  • love the movie and song

  • I have always love hearing her sing!

  • Great movie and a great song...

  • Love the song (and most of Steinman's work), and I'm still amazed at how great the movie looked. Unfortunately some of the story points left a bit to be desired (skip the "his face changes" bit and just cast Billy instead of Alec).

  • great movie and a great song !!! that's when alex baldwin wasnt such a douche !!!!

  • 'The Shadow' story may have actually been based on someone who was able to 'cloud men's minds' back in the 30's -40's. This is just a guess on my part but a man with these capabilities was reportedly around in the WWII era. He was well known enough that if I remember right, Stalin invited him to Russia for a demonstration of what he was able to do. The story was featured in the Time-Life books "Mysteries of the Unknown.' I'm pretty sure under the Psychic powers volume.

  • a few it wouldn't let me post links.. look up pandora's box original sin, meat loaf original sin, and tanz der vampire original sin (german)

  • this reminds me Meatloaf's I would do anything for love

  • @goblonde1 You have a good ear. This was written by Jim Steinman who also wrote "I would Do Anything For Love". Meat Loaf also does this song (very welll I might add) on his 1995 album "Welcome to the Neighborhood"

    Cheers

  • Such an underated Voice, Goes wellwith such an Underrated Movie....i LOOOOOOOOVED THE SHADOW

  • I would love to see a reboot of the Shadow. This movie, yes is cheesy, but it wasn't that bad. I would love to see what actors would be chosen to play the shadow and margot lane. Also, the special effects have gotten better since then. I think that they could definitely do something great with a hero like the shadow.

  • hell yeah!!!!!!!

  • Jim Steinman = Win, I do like the Pandora's Box version or the version from Tanz Der Vampire better

  • @fatenabu1 theres another version of this song?

  • i love her powerful voice.

  • sam rami wants to remake this fim.

  • s.u.p.e.r

  • Exellent!!! Chic song! The luxurious voice!

  • Who knows that this is an awesome song?.

    I KNOW!.

    XD

  • @Achtungworld1 lol, good one:D

  • @nightowl685 haha thanks, I wrote that some time ago, I forgot about it. Diffently Taylor Dayne is a great singer. Pleasent to the ear, not to mention the eye ;)

  • the movie deserves a decent sequel. and a remastered blu-ray special.

  • @Blackhoundrise ikr? this movie was awesome

  • This song is super 90's fabulous! Everything that was great about that decade is in this song!

  • The Shadow known all....

  • як филм и як глас

  • @markad30 Good. I wouldn't want to see him in a smexy dress. He's a great singer, tho.

  • im actually watchin the film right now ...good film better song

  • Terribly underrated song for terribly underrated movie.

  • meatloaf is 1 of the best vocalists to ever live...but daamm this girl was born to sing this song

  • wow, I heard this in the end credits and just had to look it up to hear it again.. and again.. amazing!

  • Taylor, oh, she's incredible! I love this video!

  • Love this.. Operatic POP ROCK..

  • GREATEST

  • Jim Steinman = GREATEST SONGWRITER EVAR!!

  • It was written by Jim Steinman who did many of Meatloafs hits. It is easy to imagine him singing this.

  • Loved this movie. Never did know who sang this, good find!

  • I like it... very well done and beautiful...Haunting...

  • Sounds like she was heavily influenced by Tina Turner. Great song!

  • @TucoRamirez2 I always thought Tina Turner did that song. )

  • @jkmoomoo I'm pretty sure she has a General Electric Stainles Steel Double Oven 5 top burners Gas Range

  • @squidward10tacles *GROAN*

  • I was five years old when I first saw the Shadow and heard this song! Damn, I must have been born with good taste :)

  • @Damadehierro89 i think you must have been dropped on your head as a kid if you like this cheap rubbish LOLOLOLOL

  • Amazing song and amazing Taylor dayne

love it love it love it.....

