  • creo que soy e único que se droga escuchando esta música :/

pero creo que es una manera diferente ... me gusta entrar en trance...

y mantenerme en el mismo lugar y al mismo tiempo no..

  • Astronauts is American cosmonauts. I doubt God is American.

  • this song makes me like travelling at the speed. and at the same time, makes me feel totally monotonous and lazy. to like, just stop and stare up at the sky at night. get completely sucked in by the universe, or perhaps your mind. by who's to say they aren't different at all. I am so goddamn glad to have found this band.. I feel alive and infinite again. I feel human. makes me feel like god, makes me feel like an astronaut.

  • This is beautiful. As if the music makes its own lyrics, they say 'fly away'

  • u dont need drugs for this music.... all u druggies.. wakeup u wernot born with a special pipe in your throut so you could enjoy this music, you were born with a pure mind and (maby) a pure heart.

  • when i listen this song i jusat say hi to clouds at the end of the day while sun is going down....

    lastplacewin explained it well

  • Amun Ra had a very similar pattern to Jesus Christ, per the book name "The Book of Dead". It is the holy book of Egyptian History. His mother name was Meri, while his father name was Josep. The birth of Ra, was predicted because of a comet/star. When he was born, the Sheppard’s, and farmers witnessed his birth. Egyptian King Herut tried to kill him for plaguing the minds of people about the one true God. When Ra turned thirty, he decided to get baptized.

  • The person, who baptized him, had his head cut-off. He was followed by 12 disciples, and, since he is considered the son of Sun god, the 12 disciples were the 12 zodiac signs. Amazingly, he also performed miracles, and walked on water like Christ. Ra was also crucified like Christ. He was buried in a tomb, and was resurrected in three days. He also performed, 'sermon on the mount' like Jesus.

  • Beautiful, just beautiful...

  • its really noisy at 4:29 to4:40:P

  • I love the lyrics

  • Good song:)

    whats it called??

    Cheers if anybody replies-cool:)

  • @thewhitemonkey100 shadows (?)

  • have no words ! ! !

  • another beautiful band i can add to my list of listening aides to concentrate on home-work and feel great! love this band.

  • Silly... god is a dj not an astronaut :)

  • @TheDarkMinister Silly...He's God. He can be both :)

  • this shit is the jam!

  • sot his is where everybody goes to talk smack about rap music...WHY WASN'T I TOLD?!

  • I just listened to Chris Brown's - Look at Me Now and then dove into my GIAA discography. All music, besides modern country, has value - quit being close-minded, jackasses.

  • I can agree with everyone's dislike towards rap music, but dont get it mixed up with old school hip hop :)

  • RE EINAI TELEIOOOO!!!!

  • Now, even if you don't limit yourself to one genre (which i dont, my favourite genre is grunge but i also love D&B and dubstep), you can see what has quality and what doesn't.

I'm sorry, but i can't see the quality in rap music. Got nothing against those who like it, but personally i think there's a massive gap between this song and any rap one. Because this one has quality.

  • @Wtfpwned90

I think you're incorrect. Listen to Daylight by Aesop Rock and read the lyrics. The guy is a literal genius and it shows in his Rhymes. There are so many superb hip hop artists out there like Aesop, Sage Francis, Brother Ali, and Atmosphere. You just need to know where to look.

  • @biggyph00l Oh no, i do think that there are some good rhymers/rappers (if you will) out there. My point remains, there's a massive gap between this song and any rap one. I can admit that some of the old school rap (reeeeeeaaaaaally old school) have quality, but comparing it with this i find grotesque.

  • @biggyph00l I hate rap.. But atmosphere, Is a breathtaking artist. I'm a metalhead.. And I could never get tired of listening to Atmosphere.

  • The Astronaut bless everyone here, people with unique taste of music.

  • uau!

  • So glad I found them <3

  • This song actually makes me feel like I'm flying. Close my eyes at night, lie down and breathe very deeply and very slowly. I know it sounds like a bunch of new age, hippy voodoo crap but honestly - try it. It really works. You don't need drugs to feel like you're on another planet.

  • @lastplacewin A fool who told you that. Merely realizing tools.. only tools that have been designed to help. just saying..

