@glamOUrXem- Lorrie didn't mean it to sound like Julie Andrews. That would be quite dull, to sing it the same way as another already did. Almost any trained soprano can sing this song like Andrews. Andrews' version has always been too stage-y & quite boring to my ears, & I'm a classically-trained mezzo soprano myself. I enjoy show tunes & soundtracks. But Lorrie's version has better instrumentation than Andrews', is more dramatic & her strong alto voice really works beautifully with the lyrics.

Lorrie Morgan is great. I love her voice, so pure. I first heard about her after being introduced to Patty Loveless. A great song too, one of my Christmas favorites!

Ironically enough I never cared for Lorrie before this song came out and she did such a brilliant job with it as well as the entire Merry Christmas From London CD which is still my favorite Christmas album.
