ok, i like the new bikes and gear and all but the whole vibe of the sport has gotten so serious nowadays it's ridiculous. i can't go riding without feeling like i have to jump some 70 foot double and half the time my friends aren't even in control they're just trying to prove something. no matter how hard they try, nobody i know will ever be as cool as steve mcqueen. it makes me wanna sell my yz 250f and go buy an old 1980s husqvarna and just mob around on that
This reminds me of the joy riders surely feel running the Dakar Rally (pre-2005 when it was still base in Eu/Africa) Stunning desert riding there, far more (soft) sandy than scrub brush- this wee bike would get eaten by a dune easy. Still,it's wild, raw driving, no crap in the way just you +nature.
2) Sad how young Afghan/Pak youth often only turn into Taliban for comaraderie,food/money. That M.E. wilderness should be RIDDEN IN, enjoyed. Imagine the $ they could make from tourism/rally races.
This was one fast 250. Long wheelbase. Best be pointed straight if you wanted to run through the gears. Light and fast. Cheap at the time if I remember correctly.
would love this vid even more without the music.

Well,it can't be before 1973 because that's when the Elsinore 250 2 stroke came out.
