The argument that surrogacy is not "regulated by Belgian law" is senseless. Samuel is the son of a Belgian citizen. Yet Belgian courts and diplomatic services did their best to keep Samuel stranded in Ukraine. If his father had been a heterosexual man, courts and diplomats would doubtless have done their best to help.
What happened to this family is a crime! What heartless tyranical system would take a child from two loving parents and wharehouse him in an orphanage for two years? So disgusting!!
Thank God he's finally home!! I think the government must do something to prevent this type of problems. I child shouldn't stay far away his parents for 2 years! Come on, it's crazy!! Fortunately, this story has had a happy ending
I am so happy for them...but so sad, that any government could have the power to keep a child away from his parents like this. This is a complete violation of basic human rights...I hope and pray that Samuel can forget about this horrible time in his young life, and build a new happy and stable life with his daddies!