  • @lastplacewin dude, i applaud you for this. no joke. people tell me i look like a stoner all the time. i'm completely clean. i just like trippy music and stuff like that. you basically summed up what i need to be telling people ha no drugs are needed for feeling like you're in a better place.

  • @lastplacewin I allready take.....and is perfect..

  • @lastplacewin but you do to jump into other dimensions

  • @lastplacewin Well trust me, drugs do help. With this music you can feel emotions you've never felt before. But you have to be responsible and cautious with them, for sure. I just don't like closing the door to mindblowing experiences, but it's a personal choice after all.

  • @2CSST2 very well said.

  • @lastplacewin Totally agree man, I too have had the exact same experiance. Peace, Love and Harmony people

  • @lastplacewin its true that you dont need drugs to enjoy music.

its just that drugs makes it even better i dont think anyone can disagree with me on that no matter how much they hate it

  • @detectiveyoshi Way to project dude, not everyone's the same.

  • @DrSpaceman3 im not a dude

but allright, if you say so

  • The mind is endless.

  • @lastplacewin pero la droga te aumenta ese sentir

  • In my opinion, this is the best post-rock band :)

  • The name of the band is WIN , songs themselves are WIN ...... and you mate ....you are the biggest win to upload these songs !!!!!!! Nice christmas present for me !!!

  • Maybe our perception of a god thousands of years ago was an ancient astronaut from another planet. We may never know but these guys have a compelling point.

  • Without a shadow of doubt, I wouldn't say 1 of the best Irish bands, but 1 of the best bands on our planet... Post-rock is just something else...

  • Could you name some names? I'd be interested in expanding my musical knowledge

  • every time i listen to this band i get chills...they make me see things so clearly and appreciate how beautiful everything really is.

    This band is truly amazing.

  • Wow. I think I could listen to this song all day. So great!

  • Great music!

  • I wonder how long I can listen to this and not care that I am alone...

  • good...:)

  • Wow... This is just... This song just pushed me over the edge. I will now go to amazom.com and order every single cd these guys ever spat out.

Then I will listen to them over and over ... and over.

  • on hte rap, mainstream rap is shit. Rap is a valid form of music too, I have high respect for the old school street guys form the 90's, but the majority of it now sings about bullshit and rakes in money.

  • 99% of rap music is gay as hell. This band is my third favorite!!!!!! Fucking love this song as well.

  • This is SO awesome.

  • what fucking amazing music

  • Everyone need something to hold on, for me its the Music and if some God gave me that feeling like everytime i listen to something beutiful like this im thankfull :)

this Band is so Goddamn talented.

  • In the Internet I saw, that GiaA play Indie Rock.

Isn't it more sth. like psychedelic rock???

  • @affe95

    I think it's more like instrumental Post-Rock or something^^

  • I LOVE THE oUTRO

  • Everybody has their own choice of music genre, and everybody else must respect that, personally i enjoy listening to this BEAST of a band and i despise R'n'B. But its immature to judge people by their actions and beliefs, and also immature to 'dis' peeps who in which you havent even met before or got to know. ANYWAYS THIS BANDS ROCKS MY SOCKS OFF

  • this is not brutal! fuck astronauts

  • im sure that anyone, given the moment, will like listening to post-rock

  • @kingman4888 I found my moment today.

  • Awesome drums :) Thumbs up guys!

  • How I see it, at first you like only one genre or band, and you become a hardcore listener, then you breakout and start to explore maybe listen to the same genre... but when you get older you seem to enjoy a wide range of music, and you realise its not about a straight line heading one way, its more of a curve with multiple paths leading in all directions. Its not a competition or race, or bitching My bands better then your band shit.

  • @TigerEyeJewel i think comparing your favorite bands on other's favorites is immature at its best....i don't get why people have to affiliate themselves on something and diss on other for their different affiliation....its ridiculous...im glad you realized all along...im still young and i already know it.

  • I love this.

  • correguda a l'estadi

  • i have 4 albums from them, and there is not one song i don't like. That is extremely rare for a band to pull off.

  • i guess you have a good life then, mine's been qute broken since i lost my taste in good bands, ive been in a weird state that is cant enjoy decent music, and ive been trying to change that, this song quite helps

  • @Scottieonfire completely agree. the only other band i can think of like that would be thrice

  • @Scottieonfire 4? I thought it has only 3

  • @Justas923 no, they actually have 5 now with the release of Age of a Fifth Sun.

