  • to me as a 25% hawaiian i think the blood quantity stuff is b.s man....to me as long as yuu can prove yuu come from hawaiian decent yuu are a hawaiian...keaukaha hawaiian pride cheeeee

  • Opps, I have to stop this video after a few mins, Canada does the VERY Same thing, If you have Any native blood and can prove it you are givin free money etc, No differnt then America dose, And who is this other white guy? He must think he's native to huh?

  • I'm from Hawaii and I still don't understand how people can say land was stolen from the "people of Hawaii". We owned NOTHING. The royal family owned everything. The people were oppressed under a monarchy. Stop whitewashing the past!!!

  • @wesnikki I agree, none of the natives today seem to know this, certenly they can't remember that, Why? Becouse none of them where Alive Then LOL How could you feel pain, or be missriable for something that you never Knew to start with? thats like saying a baby can remember the moment of its conception and misses it. its insain. Theres a dirty little rumor going around that some of these groups where started by non-american's wishing to destabilize hawwii such as china or russia

  • Sorry to burst the bubble but the blood quantum law was not just the work of the US. Prince jonah kalaniole kuhio supported this and he was queen Liliuokalani's nephew

  • @TheKavebear The Akaka Bill indicates that you must have a parent or even a grandparent who would be eligible for the Hawaii Homstead Act of 1921. So, you can be 1/4 Hawaiian. Plus you would have to show membership/affilication with a Hawaiian Organization.

  • @TheKavebear Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalaniana'ole; he also wanted to sue that the Queen was mentally incompetent to control her estate....

  • The first people to settle in the Hawaiian islands came from Africa. What we see today in Hawaii is the after effects of genocide, colonialism, and now a form of apartheid.

  • @lorettab77 youre on crack. The first settlers on Hawaii were originally Samoan.

  • @janson84 you are both incorrect. the first settlers were from the Marquases (Nukuhiva) and Tahiti

  • @janson84 you are both incorrect. the first settlers were from the Marquases (Nukuhiva) and Tahiti

  • @janson84 not from samoa but marquesas and Tahiti, still polynesian though.

  • @Nero49er true not from samoa but marquesas nd tahiti, hawaiians are closest to tahitians than any other poly people

  • It's amazing how the story of indigenous people are the same every where ... living in harmony, bartering with each other, respectful to mother nature, even accepting others into into their nations that are respectful and loyal, i.e. in this case, Philipinos, Japanese ... but then the whites show up with their disrespect and need to own EVERYTHING ... and their goes paradise for the natives.

  • nothing stays the same sorry "natives" Hawaii was empty before the polynesians traveled up to Hawaii Life has changed and so does homelands allover the world. Maybe the native Indians in the USA should get itall back. English out of N Ireland WHo had Israel first originallyAll foreigners out of Africa. Spain get out of the Americas French and English out of Canada give it back tothe Native Indians Caribbean back to theNative Indians Irish were forced into Australia by English-prison at one time

  • dont make it right for you haole's to illegally occupy our islands and tell us what language we can speak and what we can and cannot do. it does not justify all the wrongs you people did.we not talkin about israel or ireland now we talking about hawaii. and EVERYWHERE was empty before adam and eve you monkey. we was on the islands long before you people. to be able to be part of something that had wrongfully happened to a people. is to be able to really know how it feels to be oppressed.

  • @34sunbun native americans never established themselves as a nation. Of course that is unfair to them, but the fact that Hawaii was a monarchy with treaties with many other countries gives Hawaiians grounds for sovereignty.

  • if u have "one drop" of hawaiian blood ur considred native hawaiian but if u live there and pledged urself to the "gov" then ur a hawaiian national...

    i guess?

  • listen listen listen, hawaii is a remote chain of islands. never been there but i heard it is true paradise. but come on man, dont do it, dont split up, you'll regret it.

  • you HEARD!! thats the difference between really knowing what us Hawaiians go through and hearing from other people. all that hollywood stuff talkin about hawaii is ALL false, and from whoever who dont know what we go through. Regret it? you dont know nothing. talk to me when you really know about Hawaii. none of that stupid hollywood stuff or tv shit.

  • So as a fourth generation islander of Portuguese descent I am a Hawaiian?

  • @sgsfguy 1st your nationality is Hawaiian and 2nd your ethnicity is Portuguese in that order

  • Aloha Isaac,

good to see you. Good to see you never give up.

    Cheers from Germany

    Stefan

  • How long ago was this interview? I jut took a class on history of Hawaii, and we were told that the Hawaiian movement is dead. Is that true?

  • Obviously NOT! Hawaiians are still in pursuit of justice! Stop listening to haole teachers, they only WISH we'd stop.. however we will never stop.. speaking for myself, as long as i have life in my body i will pursue justice!

  • People must not give up! Hawaii has been occupied since 1778 because they never ceded their land!

The battle is long but as long as the movement don't give up.. one day their nation should be returned again.
