  • This video, is fucked. Hes talking retardedly fast, theres sound for about 5 seconds then the vid pauses, and you press play again, he talks fucking fast for the remaining 2:40 ...

  • Someone at youtube has altered this video.......please speak out negative forces are being paid toxic money to interrupt the natural evolution of humanity, its time to break out of the death trap and rat cage of evil expirementation to be free as the universe intended so shall it be.

  • Word ! Completely agee.

  • yes. i always take people who look like this seriously. LOL. smoke some more weed and mumble to the internet more. we're all ears, 70's fossil, all ears.

  • Lol "..once you lose your own predjudices.."

2008 U-tube award for irony, right there.

  • U're preaching 2 a 21st century with theories a few centuries old. I certainly don't believe in d folly of a 12000year-old-world - but I'm in no way willing 2 swap 1 dogma with another. Darwin's theory is full of holes. Basically it seems to me that d ''atheist camp'' have become overly gung-ho 2 shoot down everything that d Creationists camp could use. And in this drive u support another false paradigm.

U're preaching about a world of newtonian phisics as if quantum phisics doesn't exist.

  • epigenetics is the code in genetics that causes gene expression ...how a heart cell becomes a hear cell ...skin cell ...liver cell etc... epigenetics is the software to the dna hardware. Watch the NOVA program "Goast in our Genes"

  • Darwin said:As my conclusions have lately been much misrepresented, and it has been stated that I attribute the modification of species exclusively to natural selection, I may be permitted to remark that in the first edition of this work, and subsequently, I placed in a most conspicuous position—namely at the close of the Introduction—the following words: "I am convinced that natural selection has been the main but not the exclusive means of modification." This has been of no avail.

  • OK now he's had his rant in his abusive way, if any of you actually want to understand what epigenetics actually is look on wikipedia. There is a nice link from the BBC at the bottom. And guess what? It only means that DNA molecules are not enough to explain inheritance. Big deal. Does not prove anything one way or the other, and 2bsirius did not make any claims, just said "hey look at this". Inmendham, you are doing a real good impression of being an asshole.

  • Its not an impression. ;)

  • Yeah man, it's not about altrusism.... man

    it's programmed slavery :)

I'm sorry but your tone and long hair made that sound just hilarious.

seriously though for the most part you are correct about epigenetics. Keep in mind though epigenetics is a vastly expanding field. I do not anticipate any major chagnes in the modern synthesis that is biology.

  • You mention epigenetics in your video. Your references are obviously directed to the fact that epigenetics don't modify the genome. But, by modulating the output of protein transcription the phenotype is modified. This modification can be transferred to subsequent generations. I'm not sure what gripe you have with epigenetics but try to clarify your intent so you point comes through more clearly.

  • sir you are so full of shit its epic

  • ok . . so in a nutshell . . we view the world by asking can i eat it , or can i fuck it , ive no problem with this, just dont wana be shark food just yet.great vid mate.

  • The other option, apart from the one mentioned in my other comment on this page, is to delve into those "crude forces", let us say there is a crude force that is analogous to selfishness and another crude force analogous to generosity. This is like much science, you can't have an acid without the concept of an alkali, or a north pole without a south in magnetism. So you need to say what you mean by a force in general. For example if the only force is selfishness you cant explain its opposite.

  • The other comment I mention here seems to have disappeared: on Immendham and crude forces.

They are crude perhaps but he is as bad as his opponents in calling them selfish. His opponents call them generous or caring. So Immendham forget about selfish nature, the pleasure seeking drive, if you are not prepared to look at any other drives. Enough to leave your comments at the notion of crude forces in general, if you need to go further, you'll need at least two forces or poles.

  • Dude your a pretty smart fellow. I think your explantion is way to simple, "cheese chasing bacteria with brains" If we all are what you say then how do you explain all the fantastic creativity that is in our everyday lives. Even you are more then your simplistic explantion. You done some 700 + Videos. I'm sure your motivation for doing all these videos is more then the fact you are a bacteria with a brain. Being somewhat negative person myself, I even try on occasion to be postive about life.

  • It seems you can beat them over the head with the truth over and over and it never sinks in.

  • funny that.

  • One of your best ever. There is nothing to left to learn and, still, people refuse to learn that.

  • "A bigger club to club our neighbors to death with"

Nothing has changed in 60,000 years. Yes we need to go back to basics and concentrate on living life.

  • You are rude.

  • Don't confuse rudeness with honesty.

  • Don't confuse confusion with honesty.

  • "Don't confuse confusion with honesty."

That comment inspired me to go to your channel to see if I could figure out what was wrong with you. Now that I see that you are just a child with no brains, this conversation is over. Come back in ten or fifteen years junior...

  • Thanks...

  • don't talk to my son like that buddy, he's got more talent in his mutated claw hand than you have in your entire family tree.

  • "don't talk to my son like that buddy,"

It's true. The acorn doesn't fall far from the tree.

  • he was adopted.

and i hate to break it to you...

    so were you.

  • I was? I didn't know that. Perhaps I should talk to my one living parent about that.

I was going to appologise (but you blocked me) because we got off on a bad foot. But only because you decided to defend your son. You should to let him fight his own battles if you expect him to grow up. It is most likely your fault that he talks the way he does. All children are born without any knowlege. (brains) They must be taught everything but allowed to fight their own battles.

    I appologise.

