Quick question; Instead of using a Mushroom on the bridge, why doesn't he use one directly after he's jumped the gap? He had to have lost some speed with the jump, and if he'd used the Mushroom directly after it, he would have hit his peak speed immediately. Curious.

What a load of absolute rubbish. In my opinion, the only valid records are set without using 'manual', in a standard kart and using one of the original mario characters (i.e. Mario, Luigi, Toad, Yoshi, Wario, Waluigi, DK, Bowser, Peach, Daisy, Koopa Troopa, King Boo).

Sub won't be easy. Take a look at the big boulder on lap 3 before the sc. It's about .3 ahead of where he was when he got past it. It'll be very tricky to sub and avoid that boulder.
