Ill agree that these submissions are pretty lame but I am pretty sure that the ref in the third submission clip is Steve Mazzagatti (sp?) and he refs for the UFC now and is a good ref. Sometimes it is hard to tell if they are out or not. He didnt tap or anything...

Maybe you should research before you speak, mazagatti isn't "in the ufc" he is an employee of the athletic commission and the a/c has sole discretion on who they use for reffing, has nothing to do with the ufc.

Of course dana doesn't choose who refs the fights, the "government" in fact does. The athletic commissions that sanction fights are a government ran agency, ran by the state. That's what your not understanding, he doesn't "ref for them" he refs for the athletic commissions and gets paid by the atheletic commision. Even tho he refs in ufc events he has nothing to do with the ufc and in most cases the promoter will never even speak to refs or judges, they do their job and then fly home right after
