This girl was in 7th or 8th grade when she did this "routine". She is an exceptional dancer putting aside the gynastic ability she has. And to answer annemie comment almost 4 years ago, she IS in cirque du soleil now.

She is a really great dancer and she does many things so she's flexible with getting a job. You dances really beautifully and very flexible.

@dancindavo - nobody pissed on a picture of christ. somebody photographed a crucifix suspended in a jar of urine. and if the piece wasn't called "Piss Christ" you would never know that urine was involved. look it up, the image is very ethereal and quite beautiful. Seriously.

awesome stretches, she has beautiful long legs and extensions! Maybe work a little on making it flow better. It seems a little harsh going from phrase to phrase, and heavy as she comes down from leaps. But awesome work!

I disagree with the part about this not being a dance because a dance is movements put together and done intentionally, so you can plan to tap your finger 8 times and that would be considered a dance. It is just not the "normal" type of dance that everyone considers dance.

Yes, you're right, but i should have say i was talking about artistique dance (jazz, moderne, contemporain, classique). There is no transition between two figures, she doesn't use the space. But her technique is awesome, and that's why i whrote it was more gymnastic than dance. And the GRS is a dance gymnastic, I think it's the same kind of dance.

WOW. um you obviously dont really know a whole lot about dancing because this girl has definitive ballet training and incorperates a ton of that into this piece.. she i really good and yes rythmic gymnastics is dancing too... ive seen it done at competitions before and it looks nothing like this.... ive done a lot of this stuff in some of my lyrical solos and im not a gymnast.. im a dancer... so before you go hollering at this girl for not using the space learn something about dancing. kay?

No abviously you think dance is acrobatic and that's it (contempory isn't acrobatic! jazz or modern maybe, but not contempory!) I think the difference between gymnastic and dance is gymnastique: acrobaties, souplesse, etc and dance is more with feelings, interpretation, dance is a move research. This is maybe dance, but she uses only one face of it. If she was using ballet, i think you know it, look at her retirés! She 's awesome when she's got the leg high but after that i see fragile bases.

And if you're talking about this, i'm studding dance to be a dance teacher, i'm dancer in a professional cie and I dance since i'm 4 years old . So I saw a lot of dance in my life, i've even had many gold trophees. By the way, you don't have to talk to me like that because it wasn't nasty, and i'm myself a technical dancer and they reproche this to me. But i've already noticed that contempory dance in usa an in france are in different ways.

tapping your finger is dance as much as pissing on a picture of christ is art. this girl is a gymnast not a dancer... she has a series of gymnastic moves put together with no intention of creating a dance. those movements that might be considered dance are not executed well.

@dancindavo This girl left was asked to move to new york during high-school to train with Joffrey Ballet, she later moved on to Alvin Aileys program and shes now DANCING for cirque du soleil!

@deedz25 thank you deedz25 you've proven my point exactly. She has oviously trained as a gymnast. No denying it. Many dancers would love those legs and feet and I'm sure thats why she was asked to train with Joffery Ballet and Alvin Ailey. So what happened in the end after all this training? I'm sure she's got great grand battements but can she dance? No. Is she in a Ballet Company? No. Okay. Contemporary Dance Company? No. She is now in a circus.

@deedz25 . Do you think Cirque Du Soleil thought "she's a beautiful dancer" when she went for the job? No... they're a circus who want freaks who can do tricks... they've got her doing gymnastics like in this video. I love Cirque Du Soleil so I think its great she's employed by them. Wise of her to revert back to her strengths in gymnastics.