  • Ok

Perhaps you lack the knowledge (brains) to know how to apologise, so I will pass this knowledge onto you: If you wish to apologise to a person, try not to insult them twice whilst you are making the apology. I hope this knowledge helps you grow into an adult. Thank you, bye.

  • OK never mind. I can not see where I insulted you. I take back the apology in it's entirety. This is why you and all the other dumb fucks in the world are at war all the time. Now THAT's an insult!

  • You think that was rude? You ain't listened to the man much have ya?

  • Also, you talk about life been created as in layers over layers...creating complexity over time.

I am an artist, If I blindly put a layer of paint over another layer of paint, over and over and over again, do you know what I will have created? MUD color.

The Universe is not Muddy. The Universe is an amazing place. It's beautiful. The flowers, the sunsets, the trees, everything in nature is a work of ART. Not to mention the perfect laws of nature and math. It's all finely tuned...no muddy.

  • Jesus left us some instructions on how to live. He spent his entire 33 years teaching us and he was killed. You may think Christianity is BS... but that is your opinion. Also, since you like to study and seem educated, research Jehovah's Witnesses and see how different they are from other Chrisitan Sects. See how they don't belive in the Trinity, Burning Hell, and see what the Bible really teaches. False Christianity has put a bad name to the Bible and God..and that is why Atehism is so popular.

  • If what you say is true, if we are just bacteria with brain, Wow, what a sad life.

The problem is Love. You say that we are selfish, cheese chasers. Yes most people are...but they are out of their free will.

But some people are loving and sacrifice all they have for one another. We are capable of been selfish like bacteria, but we are also capable of been kind, gentle and loving.

That and the supernatural experiences I have experience makes be a believer is God. Anyway, peace.

  • good video. Some good points. People are are going overboard with systems biology and epigenetics. They are good concepts, but they are not replacements of darwin basics yet. They just add to it.

    Cold as ice huh,lol.

  • i don't like cheese very much...can i be a meat chaser instead? lol.nice video man!!

  • There's an industry built from/on all the extra add-ons to the basic/relevant equation of evolution...

  • This isn't good for our economy!

  • so is it fertilizer without brain or brain with bacteria on it? point is: it's both. and your disdain for science when it suits you is pathetic.

  • well said. i must always stipulate my objection to the "cheese chaser" analogy because i will not surrender to that idea.

  • I love you Gary!

  • Right on the money as always. Let's admit what we are and move forward.

  • frivolous lawsuit

  • one could argue we are captive to our programming. we slave for an elite ruling class.

  • So while i agree with the conclusions of most of your analysis you make no room for relativity.

  • Well said. At the risk of being "righty wrongy" i offer this critique. Nature is not god yes but nature is not shit either.I would concede it is crude and that crudeness and natures "mistakes" have been sorted out over great periods time especially for humans and especially genetically. We are complex as result and are chiocefully altruistic. Your value to alleviate suffering is not only practical. It also is meaningful for you and i would suspect at least a handful of others.

  • Human beings 50,000 years ago did not dominate nature. Actually the newest research is showing that at one point about 70,000 years ago, there were as few as 2,000 homo sapiens on earth. Domination began when what you describe as the "intellect" evolved. I would call it paternalistic, authoritarian religion. Prior to this "progression," humans were goddess worshipping hunter/gatherers living in small villages.

  • and had no sense or rigorous study psycology, knowledge of the science you appreciate or the technology to live beyond 40

  • They had none of the technology we recognize today, but I am not convinced they were entirely ignorant of what we call the psyche. In fact, I have a feeling they knew a lot more about human nature than modern psychology lets on.

Technology brought us many advancements, but it remains to be seen if the paternalistic and domineering culture that accompanied it can be separated from the benefits, or if the two are too intimately related to keep only the technology.

  • But you are altruistic.

  • they dominated because of the flowering of human culture AND tools.

  • otherwise, good video. you make more sense when calm. not as much fun though.

  • Gary just scoffed at damaged (mutated) DNA being passed on, then with a straight face says DNA randomly adds beneficial features as time goes on. DNA must therefore have God-like consciousness in order to self-program itself.

  • Kewlios

  • Now we've just got to get you to believe there's a programmer. (GOD)

  • epigenetics: yes it just adds on to darwin's theories, does not go against them, and, from my perspective, doesn't have the profundity that natural selection theory had. nevertheless, it is real, and the difference bet epigenetics and regular genetics is that, whie as you say, regular genetics involves dna damage and mutation,

  • epigenetics has to do with genes being turned on or off, for example by the addition of special additional chemical markers on the surrounding histones, processes known as methylation, acetylation, ubiquitiation. it is developmental change. via epigenetics two twins could end up where one has a disease and the other does not. there is a wikipedia article on it that looks decent.

  • oh - and i just did a pub med search for epigenetics and it pulled up over 23,000 papers and 4000 reviews published in journals like nature, science etc. i don't ask that you call it profound. i only ask that you realize it is "real science." and if my asking doesn't help, i shall point out that it makes you look very uneducated. hehe.

  • well put eloquent video *****

  • nice great point

  • Dude, why do you bother with those clowns?

To be Serious slams Darwin saying that his theory is "140 years old" like that proves anything! She thinks Evolution is old news. I say BULLSHIT!!!!!

  • FIRST!!!!! YET AGAIN!!!!!

  • "FIRST!!!!! YET AGAIN!!!!!"

Good job! You did it, you're first! What are you going to do with your life now? Is there anything higher? You may as well just lay down and die now, there will never be anything this satisfying again for you.
