umm i have to say ure being a little naive there..ill bet allison got that role becos if her amazing acting skills from theatre when younger, her singing talent which megan hilty praises and of course her hilarious comic ability that just suited her for the role of lily tomlins character..IMHO

Just wondering, how was Allison picked to do the part? Because I know if I was starting a new musical, I'd want bigger Broadway names to be on the playbill. Just me and my opinion, and that and 50 cents will get you a bag of chips:)

My very first Musical with OBC!!!!! I'm primarily seeing it for Stephanie J. Block (note the username ahaha) because she was my Elphaba on Broadway, and her Husband, Sebastian, took me backstage at Jersey Boys! Such a freakin good day.

Allison carries her part quite well. Her voice isn't as nice as Megan's or Stephanie's but she works for me. I don't have a problem with her in this role. I'm sure if there was any question about her doing 8 shows a week she wouldn't have been hired. I saw her 7th & 8th show of the week and she sounded fine to me both shows.

The show was fun. Allison really was great in acting and holding her own, but not in singing. Megan was perfect! Andy Karl was adorable! I met Andy, Megan and a couple other people after the show. Everyone was very nice. The show needs some work before it gets to Broadway. Allison and Andy need a big kiss at the end-the "love story" needs more development. I feel sorry for the guy who they hoist up the entire second act! I keep singing that title song.

It was really good. Sets were amazing. I had never seen a set design like it. No song really stuck out except one which was get out and stay out. Very funny but i think they just have to work out some kinks. It was slow at times. But overall it was very entertaining

As much as I think Alison Janney is a fantastic actress, I really don't think she's much of a singer! I'd worry about her performing in this show 8 shows a week. I don't think her voice will cut it. Steph and Megan are amazing as always

I agree, she is the perfect Violet as far as acting goes. But her singing was just not on point, it wasn't awful or anything, but I'm worried about her doing 8 shows a week. I doubt she'll be able to do it for very long.
