Do you really have to turn your head when changing lanes? I'm scared to do that in case the car in front of me abruptly stops or something. I usually take a look at my mirrors. Is that bad?
@goshiluvarchie Do it one second, and if you need to, repeat the one second head turn again if safe, and if you need to maintain your present lane and its unsafe to switch you should maintain
I appreciate you showing the car signaling, but why did you never once actually mention the importance of signaling? You speak of watching the surroundings and how your actions affect others, but without people signaling, others are not notified of one's intentions and can't make informed decisions.
One thing I don't like about WA is that when you try change lane many people speed up to pass you even if they are 200 ft away from you, they push the pedal to the medal but they just won't let you change lane
And always your daytime lights to make you more visible to other drivers, especially when their driving into a blinding sun. Any driving instructor who doesn't use dipped lights is not an experienced driver.
I am taking my test tomorrow. I am SO nervous. I lost my sister at 13 to a speeding drunk driver, it happened right before my eyes, and as a result of that I have put off getting my license until now. I am 28 and years of stressing over this have built up to this moment. Ugh. I wish I didn't have to take it! :S I just hope I get a friendly examiner! :)
@SaintElin I totally know what you mean, I'm 26 and also have tremendous anxiety about taking my test tomorrow morning!! I hope you past, and I hope I pass tomorrow too! :)
ugh i hate looking over the shoulder ..im going for my second driving lesson saturday and just had my first yesterday and i was about to go off the road lol....same with when i was backing up..oh well
@bittercoffee2 then the driving instructor would tell the police that he is a washington state certified driving instructor conducting an exam, and the cop would be on his merry way.
@MrOnThaRIZ3 Forgive me for replying like this, but I thought the same at first. Then when I tried to change lanes at one point, I didn't see a car coming up right next to me and almost got hit. Sure, you don't want to take them off the road for TOO long, but if you don't take the time to look, you may get in an accident. ^^;
@MrOnThaRIZ3 and not looking into the lane in which you're turning is stupid. You can cause an accident, hit a bicyclist, ect. It's a split second that you turn and look. Any GOOD driver turns their head and looks in which the direction they are turning.

@goshiluvarchie Yes, when it's safe to do so, you always want to check your blind spots before changing lanes.

and btw if you do that many lane changes you'd probably get pulled over by the cops down here in Texas....
