The people left probably had no transportation due to the fact they had no drivers for all of the school buses (what they said, anyway) which flooded where they stood because the Mayor didn't send them in time for the mandatory evacuation. On top of that, the Superdome already was holding 3 times more people than it was designed for! And stick YOUR ass out there in the 9th Ward with no way out, & see if YOU don't seek food & water!

what happened in la was terrible. that being said, if the levees had held, new orleans would have been fine. i dont believe thats bushs fault. what happened in mississippi was much worse.

The failure with Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans exposed the disregard that our politicians have for it's black citizens here in Louisiana. SHAME ON YOU George Bush for blunders with Katrina. SHAME ON YOU Governor Blanco for, among so many other things, ordering soldiers to shoot people caught looting. And SHAME ON YOU Bobby Jindal, for coming to her defense when the president rightly scolded her for her performance. I wish Blanco would have ran again just to see her lose.

Thanks again, pvt. It took 3 YEARS before I knew New Orlleans would survive.. It took almost 4 years before I knew Pass Christian, MS (the home of my 80 year old mother) would survuve. Thank you America, The American government was of very little help. I wanted to put on my tax payments "For what?".
