  • Hell, I love and I miss DS9 so much that it hurts every time I take a look...

  • the thing is the novels aren't canon. :( so it would be like reading another alternate universe story.

  • And also there is no relaunch for me... Even the part when Sisko said he'd return was added on Avery Brooks' request as there was a stereotype of a black man leaving his pregnant wife. Originally, he'd have said he can't return. For me, it is over. It is not just the best Star Trek show but also the best TV show for me, of all times. And it is fully ended, that was all. It was just beautiful having some people coming together and then after everything, part. The best, ever.

  • Somewhere (maybe on Memory Alpha) I read that they wanted Jadzia Dax to appear, it would have taken 3-4 hours of work with Terry Farrell, but they only got to talk to her manager, and it would have been far too expensive and Ira Steven Behr said he felt her feelings were hurt as the scene wasn't germane to the plot, and when they got to the clips the manager said they'd prefer if they managed without Terry Farrell... But she took part in the show's wrap party.

  • This made me feel sad the first time I saw it. The end of my favorite series. Now..I can't help but to think of the woman I never took it far enough with and a lot of things I did when I was a kid. I miss those times. I wish she was back and we were able to enjoy the things I enjoyed as a kid together as well.

  • Definitely the best ending to a TV show in modern times, and for once, a definitive ending for a star trek series that showed that this *WAS* the end. Worf made ambassador to Qo'NoS, O'Brien moving back to Earth, Odo rejoining the Great Link, Sisko taken by the Prophets - you could tell that this was it. Add the montage, to the great instrumental of 'the way you look tonight' and you have grown men crying. I should know, i am one!

  • Truly great part of a great finale and an amazing show. However, I still think it's bogus that Jadzia was not in a single one of the memory segments...especially Worf's. :( Really don't know why they chose to omit her...

  • @jakestreet23 As I always understood it, she refused to let them use her likeness, but can't really find an article right now to back that up.

  • @phrogxix I think it was her agent - demanded money, and said nothing to Terry Farrell about it, who was reportedly furious about his actions when she found out, and was more than willing to allow her likeness to be shown...

  • @phrogxix guess that could very well be true. I get the sense there was some bitterness between her and the powers-that-be of the show seeing that while she did want to leave, she really didn't want them to kill off her character. C'est la vie I guess...

  • @phrogxix From IMDB.com

In the montage scene, there are no clips of Jadzia Dax because the producers weren't able to get permission from Terry Farrell to use her image. Her asking price was just too high and the budget couldn't allow it. Producer Ira Steven Behr said he was disappointed by that. That it was one of the few things about the series finale that he wasn't happy about.

  • @jakestreet23 It's just because they didn't want to have to pay her again!!!

  • OH GOD BOOHOOHOOHOOHOOHOOHOO.

  • One of the best series that i ever see!

Lucky me i have them in my private colection so when i see them all.

I have privilage to start seeing them agen, becouse i cant get inuff of it! :D

  • Best Star Trek finale.

  • Vic Fontane sings the song in the episode in another scene.

  • the Odo Kira one was the best by far lol even Quark gets one

  • the Odo Kira one was the best by far

  • Minsk

  • It would be hilarious if O'Brien's montage was just him getting tortured, killed, electrocuted, Jem'ha'dar nipple twisted, killed again, imprisoned and all of the other horrible things that happened to him over the series lol

  • I love how Worf's montage consists of him getting knocked through a pain of glass and being held upside down by the Breen . . . ahhh the memories of Worf getting beaten up over both series <3

  • I love that montage always brings tears to my eyes what a great idea bringing James Daren to the show it makes me sad and happy at the same time I wish they would bring DS9 back for a while as the show left an open ending

  • Not sure why, but Worf's little montage bit was the saddest part for me.

  • This montage still makes my eyes water. DS9: The best of the Star Trek series!

  • I thought I was the only one deeply touched by this amazing series and this final episode

  • blubbered like a baby when i saw this montage. Just wonderful. Thanks for posting

  • For all of their differences and difficulties, they all had a *home* together on DS9. I think that's why we love it so much, and why it makes us so sad to see it end.

I never liked TNG that much because I missed this feeling of *home*, of togetherness. DS9 is my favourite show, together with the original series, which had a similar atmosphere in its own way.

    Just mythical...

  • Its so very revealing ,DS 9 was the best Star Trek.Series end prooves the cast was welded together and loved it.

  • wait whats the episode when they all walk in wearing formal clothes? nd worf is smoking?

