thanks for making this video! i have a traxxas rustler (stock brushed) and i love bashing with it! im going to get the traxxas velineon system for it before i get any other RC. so after i do that im going to get either the E-maxx or E-revo, and i dont know wich one to get, at first i wanted the E-maxx, then i wanted the E-revo, and then i didnt know wich one i wanted. this video makes it clear that the the E-maxx is right for me. so thanks for making video, it helped alot!
i really liked the e-maxx, but when i saw how quick the e-maxx breaks parts, i prefer a newer model ( e-revo) because e-revo is newer, so better build and i found lost of vids on youtube from people breaking that same annoying part. btw good vid :)
I picked the E Revo. Why? Because it is a starter RC. I wanted a car but the roads are too rough. So I wanted something I could take on the grass and the road even if it is cracked and bumpy. Price played a factor in my choice as well. The 55 MPH was highly tempting for me. Again I do not plan to run in mud or water so that is why I chose the E Revo.
Three minutes of simple suspension adjustments without tools will allow you to manage jumps with the revo without problems anytime. Not to mention simple spring changes. The revo is a far superior vehicle in my opinion

@ferndogg310 - Yes. The comparison for the BL systems would be almost identical because the only thing that changed is that both got the Mamba Monster power system. So now they can BOTH use 6S lipo and BOTH do over 60 mph. Everything I said in this video still applies because the suspensions did not change on either truck, and they are still setup the same exact way. They are just both faster than greased lightning now. lol.

Great vid jetlag, and do all of you people know that erevo isnt only for racing right? You can raise it with the the 4 camber screws or whatever there called to clear all of the rocks that you do with the emaxx,
if I may say, you did forget one thing, the E-Revo is also the much younger truck, and when I say this I mean that the E-Maxx is the grandad of almost all powerhouse electric RC trucks. and unlike most things, the Maxx has aged quite well

um i saw this video and decided on the revo but now im trying to decide between a summit or the e-revo brushless edition. if i were to get the summit i would like to throw in a brushless combo(i live in kauai and dont have anywhere to crawl). mostly bashing. ty
Man i dont no, i have a hard time using my e maxx and not wrecking it when doing some pretty serious bashing. landing wrong from any great hieght always breaks a shock, a arm, body mount or a bulk head. I like the truck but i can not break my e revo except for when running into a stop sign pole going pretty fast. I had the same issues with my t-maxx a few years ago. E revo is the better option in my opinion for any condition running. however i did like your video good imformation!!!

i wouldent say that the e revo is a racer sure its better at raceing but it can bash as good as the maxx if not better and that suspension set up makes it amazing for jumps

hey jetlag i was wondering what you think im 12 yrs old and for christmas im getting my first rc vehicle i cant decide whether to get the slash 4x4 or the brushed e maxx i wont be able to afford to upgrade to brushless for a wwhile and i was thinking slash 4x4 but now im sort of half and half what do you think i 85% sure im getting the slash cause i live really far away from the closest hobby store is far away im gonna be bashing in water and mud mostly no racing but i like the slash more kinda
@x18xShOoTeRx18x you should get an e-maxx because they are stronger and go through more mud better for jumping and rough terrain the slash is more for racing and wont get over any rough terrain and go through mud because of how low it is to the ground my freind has a slash and it bottoms out going of of small jumps and they are a bit more fragile so i am 99.9 percent sure you should get the emaxx for what you are going to be doing if you dont have an rc track around you should go with the max

Have got a e-revo with twin titans and also e-revo brushless 2200kv castle creation with the mamba monster and use that for racing on cement they are great and good speed

Hey, I have a E-Revo just like the one in the video. This is an awesome, helpful video but you left out a couple things.
1: When it showed the shocks bottoming out after that little puny bump of a jump, there is an easy solution: simply turn the adjust knob on all the shocks clockwise until it won't turn any further = tightened the shocks.
2: Next to the tires there are 3 small holes on the bottom A-arm. Move the "push rod" to the the 3rd hole inward = more clearance.
this is a good video and helped me in my decision but the e-revo comes with a body rocker set (im not sure if thts wat its called) which u can increase the overall ground clearance of the truck so if u installed the body rockers you wouldnt necessary bottom out you suspension on jumps
the only high point of the e maxx this video is based on..which is the ride height can be changed with Included long travel rocker set. and it will still handle better
You seem very opinionated and I'm sure the EREVO is the right choice for you. However, the true test of ANY model-car, plane, boat, etc. is how much fun you get by driving and owning it. By that standard both models are wildly popular. The EREVO is a technical masterpiece and I love it, but the EMAXX has classic monster truck looks and handling which many people (myself included) enjoy greatly. So get the one you like most, but don't try to force others to your viewpoint. :)
@jetlag2222 i spent months over thinking which one to get. i actually wanted an e maxx at first. But quickly the entire rc community steered me toward the e revo. it has a cutting edge design that is bewilderingly durable, handling is a big deal i messaure the worth of an rc by how many times i have to walk out and flip it back over he he the revo is also very easY to work on a arms for example are easier to replace. its not an opinion not being attacked by a bear is better than being attacked.
I agree we all have diferent preferences and diferent needs I've had both and both are bad ass trucks speed and all that are up to you and how much money you want to drop on it