  • Why haven't I heard this before tonight? Amazing recording! Getting it on iTunes tonight. And a great Jim Steinman production, too! (Speaking of which, how Earth did the "Original Sin" album by Pandora's Box (the Steinman-produced album that had the original version of this song) get out of print? Seems like a fairly "original" sin to me! lol)

  • 4:22 -4:29 Pure. Sexy. ^^

  • The Shadow was great film and its soundtrack is no less impressive.

    Taylor Dayne was awesome

  • I think a woman was in charge o making this music video. All those shirtless men. XDDD

  • Much prefer the 6-1/2 version of this to the 5-1/2 version, but this is as close as we'll get for an "official" video. A strong Jim Steinman tune, but the lyric is generally a mix of great lines and terrible ones -- almost as if the lyrics were a rushed afterthought. As a theologian, I am routinely annoyed by people who misuse the term "original sin" and think they're being clever, but in this case it's actually clever use of the phrase with an alternate meaning.

  • @tjhoenecke In the case being that Lamont Cranston's "dark side" was lost in a constant pursuit of new and novel ways to flip the bird to God, the lyric reflects the ultimate meaninglessness of sin and and evil. His desire is never sated, he is only eventually bored with his old crimes, and seeks out new ones in the hope that he can still get his cheap thrills. But it's an empty and neverending treadmill -- hence his struggle with guilt, even after "coming over to the light side," so to speak.

  • Nice!!! indeed

  • this is a good song, but OMG the actual vid becomes terrible!!, its starts out rly good and then incomes the disaster squad!, leave taylor on her own ffs, i don't need half naked panzies trying to ruin something good! Dx

  • damn...what a powerful song!

  • Good theme song to a mediocre movie! I would really like to see The Shadow re-made as a much better film but given Hollywood's track record with remakes that seems doubtful.

  • As a teenager in the 80's, I thought Jim Steinman's lyrics spoke to me.

I still think it's an excellent song, but growing up has it's advantages!

  • The Shadow! When Alec Baldwin was sexi!

  • Put this strong sexi voice and strong music together and you got perfection.

  • i seen the shadow i think it was a good show but it has been so long.

  • My fav Taylor Dayne song... sooo cool!

  • Jack Donaghy was a pimp back in the day!

  • I have listened to Meatloaf''s and Pandoras Box version of this song and there simply is no comparison. Taylor Dayne blows them away!!! Now if you had listened only to Meatloaf's version or Pandoras Box version, you might say, that was good, UNTIL you hear this version from Dayne. What an absolutely great artist!!!

  • At 1:40, this songs sounds like Celine Dion's "If You Touch Me Like This"

  • @tnttnt1959 both songs are written by the same person. jim steinman. he also wrote most of meatloafs songs. air supply's making love out of nothing at all, barry manilow's read em & weep, barbra streisand's left in the dark and of course bonnie tyler's total eclipse of the heart

  • @DIRTYBOY33460 She does a great on this song but I think Meat Loaf still does it better but that is me

  • i want to go back and insert the scene where the shadow is first seen with his cape flapping, it is absent in the movie.

  • @THESHADOW700 Heh, I always thought of the same.

  • She has a great voice, but The Shadow really sucked.

  • @sanction015 No it didn't.

  • I will respond with a very clever come back......Yes it did!

  • @sanction015 Arguments?

  • Halfway between Carly Simon and Bette Midler, I mean, her face !!! She is gorgeous !!!!!!!

  • Потрясающий голос! Необыкновенная певица!

  • This song always give me goose bumps everytime i hear it:)

  • Taylor...one of the most powerful, sexy, "I am woman hear me roar" voices out there.

  • She sounds like a female version of Meatloaf...

  • there is no one that could have done this song justice other than Taylor. Her Vocals with the arrangement is a perfect combination

  • This is where the idea for Celine Dion's "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" video/song came from! I love Taylor Dayne!!!!!

  • @polyprinz "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" was also written by Jim Stienmen.

  • Yeah I could picture Meatloaf in this... But Tayer Vocals just blow me away anyway but she IS the best choice for this!!! There is only 1 Ms.. Dane!!!

  • I'm 12 years old, what is this?

