This is a traditional way of playing in this part of Punjab. Also on Indian side in Freozpur district they have this style-- a different style of dhol and dagga, and use of bare hand. Keep in mind the rhythms aren't all for dancing to. That's why you won't hear the "rubbish" of luddi chals all the time. It's not British made up dhol, it's real Punjabi folk dhol. Sorry to burst ur bubble
