im in that class at lbsu currently. its a lot of fun. i had the honor of getting hit in the face by Sifu Tsou... i hit him back. haha, it was a training drill that got outa hand. the man is aggressive its not my fault. I think the outcome was about tied, although i got the last point. ne way he is a great teacher. im looking forward to the tournament in January
This is one of the best explanations of hidden technique I have seen. It's just like how we explain bunkai in Okinawan kata. Excellent! Who is this teacher and where does he teach?
Wow, That video was awesome. I myself lived in China for about 8 years, and I have always been interested in Martial Arts. I used to like Chinese martial arts, but then I discovered Western martial arts which seemed, well... more practical and less showy. However, I always hoped that someone would come along and put the practicality back into the Chinese weapon arts. Finally, my hopes have been answered. Keep up the good work.
I think it is originally from Wu Dang Mountain. Then it gets associated with Taichi. Sifu Tsou is demonstrating the version modified by Li Shu Wen, which is the Wu Tang lineage. I've been to chessman71's blog, he has many people who's interested in martial history discussing on his blog. You may find more info there.
There is an almost identical counter to the first one in this clip in 14th century German longsword fencing. Transition from wrath guard to pflug, then thrust...
Can you elaborate your question a little more? The wrist as a target for the person using the technique? The role of the wrist in order to properly execute the technique? Which technique?
Thank you all for your encouragements. We will continue to put out great jianshu contents. If you have any specific question you can post a video reply and we will try to answer in detail with a video also
