hello everybody, i have a question, ive had two copys of the game and idk why it does this but when i put the game on it turns to a blue screen and it says no signal, i turn the ps3 off and then back on click the game and then it does the same thing. again ive had to copys and they do the same thing so its not the disk, what did i do wrong?? please help thanks

@Hrtbrak1 haha well I might have if you played the Asian version of the game alot back in July of last year. I almost always play offline simply because thats how I usually prefer to play games. The online for Demon's Souls was pretty awesome though so I played it for a while. I havent been online in a really long time now. And the shield has the best health regen in the game.
I've already saved him the first 2 times, and the 3rd time he gives youa pure clear stone correct? Is it really worth having the both you and he dieing at the red knights and lose the mausoleum key then to just easily murder him in the nexus?

I mean. I saved Ostrava, cleared the enemies in his way, and accidentally died in the dragon part. When I came back in his area, I found him fighting with the respawned enemies, and barely saved him in time from the blue eyed knight. What do I have to do for him to disappear and go to 1-2? I don't actually want to rescue him every single time I come back to 1-1. Do I have to beat Phalanx for him to move on the next stage?
@Arch0Alex Sorry I couldnt get to your post sooner. I believe simply going to 1-2 will bring Ostrava there and get him out of 1-1. He shouldnt return to a previous area after moving on to a new section. As of now every time you enter 1-1 you will have to help him. This is why I usually suggest to leave him alone until you are prepared to save him in each are all at once.

@Arch0Alex If he is still on his ledge and hasnt jumped down you can continue through 1-3 and leave him sitting there nice and safe. Then come back before you go through 1-4 and save him in all 3 areas. If he has already jumped down then he will move on, although I believe you can still leave him in 1-2 (in the back of the tunnel under the bridge) because nothing attacks him while he is there, they just guard him. Wish I had more time to make more videos, but I enjoy answering questions still
Hey.. I saved Ostrava, but unknowingly. I accidentally fell into the monster section before talking to him and after I cleared everything out, he jumped down, said thanks and handed me some piece of junk telescope. Is there anything I can do?
@AeonicDesigns you did exactly what you were supposed to do. Now help him in 1-2 and 1-3. He will give you a couple more gifts each time you help him and will meet you in 1-4 before you fight the boss. He will give you the keys then. You can also just kill him and take the keys from his body, but you will miss out on a couple more gifts.

@Oblivion28694 the only important item he gives you is a perfect crafting material, I believe it is the only way to get that material. You can always get it on another playthrough though and its likely not that important for you anyway unless you are going for all the trophies in the game.
@bgtip he goes to the next stage where you save him again. You do this for each stage until you meet him before the final boss of world 1. If you cant find him anywhere then he probably died. If he did and you missed it, then yes you missed the key and will have to try again on your next play through.
first playthough i screwed out of the key ostrava gives, but ng+ i found him in the nexus got firestorm (wasnt doing any decent damage with it). i made him chase me up the top of the nexus then firestormed his ass of the edge. easy kill.
I was just trying out the Gripless. It is a fully upgraded gripless and I believe it is stronger than any version of an uchigatana, if you have a dex focus. I'm not positive on that its been a while since I have played but I was trying out all kinds of weapons at the time anyway just to have some fun. It is a dangerous weapon to use though, you can see me lose track of how much health it takes off.
hi! I started playing this yesterday...just killed the first boss but...could you tell me which button you pressed to "jump" down and get the ring? why should i save that knight? you said if he dies you can loot him and get a key to another place...thank you
Im using the Gripless katana here, just trying it out. Its a strong weapon but the damage you take seems to be a bit too much to make it worth it. My soul level is around 210.
Hi, I hope you are enjoying the game! The class you choose only decides your starting stats and items, you can turn your character into whatever you want once you start earning some souls to upgrade your stats. That being said, the Knight is a good well-rounded class to start with. The Royalty is probably the easiest to start with because it has Soul Arrow magic and a Fragrant Ring which replenishes mana over time. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.
If you save him in 1-1 then go to 1-2 he will be there, if you save him in 1-2 and go to 1-3 he will be there..... and so on. If you save him in 1-1 and go back to 1-1 before you go to 1-2 than he will still be in 1-1 walking around, and if you leave him alone he might get killed by the re-spawned enemies. So be careful.
Also, if you dont save him in 1-1 and continue with the next two levels (1-2 and 1-3) than he will stay in 1-1 until you save him. So you can go back and save him later if you want to skip him. If you beat 1-4 than it is too late and you cant go back. If you go back to save him in the first 3 areas before you finish 1-4 than the same rules apply that I described in my last comment. (phew, that can get a little confusing explaining that)
Sorry missed your comment. Some black phantoms are always in certain levels, but alot of them only appear when a world is in pure black tendency. You can quickly get a world to pure black by dying in body form over and over.

