I had the 400 max 2004 for 2 years, and in the last year I have the 800, never had a single problem with both! The 800 is a monster! So strong and comfortable, nothing like it..
I am in love with these machines! No one comes close...
I don't know why people are talking bad or saying stuff like buy one and watch the frame break, my mom bought the fucking first models of the fucking first year they made them and the only problem we had with it was because we weren't going fast enought for the engine to coool off so the seat melted, since that, still running like a charm, still out pulls everything except my ds in a drag :D and the frame is okay and I don't know how many times I had to hit a rock under it because of the mudholes
I heard that the dealers have a hard time getting paid by Can Am for warranty work. The dealer would rather tell the customer that the failure is not covered by warranty since they are more likely to get paid by the consumer than Can Am. What good is a three year warranty if nobody is willing to do the work?
@ChuckNLead67 That's bullshit! Find another respectable dealer then. As long as the atv is left stock throughout the warranty period you will never have a warranty problem. You want to start modifying the hell out of them then of course BRP will not cover it. BRP has been around a loooong time and they know how to look after respectful customers.
I got a 500xt 3 months ago, what a heap of s££t. Always something wrong with it, dealer was here twicw last week to fix power steering and park break. Still say maintanance required all the time, seems to be mainly electrical faults. The rear light bulb blew out and the bike would only work in safe mode..... rediculous!!! Dont buy one
@osty123 Better yet, perhaps you should find a better dealer that knows what they're doing. Do you or your dealer not why you're "maintanence required" reminder is on? Good grief man.

They brought these bikes to australia to go in a 600km outback race and they didn't even last the race without breaking alot of things on them like the fuel pumps and transmission belts. these bikes suck. go hard and ride nice, but still suck
ppl say the warranty misleading well yea that may be the case but u ppl are lucky u get a 3yr warranty extra payment or not so then wen u get a 6 month standard warranty u ppl think its bad its not bad
My hondas made it 21 years n still runs like a champ but god i want one o them outlanders or renegades I dont need a 3 yr warranty to buy one id kill myself n 2 days on one lol looks like a blast
@atrockersbest yeah nothing out last the honda i had an 83 xl250 dirtbike that knocked and smoked rattled and i sold it after it locked up on me and the guy who bough pull started it and it unlocked the motor hes still riding that bike to this day still knocking and smoking rattling how many other bikes can u say that bout the can ams are nice bikes but they will not hold up to a honda in reliabilty
I'm glad I did a little research. I don't know exactly how much the warranty costs but it seems like the higher price of the vehicle is not due to the quality but the cost of the 3 year warranty. I read that some people get a good price and then only get the 6 month warranty. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!
Best machines out there, nothing compares. But you need to be more consistant on the warranty. All the ads say 3 year warranty as if it's standard but that's kinda misleading because if the dealer does not activate it, the buyer only gets 6 months. Happens all too often even when they do not take any of the other deals such as the financing. The customer doesn't find out until down the road when service is needed. Time to make it standard or remove the 3 year warranty info from the ads.
bull shit canam suck yeah they r fast but my friend has a canam outlander 400 and in one year it broke the drive shaft and shocks