  • @Scottieonfire Which was first? All is violent all is bright?

  • @Justas923 The end of the beginning.

  • @Scottieonfire Bayside has the same effect on me.

  • @Scottieonfire you know whats not extremely rare to pull off? a penis.

sorry, thumb me down if u will but that had to be said, =-B

  • holy crap that ending blows my mind

  • this music is absolutely beautiful ... i love it ...1:19-2:00 beautiful .... how can anyone listen to rap compared to this .....

  • why not? are you 15 or something?

  • @tstalsby509 umm...there are better rap songs than what mainstream music industry currently offers....

  • @tstalsby509, Some rap can be nice once in a while, it's requires a little less listening mostly:)

  • @tstalsby509

i like rap... as well as many other genres of music. what is wrong with that? it all comes down to taste...

  • @ibanezxiphos700 Rap sucks bro. Sucks to be you right now.

  • @peacauve

why does it suck because you say it does? wow good point.... retard, be more open minded, tool.

  • @ibanezxiphos700 Someones butthurt.

  • @peacauve

i know, i just shoved like a whole water melon in it

  • @peacauve some rap is good, although i typically prefer the genres of post-rock and rock. but there's still a lot of post-rock bands or rock bands i don't really like too. i'm not much into bashing an entire broad genre since that seems kind of ignorant to me, shrug.

  • @Shamanmagic95 King crimson shared their whores with me with me when i was 15.. robert fripp had only 1 whore and didn't share her. bill bruford shared 2 of his 15 whores with me. what i am trying to say is I this music is IRA material. I am an IRA vet. I can make the USA DEA man leave the strip joint because I get paid out of black budget defense contract money. LSD.

  • @tstalsby509 there are many elements to hip hop. if they are all executed well, then the outcome can be phenomenal. you probably aren't listening to the right rap.

  • dude...shut up

  • @tstalsby509 thats bullshit

  • @tstalsby509 i listen to both, give this song a try: "ill biskits - god bless your life" it might change your mind ;)

  • @TristanZeitler Nope, hasn't changed my mind, quite insulting that you compare that to this.

  • @Sirver i dind't compare the two songs, i just wanted to point out that there is hip hop/rap, with more or less deep lyrics.

  • @tstalsby509 Oh come on, keep your opinion for yourself. I love post-rock but i listen to rap? Whats the problem with rap? There are rap songs that have more to say than just drugs and whores... Dont put labels on any type of music.

  • @QQthimagfnqqba It puts the label on itself my friend.

  • @tstalsby509 Actually, it does not. Quality rap/hip-hop has much more to offer. I bet you say rap and think of 50cent and douchebags like him. Well, think again because some of the rhymes several MCs are writing are very powerful.

  • @sfagias

Lupe Fiasco for example. He's a man of true words and true music. Mainstream rap is and will always be a thorn in the flesh of us honest musicians and artists.

  • @tstalsby509 You just have to listen to the right songs!

  • @QQthimagfnqqba What you're saying is "Ignore the majority of rap! That doesn't count! Find the few obscure ones!" You have to face the facts, This type of instrumental rock, is the majority of instrumental rock, peaceful, tranquil, and uplifting. The genre of Rap will always be violent, boastful, and very bad poetry, even if you compare the slow songs, they will always seem very boastful.

Rap will never be taken seriously to people who care about music. Music is Art my friend. Music is Art.

  • @Sirver Your opinion. You better keep it to yourself because it's kind of insulting. You can never judge a genre.. If you say that rap is violent, i can say music like this is gay? No. Because it makes no sense. I repeate there are rap songs and styles you haven't even heard. yet you judge...

  • @tstalsby509 you can't compare two completely different forms and styles of music and determine that one is better

rap music has some incredibly deep meaningful lyrics with a somewhat generic beat behind it, but thats what rap is about the words not the beat

where as this excellent band focus more on creating beautiful relaxing instrumental music

it isnt about which one is better its about which one you prefer

music eclectisim is really needed on these youtube comments

  • @yerpuu you just said what i said in a different way. lol. and its not even about prefering man its about the mood you are in at a specific time, i don't prefere this to rap or rap to this i just listen to the music i am in the mood to listen to, prefering over another is the same as not liking just being said in a different way.