Assuming you didnt revisit 1-1 and give him a chance to die again...... you have to save him in 1-2 and 1-3 for him to show up in 1-4 before the boss. Remember that if you revisit an area before heading to the next section than Ostrava will patrol his little spot and could possibly die if left alone. So if you revisit a section after saving him be sure to help him again.
He gives you more items if you save him. One of the items is a perfect craft material (dont remember which) that I believe you can only get through him. If you are going for all the trophies than you might as well just save him and get some stuff. The trophy in this case being the crafting trophies.
Do you find it difficult on New Game + 5, I mean, does the game actually get harder, or do you simply get so strong that it becomes easy regardless of everything. Anything one-shot you in new game + 5?.. Reply back, cheers!
New Game +1 is the hardest, it has the biggest leap in difficulty. After that the difficulty only slightly climbs so the rest of the new games arent that bad, especially since you know the levels so well. I dont remember which playthrough ( I think +3 or +4), but I played through the game without dying. This game is all about knowing the best strategy for each type of enemy, once you know that its not all that hard.
My replay factor was unlocking everything. I got a Platinum in this game after about 170 hours of gameplay, and I still went on to make another character to clock in about 200 hours total. The game has so many little secrets and things to explore I dont see why someone wouldnt want to replay it.
I personally am a bit disappointed if a good ARPG doesnt reach the point where you feel powerful, especially if it has newgame+. By my 3rd playthrough I knew the strategies enough and had a wide array of gear to play with that I felt strong. That is what really topped off my love for this game.
I feel ya, I loved this game due to being fearful, and never really feeling strong, tis coming through now, I was hoping my next new game would be incredibly hard, oh well. =P cheers mate.
Anyway I got a technical question about the game. How do you get skilled in different types of weapons? like I have this winged spear but since I am a Knight, I cant use it effectivley and I dont know how to get good with polearms.
The only reason you arent efficient is because you dont have the required stats for the weapon. There should be four symbols representing stats and you should notice at least one of them is red, level up that stat to the number shown to use the weapon properly. That is all that is required to use a weapon effectively. Be sure to watch your Equip Weight as well, if you go over it then you will have some problems.
I didnt know about the Mausoleum key so I left 1-1 after I saved O the first time, I have beaten every thing in Boletaria up until king allant himself. I dont know where he could be found in 1-2, 1-3, or 1-4. Specific locations would be appreciated. Regardless I will kill him should I come across him again.

