The Russian army is 10 billion times stronger than the US army? Exactly what are you basing that opinion on? Sure, they have a few hundred thousand more troops and their technology rivals ours, but their military is mostly made of young conscripts, while ths US military is all volunteer.

Now, let's look at Russia's military history over the last 25 years.
1) Afghanistan - what happened to them is pretty much the same thing that is happening to th US - 10 years invested and nothing to show for it
2) Chechnya - two wars with a republic the size of Prince Edward Island, and they literally blew the place into oblivion, but the rebels are still there, still carrying out terrorist attacks
3) Georgia - again, they blew a place the size of New Jersey into the stone age