  • I only watched a few DS9 episodes when I was younger- enjoying it more than any other of the Star-snippets I had seen.

These days I'm a huge Voyager fan.

Even though I haven't seen much of this series, the clips I have seen have shown me that these characters have so much depth, and so well written. I'm almost afraid to watch Ds9 because I don't want to love it more than Voyager XD

Maybe I will just say that Voy and DS9 are both the best for different reasons.

  • @Treemeadow

Well i am not a Voyager-Fan. However, if you like Voyager, you will LOVE DS9. IMO the best Trek-Series.

  • There is never going to be a better sci-fi show than DS9. Not star trek or any other. Sure the recent ones like the star gate shows have better special effects and all but DS9 is not about special effects (not that those special effects in DS9 were bad, they were really good), DS9 is about the characters and that show had the best main and recurring characters and I loved them all. The sets were the awesome, especially promenade made me wanna live on that station forever truly the best show ever

  • Why oh why did they end DS9!!! This clip really does make you miss it so much. I loved how they made the final so heart warming and gives off alot of emotion.

Ah, can't help but to feel sad whenever i hear this, because i know i won't see them all together like this again :(

Only thing i hate about DS9 is that it ended it. It was my favourite Star Trek series.

Thanks for the upload it really did bring back so many good memories of such a fantastic show.

Perfect way to end such a awesome show

  • DS9 was an incredible little moment in the Star Trek pantheon. It will never be topped.

  • *sniff*

  • The most correct series finale... I loved this show, and good to remember it. Oh my, ten years ago...

  • I wish they had made a DS9 movie, or would make one....

  • whats the clip where they're all playing baseball???? i need to see that in full!!! lol

  • the episode is called "take me out to the holosuite" if that helps

  • great show!

  • Wish they would air this show more, never see it anywhere. They air TNG on SYFY, while DS9 hardly gets any air time.

It was an excellent show, and really had an incredible cast. Including some really good supporting cast.

  • I agree, 90s star trek can never be duplicated -voyager and st:ent was the final nail in the coffin for star trek

  • character's were too good in this show...u really felt for them. I'm a Niner for life!

  • It's ten years later but I still miss this show!

  • You're not the only one. :)

  • Me too

  • Got me teary eyed just now watching it again.

  • Although I loved DS9, I liked TNG a little bit more.

That having been said, "All Good Things..." didn't hit me near as hard as "What You Leave Behind..." I'm sure it was in small part because when "All Good Things..." came out, we already knew TNG was moving to the big screen, whereas I didn't even see "What..." until a few years ago.

But, this scene in particular was also a huge part of it. Got me teary first time I saw it. Man, DS9 was a great show.

  • Of course, it's when they get to those early shots of Cirroc Lofton as Jake that you realize just how much time has past since the series premiered, and just how much everyone has changed.

  • Its not just the shots of Jake. If you look at Kira and Odo in a few shots you realise that they aged quite alot.

What a show though and this sums it all up, just brilliant !!!

  • The Star Trek of the 90's can never be duplicated... unfortunatly.

  • I agree. "Star Trek" was at its best then.

  • As Mr Spock would say, 'Fascinating!'

I love this song & it makes a wonderfully romantic backdrip to the footage from the show.

    Kudos! Thanks for sharing!

  • DS9 was my fav of the series's

  • The music is simply beautiful

That's one thing I like about star trek

    is the orchestration

  • i cry every time it is on

  • ohh nooo this is sooo shiiit.. no this is actually greaaat but i had to cry from this moment on to the end.. omg i never cried like this because of a movie or something..^^ i miss ds9 noww but reeaally.. finished 2day the episodes!!..

    NOO :(((

  • i miss ds9...

  • Greetings.

Can anyone tell me where there is a ST club/group/forum to join?

    OL.

  • I've watched that so often already and I have to cry everytime. Imo the most touching scene of DS9, and maybe every TV series ending ever. Right behind comes the fighting scene from "The Siege of AR-558"

The Way the show evolved was simply brilliant and I think they couldn't have ended it better (except the end for Captain Sisko of course, but he said he would return someday...maybe yesterday)

DS9 Live long and prosper, the Best Star Trek Series EVER made and ever will be.

  • Everytime i watch this,..it gives me chilles, joy, but mostly tears.Coz that crew was magic all the way.Different species as if it was all normal, and yet it was.I wish those days where now. Thanks Gene Roddenberry.R.I.P

  • i love how when O'Brien picks up the soldier you hear the tune to the minstrel boy. a throw back to his best next generation episode. which i actually am ashamed to say i only saw for the first time 2 days ago!