In 1-2 he is under the bridge in the tunnel and the end closest to the beginning of the level. In 1-3 he shows up when go to the otherside of the gate that you can open up to save time through the level. You have to pull the lever and save him from a couple Red Eye knights. in 1-4 you will meet him before you fight the king and he gives you the key and dies.
Yeah all I got in 1-2 underneath the bridge is this big ass gate blocking my way, I know it is not zoning because I can see that someone left a message on the other side, thus I am stuck.
He might not be in existence anymore for me cuz apparently I already fought him in 1-4 in his soul form and we kinda well killed each other by both falling to our deaths in the heat of the duel..........
I'm a knight class.How do you do this thing with the backstab? Did you train this skill or something? Sorry if i m asking stupid questions but I bought the game three days ago...
To back stab all you have to do is normal attack when you are behind them. Sometimes the angle you need to be to backstab can be a little tricky but you should be able to get used to it. I started out as knight too, it doesnt matter what your origin is you can always backstab.
Sorry I didnt reply earlier, I hope you are enjoying the game. You probably know by now that yes, every time you level up a stat you gain a soul level. That level basically indicates how much experience you put into your character, so its a basic representation of what a level would normally refer to........ character strength.
Its a mix of stuff, the chest armor is Shamans cloak or garb or whatever its called. I have all the weapons in the game so I tend to switch between them on and off to keep things interesting. At the time I did this video I was seeing how gripless worked with health regen, it was ok but nothing special. The keel smasher can be helpful in some cases but there are generally better options. I found Scimitars to be all around very useful weapons ;). Their strong attack is OP hehe
If you completely save Ostrava and talk to him in 1-4 he will give you the key, alternatively if he dies or you kill him he will also drop the key. Its your choice, if you go through saving him he gives you some other gifts including a pure stone of some kind (forget which one).
when i saved ostrava, he didn't go to the nexus at all. so then i never saw him there, or behind the gate, or on the stairs before you fight his BP. Any help? (p.s, he didn't die. I killed all enemies who might harm him)
Well you have to save him in 1-1, 1-2, and 1-3. If he doesnt show up in the Nexus or any of those areas after you saved him in one place than he is likely dead. Remember if you return to an area after you save him he will walk around and be attacked by enemies. He will hang out wherever you have most recently seen him. So if you see him in1-2 he wont go back to 1-1. Other than that, I dont know where he would be unless he is dead.
The body clothing I'm wearing is in 5-2, in the shack village just before you fight the boss you can find a pathway that opens a shortcut to the beginning of the level. If you walk a ways on that path you will see a Plague defiled enemy (glows purple) just hanging out by himself on a platform in the corner of the area, he has the shaman clothing.
Ok, so I played all the way till 1-4, didnt kill the false king but killed everything else, went to save ostrava (finally) in 1-1 but wasnt there. Is it because I killed his phantom?

lol the game isnt that unforgiving. Saving Ostrava only nets you a few extra items, it is not required at all. When you go to fight the king the only difference will be that ostrava wont be in the prior room to talk to you. My first playthrough I let Ostrava die without knowing it as well, but no worries you can always do it the second time around. Have fun bro.

Assuming you didnt revisit 1-1 and let him die he should in the tunnel in the lower part of the bridge in 1-2. Go to the first tower and take the stairs down to the lower tunnel, head towards the start of the stage. He should be guarded by a bunch of crossbow enemies. Kill them and clear the rest of the tunnel so he is safe. If he isnt there then you either let him die in 1-1 or beat the arch demon for world 1. I dont know any other reason he wouldnt show up. hope that helped.
An Arch Demon is the final boss of any given world. It is required that you fully complete a world and kill its final boss in order to progress further into world one. Make sure that if you have beaten all of the bosses in another world that if you go back to the tower knight fog door that you walk up to it rather than just look if it is still there. You have to walk up to the door for it to do a short cut scene and disappear.
Yurt is in 3-2. About halfway through the level you will see on of the circular platforms with a bunch of the colored lights on it. He is in one of the Cages hanging around the edge. Free him and then kill him to get his armor. The best way is to back stab him over and over, but be sure not to knock him off of the pillar.
I'm wearing a mixture of stuff. gloom helm from when you kill Yurt in 3-2, shaman garb from a plague goblin guy in 5-2 (he's on a platform underneath the short cut path), brushwood gloves from Biorr (kill him or after blue dragon kills him), and gloom boots again from Yurt. If you are talking about Ostrava, he is wearing basic Flute armor that Knight origin starts with.