  • @tstalsby509 The funny thing is good rap sounds like this.

  • @yousuffahimuddin yes it is funny...

  • @tstalsby509 When, instead of feeling like rising away from your particular circumstance to join a great band of light that stretches across time and space while you see your life and its events and aspirations laid out beneath you, you are inclined to fuck the state pen and fuck hoes at Penn State, ostensibly for larger stakes on large estates. If motherfuckers had best recognize it, they aren't going to during a transcendent post-rock odyssey.

  • @tstalsby509 how can you compare rap to this? it is possible for people to like more than one genre of music for different reasons how ever different they may be. don't be so closed minded and try exploring different artests of different genres before you decide you don't like a genre.

  • @MrEnterprisestar Great post. Writing off an entire genre of music is not that far from closing your mind off from an entire culture, artform, or langauge. Embracing difference will ultimately lead to being exposed to new experiences and a deeper understanding of life. The broad sweeping statments about life are the cause of so much of ignorance and hatred in our society.

  • @extropian You said it. Everyone needs to read that ha.

by the way, this is a beautiful song

  • @tstalsby509 If you don't limit yourself to one genre i find its quite easy :)

  • @tstalsby509 music has a value in every kind of my friend..

personally i listen to every kind has to give something to me..

its absolutely beautiful as u said..& i just came back from their concert in Athens & they were great..

  • @tstalsby509 the up-tempo moments came out of nowhere, so they're capturing you, they robbing you ^^

  • @tstalsby509 i hated rap before too, but now i love all genres, yes, even country lol xD..well..some of country. once you accept and appreciate it, you will learn to enjoy it. all music is beautiful (not every literally every song however, you get what i mean)

  • @mobius1ify Theres beauty in everything really you just have to look for it. I dont like rap though lol, I'm waaaay too white to like rap.

  • Bautiful, beautiful !!

  • Best track from album!

  • Amzing band , love the guitar part ( 1:50 )

    Just beautiful

  • these guys are amazing at what they do and even better when u blown out of ur mind

  • My mind refuses to believe this music exists... yet. In fact... I think I just travelled through time... :D

  • best band I've ever heard! maybe they should make a song with lake of tears!

  • Thank you so much Vicavox!!

    appreciated...

  • last one

  • God is a hacker/wizard, i just know it.

  • This band is Awesome, they fucking paint pictures with their music its just that i wish if they were more progressive cuz all their songs " in a way " have the same structure and sound

  • I think that's what they are aiming for.

  • listen to yndi halda.

  • That's post rock for you though. Don't complain about a lack of progression, there is progression within each beautiful song.

Give you a quick list of some of the artists I've got, which may inspire you to check some out...some are equally good if not debatably greater than God Is An Astronaut.

Aerogramme, Bark Psychosis, Benoit Pioulard, Caspian, Dirty Three, Efterklang, Explosions In The Sky, Fly Pan Am, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Labradford, Mogwai, Mono, Mono & World's End Girlfriend...

  • ...Red Sparowes, Sigur Ros, A Silver Mount Zion, Slint, Spiritualized, Talk Talk, This Will Destroy You, Tortoise, TV On The Radio, Valley Of The Giants and Yndi Halda...I've left a fair portion out but if you enjoy this song, which let's be honest is epically brilliant, you'd like a great many of the artists listed above.

  • @vicavox Thanks alot man

  • @vicavox Thank you too, for giving some quality artists.

  • as do most of the post/prog bands. Check Explosions in the Sky, all of their songs sound very similar but each tell a different story.

  • I love Explosions but honestly either they have a really good song or a really boring one. God is an Astronaut is a little bit more progressive, electronical and I would say more mostly spiritual. This album shows a lot of maturity in their music... I just Love it!!!!

  • the end of this song is fucking epic.

  • Musical Excellence, this band is at the height of awesome right now

  • I love the band, I looove the new album, and I'm in love with this tune. Great as always, thanks!

  • INCREDIBLE

  • Great band.

  • this song is amazing, all your songs are so catchy and really thought out