  • このラストシーンは何度観ても感動します。phrogxixさん、ありがとう。

  • Only Star Trek knows how to get an ending so right. Perfect music and clips

    Good memories !!!

  • Most wonderful ending to a Star Trek Episode since Captain Jame T. Kirks final order - "second star to the right, and straight on til morning" at the end of the Undiscovered Country.

Loved this series it was wonderful!! As was this ending!!

  • Wow that took me back in time! I remember when that aired, it made me smile, laugh, and cry! That cast was just amazing together, they will always be family!

  • This was the most special finale I have ever seen. Without question.

  • This scene brought a tear to my eye when watching it. Truly a great ST series.

  • Thanks soo much for posting this without any different music over the top of it!!

  • I love that they start with a shot of Miles O'Brien and a couple bars of the Minstrel Boy song. Pure class all the way through. Beautifully done.

  • wondefull characters, wonderfull writing, wonderfull show. most underrated star trek show ever. A movie please...

  • 2:39 has got to be the best bit in any show...ever!!

  • i agree that was pretty amazing

  • gotta say i never appreciated DS9 when it came out...but i've been watchin it on Bravo recently and i'm hooked, it's jus so deep! some of the best star trek characters ever!!

  • same here...i rewatched the whole series recently, and I have to say i'm far more impressed when I was only catching bits and pieces of it

  • I further agree. There was an episode with Jake where he was sort of posessed by a "muse," that I hated when it came out (due to the episodes lack of giant space battles). But a while back, I caught that episode, and I think it was a good Jake-story.

Compare with TNG, in which there were very few good Wesley-stories.

  • oh yes...jake possessed gave avery brooks a chance to chew the scenery with anguish...

  • This was the greatest of all the Star Trek shows and one of the better farewell episodes, as the farewell episodes of so many good shows fell short. Thanks for posting this. I'll never forget the final shot of Jake & Kira looking out at the wormhole. P.S.--Benjamin Sisko was also my favorite of all the Star Trek captains.

  • AMAZING ending! I wish this montage was the final scene of the show, but the last shot of Jake and Kira looking out at the wormhole is nice too.

Were the producers not allowed to show any clips of Terry Farrell? Seems kinda strange that Worf would be remembering his times with Ezri but not Jadzia...

  • That always bugged me too, and yes you're right, it was all contract problems that stopped them from showing Terry Farrell. Shame though..:-(

  • I think this is perfect, ds9 had the right amount of time. They are and always will be a family, in twenty years time that is how you will remember them !!!

    Brilliant !!!!

  • A very nice and fullfilling ending to a great series...I actually got watery eyes when I saw this way back in 1999.

The instrumental arrangement of "The Way You Look Tonight" is beautiful.

  • i started to sob watching it now lol

  • anyone know where you can find this arrangement?

  • i love DS9, even today... it's ashamed, it was cut SO short. could have ran for several more seasons....

    grew up on this....

love the vid, but still, makes me sad....

  • Intelligent, well made, unpatronising, beautifully written, amazingly acted. I bloody miss this show!

  • I cried at the ending of this. It was SO bittersweet!!

  • This is my all-time favorite ending for any show ever. Thanks for the memories, Deep Space Nine.

  • Miss you Captain Sisko, Major Kira, Cheif Miles O'Brian, Dr. Bashir, Jadzia and Ezri Dax, Odo, Quark......and the one and only Lt. Commander Worf! If this makes anyone feel better, you can see Worf in Star Trek "Nemesis".

  • where's the song !?

  • Orchestral version plays behind the entire montage.

  • u wukk AKWAYS love this show

  • I cry whenever I see this.

    =[

  • Same here.

  • Ah the lovely memories of ds9. It will be missed.

  • It's been nine years since this first aired, long enough for me to have seen the DS9 finale several times, and yet this segment has ALWAYS made me cry!

  • What a final episode! What a moving moments! I was crying ...

    STAR TREK IS THE BEST!!!

  • Thankyou for this nice tribute to ds9, it shall be missed!

  • They should have never ended this series - so much originality and the movies.....

they should have continued with DS9 movies not the Pike Series!

