  • Fact: If you replace EVERY inch of farmland in the US with corn used for ethanol, you only reduce the demand for fossil fuels (here in america) by 12%!....ethanol is NOT the solution...unless you kill 88% of the rest of america.

  • why not subidize another crop other than corn to make ethonal?

  • lol sugar cane in america will make things worse because it does not grow well there. I think cellulosic ethanol is the way to go. That way we can use switchgrass and other non-food crops that wont disrupt food. It takes more work to make cellulosic ethanol but it is much better with the foodvsfuel debate

  • I'm sorry, but Corn Ethanol is wrong wrong wrong. The wrong answer, it is inefficient and causes famine. Sugar-cane is the correct answer for ethanol, corn is too inefficient and is better feeding people not SUVs (Every time you fill up that requires the amount that could give you food for an entire year on corn. You fill up a lot too now imagine a million people filling up 52 times a year.)

  • I am running a Subaru Legacy on a 3/2 Ethanol/gas blend. Same MPG! tinyurl com/5nftmm