Hey I just started my New Game + and I was going well until i faced a blue eyed knight and some enemies near Ostrava.
I was wondering if it was possible for me to summon a player at the start of 1-1, before ive killed Phalanx? do you know if I can summon at the very start of a new game?
No I dont believe you can summon any blue phantoms until after you have killed phalanx. Just have to remember the enemy patterns from your first playthrough. With the blue knight with the shield, always wait for his stab or over the head swing, he will be open for strikes every time. For the two handed blue knight you should be able to attack with any fast attack after any of his swings. just bait there attacks and be patient.
Yeah, Im rather happy with my setup and I dont need a ring of great strength to move around quickly. Both are +5, the health regen from the Adjucator's shield is fantastic, its 8 hp a second I believe. I always have the Meat Cleaver on me to back me up though. Oh and you can cast magic weapon or light weapon on Gripless as well, so its a rather powerful weapon that scales well.

I personally am a bit disappointed if a good ARPG doesnt reach the point where you feel powerful, especially if it has newgame+. By my 3rd playthrough I knew the strategies enough and had a wide array of gear to play with that I felt strong. That is what really topped off my love for this game.

Anyway I got a technical question about the game. How do you get skilled in different types of weapons? like I have this winged spear but since I am a Knight, I cant use it effectivley and I dont know how to get good with polearms.

The only reason you arent efficient is because you dont have the required stats for the weapon. There should be four symbols representing stats and you should notice at least one of them is red, level up that stat to the number shown to use the weapon properly. That is all that is required to use a weapon effectively. Be sure to watch your Equip Weight as well, if you go over it then you will have some problems.

I didnt know about the Mausoleum key so I left 1-1 after I saved O the first time, I have beaten every thing in Boletaria up until king allant himself. I dont know where he could be found in 1-2, 1-3, or 1-4. Specific locations would be appreciated. Regardless I will kill him should I come across him again.

he gives you the key if you save him in each area, plus he gives you some other nice items. I suggest saving him. In 1-2 he is under the bridge in the tunnel and the end closest to the beginning of the level. In 1-3 he shows up when go to the otherside of the gate that you can open up to save time through the level. You have to pull the lever and save him from a couple Red Eye knights. in 1-4 you will meet him before you fight the king and he gives you the key and dies.

Yeah all I got in 1-2 underneath the bridge is this big ass gate blocking my way, I know it is not zoning because I can see that someone left a message on the other side, thus I am stuck.

He might not be in existence anymore for me cuz apparently I already fought him in 1-4 in his soul form and we kinda well killed each other by both falling to our deaths in the heat of the duel..........

To back stab all you have to do is normal attack when you are behind them. Sometimes the angle you need to be to backstab can be a little tricky but you should be able to get used to it. I started out as knight too, it doesnt matter what your origin is you can always backstab.

Sorry I didnt reply earlier, I hope you are enjoying the game. You probably know by now that yes, every time you level up a stat you gain a soul level. That level basically indicates how much experience you put into your character, so its a basic representation of what a level would normally refer to........ character strength.

Its a mix of stuff, the chest armor is Shamans cloak or garb or whatever its called. I have all the weapons in the game so I tend to switch between them on and off to keep things interesting. At the time I did this video I was seeing how gripless worked with health regen, it was ok but nothing special. The keel smasher can be helpful in some cases but there are generally better options. I found Scimitars to be all around very useful weapons ;). Their strong attack is OP hehe

If you completely save Ostrava and talk to him in 1-4 he will give you the key, alternatively if he dies or you kill him he will also drop the key. Its your choice, if you go through saving him he gives you some other gifts including a pure stone of some kind (forget which one).

when i saved ostrava, he didn't go to the nexus at all. so then i never saw him there, or behind the gate, or on the stairs before you fight his BP. Any help? (p.s, he didn't die. I killed all enemies who might harm him)

Well you have to save him in 1-1, 1-2, and 1-3. If he doesnt show up in the Nexus or any of those areas after you saved him in one place than he is likely dead. Remember if you return to an area after you save him he will walk around and be attacked by enemies. He will hang out wherever you have most recently seen him. So if you see him in1-2 he wont go back to 1-1. Other than that, I dont know where he would be unless he is dead.

