@Northeastbaseball - it was FREEZING - they handed out blankets to the crowd. They had a HUGE ice storm the week before while the guys were on bivouac - one of the companies came in from the field - the other stayed out there (and weren't about to let the other guys know about it LOL).
Why so cynical? It wasn't meant to be a documentary. This "show" was to demonstrate (in a very small way) to the family and friends of the graduates a small sampling of what they had learned through their training. As retired military (24 yrs Air Force) and a father of one of these graduates I was grateful for their dedication and display of skill which we were all there to celebrate. My son went from there to a tour in Afghanistan. I was and remain very proud of all of them.
This is a really sad thing to see, I am a 2/58 Inf, HOUSE OF PAIN graduate from 1999. The last class because after that apparently they train women @benning now and I see they play bad to the bone at your ceremony that is a just retarded! Rangers lead the way 2/75th Ft. Lewis out. <~~~ as he shakes his head in disgust.
@bngedrinkr81 I think I can help solving this issue. They do not train women at Fort Benning. The soldiers only beat up women and girls at the protests against the SOA. Maybe you got confused.
Wow this really took me back. I graduated in 1997 and served as a TOW gunner for four years after that. I've since changed my job to MP and now I work with K9's. I can't believe I retire in less than eight years.
they should've issued snuggies to the crowd...I was 1/19 Infantry...I saw this same demoe while in basic, I think it was armed forces day or something.
First of all, let me know what your background is, for making such boasts!
I am a regular army (tank/infantry) captain, 17 years of service and 4 tours, to Iraq and Afghanistan and the Balkans, and IMO, the US and UK both produce very good soldiers, so to say that the british are far superior to the yanks, is just plain BS.
obvious troll is obvious, its sad when someone needs attention so much that they do shit like you. Work ur problems out with mommy and daddy lil boy, dont bringem here
well we've been doing parades like that since we kicked your superior army's ass back across the ocean twice. hahaha stupid fucker. you can have a bad ass parade when you are a real winner. britts dont measure up. fuck the queen who cares if shes old.
The intro is so damn powerful. You look into those young mans eyes, and you just see the bravest young men this country has. It's amazing. I can't wait to stand with them
for what all we did is drive & walk around and hope we don't get shout or blow up other than that we were just bored the hole time. i dont get why people act like this is ww2 or something? i would just be proud his in the best of the best 11B INFANTRY!!!
For what? because he serves in a unit with a heritage of brave service. It aint ww2, or even Vietnam...but tell that to the dead or wounded. Thats a stupid thing to say.
There will never be another experience like it.You will be scared, then adjust, then you won't be able to STAND the wait until graduation, but when you're in my shoes, 18 years after those days, you'll look back with amazing clearness and remember some of the most amazing times of your life!U'll recall the smell of the chow hall & the smell of the breeze blowing in formation, the early PT runs, the goofy shower drills, the late night fire-watches and you'll miss it all!wow-you might even shed a tear.
Please tell your son thank you, from me. And to you, as well, thank you. Nobody knows the weight of worry (as well as pride) carried by a military parent during deployment.
lol! That;s right. I was in 4/30 in 1991...amazing times, and memories. I still sometimes smell the exaust from a deisel engine and remember the deuce 'n a halves hauling us around - and I remember like it was YESTERDAY. Man, I still remember Drill Segeant Awong's bark! Can't believe I miss those days...love to wake up back in that single-bed rack in my army gray PT's.
lol god they use that song in every branch in every demonstration. im in the navy and ive heard it at least a million or so times. hooyah army brothers!
