I have loved this song since I was a little girl & my husband took me to see Lorrie Morgan when she was in spokane. I was SOOO excited to get to see her in person &...she sang the song!!
I love this song from The Sound Of Music it's always been of my favorites. I even sing it during a thunder storm or during christmas when they play it.
It's been a long time since I've seen this video (back when music video channels actually had music videos). Sadly, I thought of this video today because I was reading the news about the economy. There's a lot of people in her position!
The ending of the video included a message for people to remember the homeless and help them so they can regain their life. Lorrie's version is more haunting than Julie Andrews.
This has always been one of my favourite things! I love the song and the video. I remember the first time I saw it many years ago. I wanted to be her and have her voice. Merry Christmas to you all and may God Bless you this and every season!
Wonderful song as done by Lorrie alone! Funny how it reminds us all of someone who has gone on..it was the last song my sister left us memories with. Twenty-two yrs. and she is still with us, especially thru this song! Thank you!
This video HAS to be inspired by Anastasia. Or the scene from Anastasia was inspired by this video. One or the other. It's WAY too similar to be coincidence.
Beautiful cover of the song though<3 I love her voice...and her hair cut =D
I'm on the verge of tears here! I've spent two years looking for this song every since hearing it on the radio and I finally have it!!!! Thank you soooo much for uploading this!!!!
Thanks for posting this video.. never take it down... :-) I looked forever for this.. make my day begin on a good note and feel good when I am feeling bad.
So many of us have experienced the negative side of "panhandlers" that we tend to forget there is a much larger group of homeless that shy away from public interaction. It's hard for us to comprehend that most had lives, careers and families before ending up on the street. This video reminds us of the human side of these "shadows" we blindly pass on the street. ... Thanks for posting!!!!!!
@glamOUrXem- Lorrie didn't mean it to sound like Julie Andrews. That would be quite dull, to sing it the same way as another already did. Almost any trained soprano can sing this song like Andrews. Andrews' version has always been too stage-y & quite boring to my ears, & I'm a classically-trained mezzo soprano myself. I enjoy show tunes & soundtracks. But Lorrie's version has better instrumentation than Andrews', is more dramatic & her strong alto voice really works beautifully with the lyrics.
Lorrie Morgan is great. I love her voice, so pure. I first heard about her after being introduced to Patty Loveless. A great song too, one of my Christmas favorites!
No way, I had this CD and this was easily my favorite song (I didn't know Julie Andrews sang it first.) Thank you for uploading this, didn't realize there was a music video to it.
Love this video and they don't play it anymore. Thanks for this. I love the way she sings this song,I have her Christmas CD.She is beautiful and has a great voice.
5 marriages later and declared bankrupt late last year. Trainwreck of Emotion indeed. Class video and always a favourite/favorite(for our American friends).
we don t even have it in the states. Gaylord whet bust. I do miss the shows. But that s life. By the way What part of the UK? I was there last January.
YAAAAY!!! OMG I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOR FOREVER! It was one of my FAVORITES when I was little, and I love her Christmas album! THANK YOUUUU, LORRIE ROCKS FOREVER!
This is one of my autistic daughter's favorite Christmas songs. She loves this song and video. Thank you for uploading. I'm adding it ot my favorites for her. Please don't remove it.
I want to thank you for posting this video. We all have sentimental things and this is one of mine. My Grandfather passed in January at 93, he worked in Nashville as a song writer for 55 years and wrote songs for everyone that is anyone including Lorrie Morgan and Keith Whitley...Thanks for this.. David from Lexington, KY
I understand exactly what you mean about sentimentality. I LOVE this song and this video. Ironically enough I never cared for Lorrie before this song came out and she did such a brilliant job with it as well as the entire Merry Christmas From London CD which is still my favorite Christmas album. Thanks for the post and sharing. :)
This song will bring a tear to your eye.......if you have a heart!