  • BEST ENDING EPISODE EVER!!! BEST ENDING MONTAGE EVER!!! (wipes tear from eye)

  • THis scene from the Final episode of DS9 was FANTASTIC!! I love the song, and it was very fitting. HOWEVER....I would have liked to see some clips of Jadzia. She was a very important character that touched everyone's life on the show.

  • Beautiful. I love DS9

  • This is absolutely beautiful, and never ceases to make me cry. I love my DS9.

  • This is why I say DS9 is the best Trek series ever and will always be my personal favorite.

  • This was a loving tribute.

  • I agree with you all. All of Star

Trek was so cool. I am glad I grew up with these shows. The message of Star Trek must live on fellow trekker/ies. I hope one day mankind sees ships like Enterprise and it's possibilities come to fruition as realistically possible. Thanks to Roddenberry in making me believe in a positive future. Let's just put away the nukes forever now....

  • this make me feel warm when I am low all I have to do is watch Ds9 or any of the others and I am away with the fairies ok ferrengi

  • huh?...

  • Could not have said it better myself. The Human race MUST grow up !!! The stars await with many wonderful and beautfiul discoveries for mankind to make if only we could stop fighting each other and mankind looks up to the heavens and sails to the stars!!

  • I miss this show more than I can describe.

    Irreplacable.

  • I'm with you there. The epitome of Trek at it's best and most heartfelt.

    I miss it terribly.

  • Take a look at the video details. I missed DS9 just like you both, until I found the AMAZING DS9 Relaunch books from Pocket which picks up a few months after the last episode. :)

  • Terry Farrell (Jadzia) had complained because some of the season 5 and 6 snippets of her were used for Worf's scenes. She was such an important part of the show and his life. I wish they would have left it in.

  • crazyandorian.....he said goodbye to his wife!!!! not to his son....there's something wrong there!

  • Thay left possibility for one DS9 ST movie, but than producers decide that it is more clever to invest in reality shows.

    IDIOTS

  • easily my favourite star trek series. deserved a movie. probably the most human of all the treks. it showed that even starfleet had to be dirty sometimes.... one complaint though, why didn't sisko say goodbye to his son?

  • **SPOILER**

Sisko had gone to join the Prophets in the Wormhole and wasn't abe to say goodbye.

  • ''The Visitor'' and ''Far Beyond The Stars'' are really sad and worthy of a lump in the throat but the finale "What you Leave Behind" really wears me down.

Long Live DS9, a show more than worthy and definetley deserved an ST Movie...

Keep the dream alive and make a DS9 Movie happen !

  • Agreed...but maybe a movie would just dampen the greatness of the whole series.

  • Ah, dammit... *sniff* *sob*... I'm a big brown guy with five little kids, and I made it all the way to 03:19 before breaking down. THAT did me in, just like the episode ("The Visitor") always does.

  • very emotional wow

  • Great video!

  • *sniff* DS9 rules!

  • Cursed spam!

Anyway, this was very touching. I loved DS9.

  • I'll be on the floor, sobbing like a two-year-old, if anyone needs me...

  • You left out Garak, and possibly so did they, but he was the most pivotal character of all. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, and "got misty" a little too. Thanks for posting.

  • DS9 was such an amazing series... i still get misty eyed watching this clip.

  • Hurts my heart man. Ouch. But in a good way. :D

  • despite the lack of Jadzia this is a very touching montage that brings me to tears.

  • Thank You. Thank you so much. :)

  • What an episode. The only TV finale I've ever really cried at. I love how they played "The Minstrel Boy" there too.

  • i can't help breaking up

  • When I watched this with a uni friend who I made into a trekkie with this series, it was a struggle to not bawl. It still affects me even though I've seen it many times.

The only criticism I have of it was the total lack of Jadzia in the flashbacks. I know it's about contracts and shit, but they could have paid her off to show a few clips. Still an amazing end to an awesome series.

  • I agree. It was dumb on both sides not to be able to show any clips of Terry Farrell (Jadzia)

  • This clip is why the DS9 final episode is my favorite of all the ending episodes. Picard at the poker game was very good, and Voyager's return to Earth was exciting, but these 4 minutes carry a poignancy that none of the other finales matched for me. Thanks for posting it. :)

  • Thank you!

  • This is also when I started crying during the series finale. At least the story's continuing in the relaunch novels.

  • Brought a tear to my eye when I saw this episode. 7 years of caring with the characthers and then its over on the screen at least :(

Had Vic Fontaine's "the way you feel tonight" played as our first dance at my wedding. Very nice and will always remember that :)
