  • Proves its not Lous fault that Lulu isnt up to scratch

  • Fuckin' A. That was fantastic.

  • I dont get it. Im left confused as to what is good about The Raconteurs; they seemed hyped. I mean, im sure theyre "ok" but its only because the "wonderkid" Jack White is in the band. I think theyre sort of watered down and all image/hype--dont think the songs are strong. Brendan seems like a lame, coffee-house singer/songwrit. Jack is spreading himself too thin and has lost his appeal for me. Hes certainly made a good living and name but i dont think hes at all a genius like hes made out.

  • this gotta be the most badass team up in the history of music

  • holy shit how have i never seen this before. i think my life is now complete

  • 00:11 lou's like "...look at these fuckers..haha"

  • You know how I know this never really happened? Lou has no sunglasses on.

  • At :43, it sounds like he sang "White Stripes--three."

  • Holy Crap! Lou and Jack onstage together! That's what's up!

  • did they air this??????????

  • well, that was fucking quick lmao, but hey good things come in small packages

  • Awesome...too bad there is only one minute of video footage captured...

  • LOL I remember seeing this when it first aired and thinking, wtf! Is that Lou Reed? The whole situation was just perfect: The Godfather of Punk, a legend, playing on the VMA's and nobody had a clue who he was. Something about that just screams "fuck you." In an odd sort of way. You understand what I'm getting at??

  • @mrhipfl yeah the only people who know who the hell Lou Reed is are the Raconteurs and Jack Black, who hosted...I thought the exact same thing.

  • Bet Jack was diggin this! Saw him with the Stones too. He's getting to play with a bunch of legends!

  • I love later in the show one of the "VJs" interview Lou Reed and didn't know who he was and asked him stupid questions

  • lou has lost it

  • @Bananaskunk i made an account just to dislike this

  • @redhotchilipepperite bahaha hilarious yeah this song sux

  • @Bananaskunk he is 69

  • i was at the vmas for this but i didn't recognize its importance nor did i realize just who lou reed was until afterwards. DAMN.

  • jack white forgot the lyrics of the song at the beggining!!

  • @neto4346 you could also say that Lou Reed is way off on his timing...doesn't matter, still rocks.

  • AWESOME!

  • I think I just died...Jack and Lou onstage together! Lucky bugger, Jack.

  • what a m*therfuckin' performance.

Lou and those guys hardly kick MTV's ass!!

  • They should make a Lou Reed signature Fender Telecaster like the one he has in this video or an Epiphone Riviera with a Bigsby tremolo, the guitar he used with the last few years of The Velvet Underground and in the beginning of his solo career. That would be amazing!!!!!!!!

  • They made a riviera with a bigsby as a Jorma Kaukonen signature- but even more than either of those... Lou Reed Model Gretsch 1964 Country Gentleman with preamp, speed controller, tremolo controller, stereo electronics, & sustainer.

  • Best one minute rock clip on youtube ever

  • Fantastic!!! and soo cool!!!

    never imagine something like that

  • goooooooodddd!!!!!!!!

  • AWESOME!

  • jack white get wrong on the first chour...

  • Wow, I actually for a long time thought, "Wouldn't it be funny if Jack White covered 'White Light/White Heat'?" ('cause of his name and all, and also because it's just an awesome-tacular song and he's an awesome-tacular artist), but I never knew he actually did! This just makes my day!

  • the velvet stripes :)

  • You need a little more than Lou Reed to make it anything Velvet.

  • maybe someone know, who's idea was to invite lou at this performance?

  • WOW!! i'm so into lou reed (few days ago i got his New York cd), and today, for few hours i was listening raconteurs..and than BANG!! white light/white heat! that's a sign!!:)) loved that!!!!

  • Gosh that was good . What a pity it's not longer

  • God bless these guys for making an MTV ceremony interesting for once.

  • @TulseLuper Exactly, some honest music on "music television"

  • Jack White has got to be the luckiest musician ever. He's played with so many legends. Reed, Stones, Dylan, Townshend, the list goes on.

  • It's not luck; he deserves it. These people don't play with wannabes.

  • i agree

  • DUDE!

    Amazing gathering of talent.

  • Holy crap! Jack Black, Jack White, Lou Reed, Brendan Benson and many other musical geniuses in the same place!!! DAMN!!! AWESOMENESS ON HIGHEST LEVEL!!!

  • JACK BLACK????

  • oh, jack black was hosting

  • Exactly :D

  • Oh my god. Lou Reed? I fucking hate you guys. You make me so damn jealous. Keep it up!!!!!!
