I believe in this home fire sprinkler system. I'm getting one. :) for those who don't think that this should be mandatory, would be alright if firefighters don't go inside your burning houses so they can at least avoid the risk of dying?
Would you rather have some water damage in your house, or have your house and everything in it completely burnt to the ground? Not to mention the possibility of loss of life.
we had recently a lot of residential fires in our neighborhood and not one had that system ! home builders should re-think again!!!! definately life and home saving !!! and a lot of dough saved too !!!
There is great consideration into making all houses built in the city limits have fire sprinkler systems, this is a good selling point for just the reason why!!! Good video
old building and a night club must have it installed. as for night club, it is suppose to use home version to prevent abuse by patron. it is beneficial for night club owner to have this installed and this could save life in case of fire broke out. the home version are usually covered with cap in the ceiling, when the fire broke it will then show up and goes off. remember that it is only activated by heat, not smoke
Residential sprinklers save lives and should be mandatory... they will be eventually in every new home. great video, clearly shows the benefits of a sprinkler system
NFPA is a non-profit organization supported by over 80,000 members worldwide NOT sprinkler manufacturers.
Were you looking at the same video I was? With the one completely open side? Guess not. Very real simulation here. But don't fret, NFPA will give you a better scenario soon.
Totally out of character for human behavior analogy. Running to the fire?
Home fire sprinklers will save thousands of lives per year. FACT
No proof at all that home sprinklers save lives. Since homes with sprinklers also have detectors, there never will be absolute proof. Homes on well water, they don't even work. Install 1 if you want, but don't force others to do it.
You state one small example of a adverse effect of a fire sprinkler putting out a fire in the home.... Lets state the other hundreds of reasons that the sprinklers saves lives. Besides that I don't think you have any idea what the NFPA code covers. Do your research.
@inish007 I think I'm the only one here that has done extensive research. There's too much to write in these small 500 character boxes. Most of my opinion is from material I've read from state fire marshal websites. I don't care if someone wants to install one, but I do care if it's made mandatory and that's what they're trying to do. There are billions of dollars to be made if it goes through.
National Assoc. of Home Builders and Habitat for Humanity are against it.

What a joke. It's a sealed 8 x 10 room (minimum room size allowed by code is 7 x10) so the smoke has no place to go. Ideal for making this test look good, but hardly typical of most living rooms which are open to other rooms. If it was a kitchen grease fire and you ran to your stove as the sprinkler went off, you'd be covered by burning grease and severely burned. Smoke detectors save lives, sprinklers put out fires, sometimes. NFPA is funded by sprinkler manufacturers.
SUPER SKID MARK, that makes for the reason not to put a sprinkler over top of a stove but in all relativity the sprinkler is going to go off, and in the first minute atleast 16 gallons of water is going to come out of the head, and well i believe that is more than enough water to wash away the hot grease! where do you get your info from? Oh yeah the smoke detector is not going to put out the fire, and it damn sure aint gonna carry your ass through the flames. So tell me how it saves lives.
@JB87BLAIR@JB87BLAIR@JB87BLAIR I get my info through researching state and federal records and actual fire department literature. In most cases the sprinkler won't put the fire out either. It's designed to give you time to get out of the house. Smoke detectors do it better and warn you sooner. According to National fire Prevention Council, they save lives. Oh yeah NFPA is not funded by sprinkler manufacturers. NATIONAL Fire Protection Association. its a goverment kinda thing. sprinkler manufacturers can only follow the codes of nfpa.
When I first saw this video I though it had been sped up, fires really do act faster than expected. I want sprinklers in my house.

Thanks for this video :)
Sprinklers.iFind2.com installed mine. It was only $1899 in Richmond, TX for my entire yard. 6 zones 16 heads.
They also had a $1399 option for front and back yard only.

This video is BS!!! Homeowners do not have the capability to turn the water off as these guys did!!! The water damage is just as bad as the fire.
Smoke alarms provide enough safety!
mmoglia4 1 year ago
@mmoglia4 They might not know how, but there is definitely the ability to turn it off.

Good inside system. A Canadian company has produced a new sprinkler system for the exterior of the house. Great in high risk forest fire regions.

Members are manufacturers.
People almost always try to put out small fires.