The body clothing I'm wearing is in 5-2, in the shack village just before you fight the boss you can find a pathway that opens a shortcut to the beginning of the level. If you walk a ways on that path you will see a Plague defiled enemy (glows purple) just hanging out by himself on a platform in the corner of the area, he has the shaman clothing.

Ok, so I played all the way till 1-4, didnt kill the false king but killed everything else, went to save ostrava (finally) in 1-1 but wasnt there. Is it because I killed his phantom?

lol the game isnt that unforgiving. Saving Ostrava only nets you a few extra items, it is not required at all. When you go to fight the king the only difference will be that ostrava wont be in the prior room to talk to you. My first playthrough I let Ostrava die without knowing it as well, but no worries you can always do it the second time around. Have fun bro.

to get to allant and since i new i have to kill all bosses to go take on the old one i thod i had to restart too bad thougth i already started a new character(assasin) but ill gladly go back to my Lv 50 guy hehe

I started out as a knight yes, but your origin really doesnt matter in the long run. I will try to post a video of my stat page if I have time. I intended to make alot more videos but just have been too busy, plus other games hehe.

Assuming you didnt revisit 1-1 and let him die he should in the tunnel in the lower part of the bridge in 1-2. Go to the first tower and take the stairs down to the lower tunnel, head towards the start of the stage. He should be guarded by a bunch of crossbow enemies. Kill them and clear the rest of the tunnel so he is safe. If he isnt there then you either let him die in 1-1 or beat the arch demon for world 1. I dont know any other reason he wouldnt show up. hope that helped.

Hey, I'm stuck whit the door after beating the TowerKnight, and I can't go pass that door unless I kill the "arch demon"
Where is this arch demon? and what does it look like? Because its getting frustrating!
I already passed world 2 & 3 but can't get the first world.

An Arch Demon is the final boss of any given world. It is required that you fully complete a world and kill its final boss in order to progress further into world one. Make sure that if you have beaten all of the bosses in another world that if you go back to the tower knight fog door that you walk up to it rather than just look if it is still there. You have to walk up to the door for it to do a short cut scene and disappear.

Yurt is in 3-2. About halfway through the level you will see on of the circular platforms with a bunch of the colored lights on it. He is in one of the Cages hanging around the edge. Free him and then kill him to get his armor. The best way is to back stab him over and over, but be sure not to knock him off of the pillar.

I'm wearing a mixture of stuff. gloom helm from when you kill Yurt in 3-2, shaman garb from a plague goblin guy in 5-2 (he's on a platform underneath the short cut path), brushwood gloves from Biorr (kill him or after blue dragon kills him), and gloom boots again from Yurt. If you are talking about Ostrava, he is wearing basic Flute armor that Knight origin starts with.

Hey I just started my New Game + and I was going well until i faced a blue eyed knight and some enemies near Ostrava.
I was wondering if it was possible for me to summon a player at the start of 1-1, before ive killed Phalanx? do you know if I can summon at the very start of a new game?

No I dont believe you can summon any blue phantoms until after you have killed phalanx. Just have to remember the enemy patterns from your first playthrough. With the blue knight with the shield, always wait for his stab or over the head swing, he will be open for strikes every time. For the two handed blue knight you should be able to attack with any fast attack after any of his swings. just bait there attacks and be patient.

Yeah, Im rather happy with my setup and I dont need a ring of great strength to move around quickly. Both are +5, the health regen from the Adjucator's shield is fantastic, its 8 hp a second I believe. I always have the Meat Cleaver on me to back me up though. Oh and you can cast magic weapon or light weapon on Gripless as well, so its a rather powerful weapon that scales well.
