As far as the evidence is concern the names that you mentioned are myths and only written as Gods of Egyptians and others. The books unearthed "Jubilees" show a consistancy found it in the bible. Archeological findings have proof the existance or recorded findings mentioned in the bible. What more do you need?

in Islam, the day of judgment or final day is not known, the same with time of death of a person. Basically, as far as I know, 2012 doesn't mean anything specific to Muslims. Muslims have to be prepared to face death or final day everyday when they wake up. If the time of death/final day is known, people would just ignore everything God said, do evil and stuff, and then repent just before the day occur.
so if you are convinced of the truth, why wait?

In the Quran it does say that Jews moved things in the Old Testament from their places. Thus they tampered with the true message, thus God sent Jesus to correct the Jews, but they killed him. The old testament was rewritten during the Roman occupation of Palestine and almost the entire Middle East. The Roman empire had banned the Jewish religion and their books, and ordered all Jewish scriptures and synagogues destroyed. Rabbis who had memorized it rewrote it after the ban was lifted.

The maseehh means the one who wipes his hand and heals by it from the root masahha. Unfortunately those who translated the word, translated it wrong. Do not take every thing you read as the faultless word of God. The Bible has problems with it.

Will say more on this later, but the fact is that while drunkenness is warned against throughout the Bible (in both Old and New testaments), the "drink offerings" were part of the Temple worship. The part about not drinking wine before going into the tent of meeting was an early rule for the priests (again, a warning against drunkenness). There were times that holy men were not supposed to have sex with their wives as well, that does not mean it was universally to be forbidden in Old Covenant

I encourage all ppl. of all faiths to read it(and other books of religion too of course) theres a lot of parables and metaphors that if understood can provide its readers with much wisdom. And using rationale and reason apply what you learned to everyday life. ON the other hand; Ppl for centuries use religion to establish divisions b/c they dont want to be ruled by others. Even w/in the same religion ppl. separate for independent rule.

XSC3, we still keep the covenant of Circumcision that was between Abraham and God. We offer five times daily prayers. We fast. We give alms, and we do the pilgrimage to the holy of holies in Makka following the steps of Abraham.
It was the Jews that were following the wrong calendar in reference to the sabbath. This is actually mentioned in the Dead Sea Scrolls.
The Quran is the reminder of the lost tradtions of the prophets. It accepts what was true in scriptures, and rejected the false.

Well for example drinking wine is part of the Covenant with God, but Muslims changed that, and they even admit it was a later change (at first, Muhammad upheld it). Jesus was a wine drinker, and commanded wine drinking. So Taqwafirst, the assertion that Islam only "restored" what was "corrupted" within the previous revelations is not true. It has added and changed things as well, and educated Muslims admit this.

You are wrong XSC3. Drinking wine was to be gone according to the prophecies of the Bible. Mohammad is the repairer and restorer that Isaiah talk about:
12 And [they that shall be] of thee shall build1 the old waste places: thou shalt raise up34 the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called,The repairer6 of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
Islam is the true religion of God. The hous of God in Makka is the true temple of God.

Translations very often do not convey the original message. The Greek Gospel was a copy of a copy of a copy, not just the original copy. If you watch misquoting Jesus youtube video, you will probably understand that.

The Quran we have today is an edited copy of a copy as well. The History Channel is not the final authority on anything. The arguments are only as good as their sources (and so you have to look at the SCHOLARS not the amateurs like Freke & Gandy) whom they quote and track down those arguments from context. Scholars are often sound byted in these programs out of context to make them sound more extreme or sensational (Elaine Pagels is a notorious example).

The Quran is different from the Bible. The Quran was memorized as a whole before it was written down in the form of a book by a large number of people. The Quran is read and completed at least once in the month of Ramadan by the Imam, the leader of Prayer, and if he makes mistake, he is corrected by anyone in the congregation. Even if Quran was not to be written, it would be still kept, because every generation memorizes it because every one is required to read from it in their prayers.

just fyi man..read the story of how Umar Ibn Khattab embraced Islam. I think it would give u an idea of whether Qur'an is being written or not in the time of the Prophet saw. =)

Abraham was given "Scrolls"? There's no evidence for this (the Mormons claim to have it, but Egyptologists have proven these were completely mistranslated, and have nothing to do with Abraham or his time period). Jesus was "given" a book? Sorry, but that contradicts what you just said. David is only responsible for a portion of the psalms.

According to the Quran the word of God, Abraham received the Scrolls. Jesus was given the Injeel. Injeel is the title of the doctrine he had received, Just the Torah is a title of the Book of Moses.

XSC3, Mohammad came at a time where the land of Arabia was filled with idols. Persia and Bablyon (Iraq today) were Fire worshippers. The Pagan Romans were in the land of Palestine, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey. During the time of Mohammad, he abolished all idols in Arabia, and the people of Perisa, and Babylon were converted to Muslims and worhipped the creator of the Universe. The Romans were defeated.

The fast spread of a religion isn't a guarantee of its truth though, I'm sure you agree (especially when that success is suspiciously aided by military conquest and enforced conversions).
