The Gurus used the Hindu term for God because to them all the names of God from various faiths are speaking of ONE GOD - doesn't matter what name you use, it was all the same to the Guru Jis. Many Hindus want India to be Hindu Nation but countries based on religion are highly intolerant towards minorities. Haryana and Himachal were carved out of punjab becuase many states in India were re-aligned based on language spoken. Haryana ia pre-dominantly Hindu Jat state with punjabi as a second language spoken by mostly Hindus.

you cannot deny the fact that as a result of sikh extremism, there were several attacks on Hindus in Punjab. The number has been put at about 3500 people. According to this same statistic, about 6700 Sikhs were killed in Punjab by Sikh extremism, due to which their movement lost support, and violence eventualy died down. I got this from a book about world-wide terrorism. 300 K Sikhs is a very high number which has been exaggerated; the real number is around 20 000 people killed in total.

you have this wrong..Punjab was never "Sikh Land"..it is home to Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims. Hindus and Muslims were there before Sikhs. Present-day Haryana was always Hindu Majority; Pakistani-Punjab was Muslim Majority. Present-day Indian Punjab is SIkh Majority.
If anybody stole Sikh Land, its the Pakistanis, because Pakistani-Punjab is where Sikh Gurus were born; that is where your holy land is, not Haryana..

People call Sikhism a cult because they are so surprised at the level of devotion of its followers. Furthermore, people are incredibly unwilling to give Sikhism an unbiased study, thus resulting in so much intolerance and racism. Finally, people actually don't know what a cult is, and this is apparent in everyday conversation, when people call groups of other people "cults" that actually do not fit the real definition. Sikhism isn't even close. It's the world's most progressive religion.

You are mistaken. The Gurus used the Hindu term for God because to them all the names of God from various faiths are speaking of ONE GOD - doesn't matter what name you use, it was all the same to the Guru Jis. The Guru Jis used the various names for God so they could reach different people, use their language and thus propagate the religion. Sikhism is NOT based on Hinduism - a simple cursory reading of the scriptures would prove it.

Hindus have ONE ultimate divinity expressed in many facets. there are good and bad people in all communities. Back in the 1980s`, in Punjab, Sikh militants killed innocent Hindus. It was the majority of Sikhs that protected the Hindus then.
In 1984 during the anti-sikh riot, yes it was the corrupt Congress which killed 4000 Sikhs. But again, it was the majority of Hindus that protected and sheltered the Sikhs. My family was one such family that gave shelter to Sikhs.

Many Hindus want India to be Hindu Nation but countries based on religion are highly intolerant towards minorities. Khalistan would be no exception, every sikh will have to adhere guidelines set by SGPC. Minorities willn't have any rights because they are not khalis i.e. sikhs. here in england not long back there was a report a sikh boy had had his kesh cut by some white lad's in a park.so coach's went from the midland's full of educated sikh's to the scene some 500 mile's away,there they did ardaas in the park where this alleged crime took place.a couple of week's later it turned out the boy had cut his own hair and made up the story.sometime's you just have to wait and see both side's before going in gun's blazing.

i think we sikh's should now move away from 84what happened was not right but keep on going on about it does not make a difference.Today any one from any religion can observe their faithin almost any country of the world we ourselve's are making us look bad.Today the panjabi's seem to love miss pooja more than SIKHI and the SIKH'S are busy fight amongt themselve's badal simranjit singh mann and so on.SIKH'S in the west who are priveleged to continue in there religion should do so.

My father actually hid one of his friends, a Sikh. And protected another during this time. Over all it was a period of unrest and violence, unsafe for any denomination or faith! Although the Sikhs were worst hit. I truly do lament this period in Indian history, but I do not appreciate it being presented without all the facts. It sounds so much worse in the light it is portrayed in this video!
