  • wow! windows runs on arm via x86 emlator! fantastic!

  • can't you send me an link.

  • @sukhi2000 youtube does not allow links, open a thread in the forums

  • @alerinofilho they do in the description :D

  • I couldn't find it as you written.

  • @sukhi2000 search "Windows" for titles only

  • How did you work windows 95 on pandora.

  • @sukhi2000 there's a thread in the official openpandora boards, search title for Pandora running Windows 95

  • roflmicky

  • hmm, I've heard qemu is faster when it comes to this.

  • I will buy a Pandora just for this , SCUMMVM and all 8/16/32 bit emulators . I serously want to play Diablo on the Pandora .

  • @Andermetal1 for scummvm and emulators, perfect, for Diablo, maybe PSX version, but not fullspeed . Anyway, Pandora is the best handheld i've ever seen

  • Cool! I'm thinking of purchasing a Pandora. I have a few questions-

    1)How did you overclock it?

2)How well does it run in 600mHz?

    Thanks.

  • @retronuggetdev

there's an option in the menu - System - CPU-Speed. You can go safely up to 820mhz. With an updated script that jdbye (from the forums) wrote, you can overvolt it and go up to 1 ghz. At 600 mhz you can run most of the apps with no performance problems. Now with N64 and PSX emus and heavier apps like Firefox, OpenOffice, debian extend, you should go up a bit.

    Regards

  • @retronuggetdev

at pandorapress net , search for debian, click on the second result. there's additional info about it.

  • @alerinofilho So no instability at 820mHz or 1gHz with the updated script? That's pretty cool. I'm gonna order one of these asap, I just need the time/money.

  • @retronuggetdev no instability. At stock voltage (OPP3), 820-880 mhz seems to be the maximum. OPP4 at 900mhz also runs great. Since it's an ARM processor, it will not melt, just reduce lifespan from like 10 to 5 years (in case you run it like that 24-7), which may not be the case :)

  • @alerinofilho Heh yeah I don't plan on skipping eating, sleeping, school, and the interwebs to play my Pandora however tempting it may be :). I've done Windows 95 in Dosbox before, but never on a Pandora. Did you just create a Windows 95 boot image/disk and load it using the IMGMOUNT and BOOT commands? Or something else?

  • @retronuggetdev i used bochs to create a specific DOS image, installed windows on it, imgmount and boot commands, but i have to admit, Win95 on Pandora is close to useless, i did it only for the sake of cross-platform purposes.

  • @alerinofilho Ah. Yep that's what I did too, for DOSBox for Mac OS X. I'll probably just be able to use the same image.
