It can affect performance, but worse will off balance your prop and driveshaft which can cause stress and wear on your motor and ultimately cause engine failure if bad enough or run long enough, so well worth fixing damaged propellors
They both have there pluses and minuses, I prefer two, and work well on Catamarans. Unfortunately, even new outboard motors still break down, dirty fuel, electronic problems, and is always great to have a back up motor, and able to get home under your own power,
Not sure on that one, some props will have a rubber bush which will give way, but still work at slow speeds enabling you to get home. What brand motor and size, and probably best to check with your local dealer,
I wasn't able to video that part, but you need to be able to TIG Weld aluminium, then just grind, sand back to the original shape. All right if you can aluminium weld or get a local welding shop to give you a hand,
if you have bigger chunks outta your propellor would it lack proformance ?

i didnt see it on these motors, but i have a ring thing that sit's over top of teh prop, and is bolted to the motor with two bolts.....
teh motor was brand new last year, and i split this ring hitting a log,
i dont know if i did some serious damage?..or is it a simple replacement??
..if anyone can make any sense out of my comment, could you please respond with your 2cents on what it might be??

Ok, but How to Repair a damaged outboard propellor??
:)

See below's comment, but TIG welding is a must to be able to build up the damaged part, and than sand, grind back to shape.

that didn't say "how to repair". You basically take it off and have someone else do it is what your saying.