Yes. Pretty easy. but you will have to cut new holes for the mounts because they are in different places on the 2 models. But I have done it several times with no problems.
so i have a question if i wanted could i put the longer rocker arms on the erevo and make it the height of the emaxx and wont bottom out but, has the handling also?

How would the savage flux be compared to the E-REVO or E-MAXX? I've been looking into buying an E-REVO and just saw some good things about the flux but personally the flux almost seems "cheaper quality" I know flux is more basher than racer compared to the Revo and i like racing more so should i even consider the flux?
Both great truck i have had both, and raced them both. I have noticed on offroad tracks that i can out run most if not all with the E-Maxx.(Stiffer springs are the key plus toe-in and just a tad of camber) I got where the E-Maxx would slide and notflip around turns, while at a certain speed the E-Revo would flip, because it got too much traction . They are still both great trucks though

@x18xShOoTeRx18x you should get an e-maxx because they are stronger and go through more mud better for jumping and rough terrain the slash is more for racing and wont get over any rough terrain and go through mud because of how low it is to the ground my freind has a slash and it bottoms out going of of small jumps and they are a bit more fragile so i am 99.9 percent sure you should get the emaxx for what you are going to be doing if you dont have an rc track around you should go with the max

My first was an E-maxx, 2nd is an E-revo brushless 6s lipo.
I gave the E-maxx to my 5 year old daughter.
The E-revo brushless is the only car you need, ever! Bash,thrash,race,crazy speed.

do you ver try to tune up the E-Revo suspensions ? The E-Revo in this video has low GC, but if you want you can put it higher than E-Maxx.
I,ve got both: E-Maxx and E Revo and i think E-Revo is better because you can put it high and go bashig better than E-Maxx or put it low for race and good cornering.

Hey, I have a E-Revo just like the one in the video. This is an awesome, helpful video but you left out a couple things.
1: When it showed the shocks bottoming out after that little puny bump of a jump, there is an easy solution: simply turn the adjust knob on all the shocks clockwise until it won't turn any further = tightened the shocks.
2: Next to the tires there are 3 small holes on the bottom A-arm. Move the "push rod" to the the 3rd hole inward = more clearance.

this is a good video and helped me in my decision but the e-revo comes with a body rocker set (im not sure if thts wat its called) which u can increase the overall ground clearance of the truck so if u installed the body rockers you wouldnt necessary bottom out you suspension on jumps

You seem very opinionated and I'm sure the EREVO is the right choice for you. However, the true test of ANY model-car, plane, boat, etc. is how much fun you get by driving and owning it. By that standard both models are wildly popular. The EREVO is a technical masterpiece and I love it, but the EMAXX has classic monster truck looks and handling which many people (myself included) enjoy greatly. So get the one you like most, but don't try to force others to your viewpoint. :)

@jetlag2222 i spent months over thinking which one to get. i actually wanted an e maxx at first. But quickly the entire rc community steered me toward the e revo. it has a cutting edge design that is bewilderingly durable, handling is a big deal i messaure the worth of an rc by how many times i have to walk out and flip it back over he he the revo is also very easY to work on a arms for example are easier to replace. its not an opinion not being attacked by a bear is better than being attacked.

Yes. Pretty easy. but you will have to cut new holes for the mounts because they are in different places on the 2 models. But I have done it several times with no problems.

How would the savage flux be compared to the E-REVO or E-MAXX? I've been looking into buying an E-REVO and just saw some good things about the flux but personally the flux almost seems "cheaper quality" I know flux is more basher than racer compared to the Revo and i like racing more so should i even consider the flux?

Both great truck i have had both, and raced them both. I have noticed on offroad tracks that i can out run most if not all with the E-Maxx.(Stiffer springs are the key plus toe-in and just a tad of camber) I got where the E-Maxx would slide and notflip around turns, while at a certain speed the E-Revo would flip, because it got too much traction . They are still both great trucks though
