Farrokh Bulsara..... perfect voice, classically trained on the piano, songwriter, designed Queens logo......collector of Japanese art..Beautiful,shy sweet and yes ...sexy... part of something so perfect. Brian May Guitar Master Brilliant song writter, Roger Taylor great on drums and that falsetto John Deacon wrote some of Queen's most memorible songs and amazing bass player.. I miss your presence Freddie Mercury..I admire how you lived..and died on your terms Glad I got to see Queen LIVE
I have forgotten the song, but one night I saw a Queen video on TV that had a quick shot of Roger Taylor in drag, and he looked like Goldie Hawn. I was in hysterics for a long time after.
brilliantly awesome song - such a great groove - and such great artists to have evolved from their heavy prog rock into this heavy funk and do it so well. Been a fan for nearly 30 years and this mid-late 70s roger taylor funk stuff is amongst my fave.
@tobyobrie It's not really ripping off, it's more an homage or something. Although if you want to be a true cynic then i've got news for you '95% of all music is ripped off'
If you think this is good, look up The Kleptones a Night at the Hip-Hopera which samples the awesome guitar riffs from this. I'm gutted they banned it..... but I have a sly copy though! Thank God.
@jeffdeanable He does play all instruments and sings all of the voices in this record. It's not even the only Queen song like that : he played all of instruments apart from some guitar noises (and the lead vocals during the verses) on Sheer Heart Attack from the same album, played all of the instruments and sung all the voices of several of his solo records and some other Queen songs... the dude's very talented.
@Canaveral305 Sheer Heart Attack, another all time favorite of mine...thanks for the info! I am like a pair of claws scuttling across the floor of the ocean...well, someone's gotta be good at everything. I never knew....:)
@KORAX14 Roger doesn't normally play bass so you should have said "Not only drums". Anywho, the liner notes state that Roger plays rythm guitar and bass guitar in addition to drums. Hoever, Brian takes lead guitar per usual.
@KORAX14 I was under the impression Roger only played rhythm guitars. The NOTW liner notes were very specific so I'd have to check them to make sure. I could totally be wrong.
And people think it was either John Deacon or Freddie who brought funk into Queen music (Another One Bites The Dust, Hot Space album) but actually the first 'flirt' with the genre is by Roger, not only this but 'Fun It' from the subsequent album. Roger even plays bass on this.
Hey I like it, listen up I placed that Fight From The Inside, cause it has "beat it" scenes is just to make tribute to MJackson, RIP Michael Jackson, And Freddie all genius. My parents are big fans of Michael's also Queen. We love a lot international music here in Argentina.
so much behind this "innocent" lyric--- fight fom the inside has much to say about life in general even though the aspects may not always be recognized
I think you've got them all there. His voice was more promenent on some backing vocals (such as Ride The Wild Wind), Freddie took over main singing rights during the 80's.
@Izzierocks "Calling all girls", "Action this day", "Radio GAGA", "Kind of Magic", "Invisible Man", "Machines-Back to Humans", "Headlong", "Drowse" "Coming Soon" "Don't lose your head" all these song made totally by Roger Taylor except "Machines-Back to Humans" that was made by Taylor & May...
It's all cool - there's songs with John playing piano or guitar, Brian playing piano or singing lead vocal, Freddie playing guitar, often on the songs they wrote, just because they felt like it.
Yeah, Taylor played most of the instruments in this particular song. He is credited as such: lead and backing vocals, drums, percussion, rhythm guitar, bass guitar

There were quite a few, just off the top of my head:
Modern Times Rock and Roll
Loser in the End
Tenement Funster
I'm in Love With my Car
Fun It
More Of That Jazz
Rock It (Prime Jive)
There are probably some others, but my mind's gone blank.
He has got a really distinctive voice, which I love, you should probably check out some of his solo stuff aswell :D

Roger "Hey Freddie !! Look what i've just found ! Funny isn't it ?!"
Freddie "Get off ! You'll make my wonderful fur coat dirty ! (silly little boy) "
Brian "ZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZZ...."
John "mmm who's that girl comin' ??!"
(and that girl is me ^^)

Where did you here that???
Sounds like Brian lent a hand or two. Name the source.
I know Rodger (lol) can do quit a bit...take Fun in Space, but I just think perhaps May added a bit

John Deacon played bass.
fishnsticks 3 years ago 2
I don't think he did on this track.
letsgocubs13 3 years ago
Really?
Hmmm that's wierd...why would they have a bass player and not make him play bass on this track.
thats silly, but cool song anyways.
fishnsticks 3 years ago
I think its just because Taylor wrote it and felt it was his song. He wanted to lay down all the instruments he could to make sure it stayed his own.
letsgocubs13 3 years ago
Sounds reasonable, but he should of just done his own solo thing instead of joining a band if he wanted to do that.
I guess if it was just for that song then its okay..i think i'm making a big deal out of this
lol
