ice blast used to make opponents trip and fall or just to frezze them, a spell that converts an enemy to your side for a short while. fire ball an explosive blast which causes a group of enemys standing close to eachother great dmg. lightning blast a spell that jumps on the wall and causes great dmg. inferno a flametrower ability which is the most powerfull spell, heal and muc mor