  • Comment removed

  • When it comes to songs written by Jim Stienmen, and performed by various artists, you have got to give Meatloaf his due... that Gothic voice of his is amazing. But even he can't bring it home the way Taylor Dayne can. I'd love to hear this one played on the radio more often

  • Love this video, Taylor's voice is just awesome! She can really bring it home.

  • dang, her powerful voice is giving me chills, it's just so spectacular

  • The Shadow known....

  • Love the dramatic look in her eyes.

  • I want a Shadow sequel!! The Shadow is the best superhero of all!

  • @CHIPHXMAN I would prefer a good quality re-make because the original Shadow was mediocre at best.

  • This song should be dubbed over the Alicia Keys and Jack White song Another Way To Die for the Bond movie Quantum of Solace. Excellent song for an excellent movie (The Shadow).

  • dude, when i was little, i loved this movie, i had a shadow DOLL! and i'm a 21 year old woman now lol.

  • OMG ! I love Taylor and her awesome voice. She did an outstanding job on this song !

  • This song is forever!!

  • I've always hated Jim Steinman's brand of cheesy, bombastic, neo-gothic-pop, but I admit I have always had a soft spot for this song. Maybe it's just because the lyrics are genuinely kind of twisted in an excessive sort of way. I have never understood why this wasn't a massive hit, yet idiotic tripe like "I would do anything for love" was. This song is way better than that one, but people kind of ignored it in all of its different incarnations (Dayne wasn't the first or last to sing it).

  • hot damn. a non grainy upload of this video! Taylor in a bllack dress/gown/whatever in HD. wow.

  • meatloaf version is better also check out the original by pandora's box a jim steinman produced girl group

  • This song is really good! I never watched the movie, is it any good? It looks like it is really good.

  • @dr12379 Sorry to disappoint you, but the movie is mediocre at best.

  • @xyPERSON Thanks for answering back :) I was going to get it, but my library doesn't have it and I don't want to waste money getting it. Thanks again :)

  • @xyPERSON I agree, the movie is not that good, but Penelope Ann Miller is aboslutely stunning in it. I always liked it for her alone to be honest.

  • Jim Steinman(sp) wrote this song. Same guy wrote most of Meat Loaf's hits. Meat Loaf actually sang this back in the day, but it wasn't as good as this version. Taylor Dayne's voice is really good for this song.

  • This movie needs a hardcore remake. Making it the gritty pulp nior movie it should have been.

  • Alec Bladwin should have been a HUGE star in comparsion to just being a very well known star ...turning down "patriot games" and "batman" 89 dropped him down off the list of "A" list big stars although in my opinion he always gives "A" list preformances.

  • totally amazing...she just rocks

  • Comment removed

  • Superb theme song to a mediocre movie!

  • @xyPERSON Hate to agreee with you, but sadly, you are dead on. Shame eh? If they would have taken the film in as serious as a direction as "The Dark Knight" This could have become a franchise. Not just a footnote in cinema history.

  • I always liked this ending song to the Shadow!!!! Taylor Dayne is in a class of her own ;)

  • it was also written by Meat Loaf, ( that much should be obvious)

  • @michaelcoulter1000 Meat Loaf writes none of the music he sings

  • one of the Best jams ever! Jim Steinman is a GOD!

  • Wow that was amazing! I want to see the movie now!!!

  • @Carlclassified can't tell if your being serious.

  • The Shadow rules!

  • Absurdly Intense!!!

  • Wow, never heard this before, amazing vocal!

  • sam raimi is directing the reboot of the shadow

  • @matrixlone If Shadow will be reboot... It's nise news!

  • @Drinkinskun first i heard sam raimi but now i think tarantino is going to direct

  • @LexDuarte Fantastic song.... i remember hearing this song once on the radio in early 90s, and never heard again... beautiful....

  • every video through this Vevo...has bad delay. All videos through them. Why?? My buffer is fine on all other videos, but VEVO's suck...

  • I thought it was just me... but they stop even when the vid is fully loaded to play! They all keep stopping!

  • @CrissySnow YEAH IT HAPPENS ALSO WITH POKER FACE... SUCK... ANYWAY TO GET VIDS APART FROM VEVO?
