I also find it highly ironic that some members of the YFS have been joining these protests, demanding that the Canadian government take action. This is the same YFS that has chased the Canadian military off campus at York for years. I guess the Canadian military serves a purpose sometimes for these York lefties. Both the LTTE and the Sri Lankan military have blame in this horrible war. Frankly, there are hundreds of wars at anytime in the world. Canada needs to help its own citizens first.
This protest was absolutely ridiculous. They lost my sympathy with their outrageous tactics. There are countless people on the Gardiner at any time, including a relative of mine, who need to go the hospitals downtown for cancer treatment and other medical care. It was extremely cowardly for the women and children to be pushed by the "men" in front of the riot police. And what responsible parent would bring a baby in a stroller onto an expressway where a stampede could have occurred? SHAMEFUL

they feel that there loved ones are being massacred so you've got to empathise with the shear terror the tamil community is going through right now. this was a tame demonstration from what the potential for a ful out riot could have been, but i suppose thats because of the restraint shown by the police forces. all in all it was handled and responded to in a very canadian way in my opinion.
Canada has NO obligation to aid Sri Lanka...these people are taking Toronto hostage for no justifiable reason. There are other methods of getting there message across.

see it was fine at first but i went to the last protest why did i see people enjoying them self?
