@Valador17 Yes there is. BUT this is the combination of Sonic 3 and Sonic and knuckles. If you have the genesis, and the cartridge of Both Sonic 3 and sonic and knuckles, you can put the Sonic 3 into the other catridge and play through both of the games to unlock the full story.

this is sonic 2 and knuckles cause in sonic 3 knuckles came originally so they didnt make a counter part of the game(and yes,i dont know what counterpart is)

By the time you finished the first stage you should have 3 emeralds (depending on how good you are). By the time you finished the second you should have at least six or seven if u r lucky. By the third stage you should have all seven.

@1170532 You get this game on the megadrive and Genesis when you use the Sonic and Knuckles Game and place the Sonic 3 Game in the top of it. But involving roms, you can just download this full thing easily XD

5:02--you were right the first time...ANY combination of Eggman slots and jackpots or 3 straight Eggman slots means you lose 100 RINGS! That means if you were already Super or Hyper Sonic/Knuckles with 100 rings left, you lose all that invincibility just like that!

the music changes after exiting that second ring because that level block is all technically act 2. The checkpoint ALSO changed the music in Sonic 3 alone (and if you glitch your way back there in act 2, you can go through with act 1's music)

You can indeed. BUT you have to off completed the whole game first(Angel Island to the end of Death Egg). Then you can go and back and grab the chaos emerald from the Sonic 3 levels...then upgrade them during the Sonic & Knuckle Segement

Getting blue spheres doesn't increase the speed of the special stage. The speed of the special stage increases depending on how long you've been playing it, regardless of whether you've gotten any blue spheres or not. Just to avoid confustion ;P

I went through those rocks with sonic once With debub mode and then it froze so you cant get there

Samething happened to me, no matter what you do you can't get through, unless you use Knuckles.

That part with the rocks was actually left over from when Sega wanted to make sonic 3 and sonic 3 & knuckles one game, but instead they had to release sonic and knuckles with the 'extra cart slot' as i like to call it, so you can get sonic 3 and knuckles so you can get past those rocks.
