With respect sir — because it seems like you're well-intentioned and making an honest attempt to figure out the truth — I don't think you really have a good grasp on libertarian/anarcho-capitalist thinking.
Firstly, one must take issue with your whole method of analysis. The idea that one can say:
'hmmm.... let's say that this and this happens, and then look, this and this happens,. and oh look how unlovely that is? see?'
@GreshamsLaw The essence of Galt's Gulch is that it is an environment where people deal one another with just laws. Each man does not contradict his very moral existence, because he recognises that he, and every other human owns himself and his own stuff. Each man also recognises that his capacity to act affords no notion of self-sacrifice, and that he should respect this ontological nature of reality by embracing himself accordingly.
@GreshamsLaw You cannot say 'You'll still need healthcare, blah blah blah' - that is not up to you to decide. People will want what they will, and should they want it enough, someone else - in his own interest - will provide it.
If you are confused about the 'complexity' of 'managing society', then I assure you - you are not alone! THe notion that any given man or group of men acting with the gun can arrange things effectively is silly. Without a proper functioning marketplace there are no....
@GreshamsLaw ...immediate means by which to gauge what people want. That's why you need a market!
Sorry, with regards to the 'threat of force', I must encourage you not to twist words. For, conceptually, one is then being threatened by the Ferarri dealership's refusal to provide my with my god-given right to a Ferrari at £3.50.
To the next stuff about all the environmental nonesense: EUhhh,,,, I'm getting so tired now.. !
@GreshamsLaw It saddens me that this was the first video in the google search results for 'Galts Gulch'. Maybe I'll narrate one of the long speeches from Atlas Shrugged about Galts Gulch...
How refreshing: calm, rational expression of exciting, rational ideas. One might experience that Stateside public discourse seldom includes this quality of ideas and, thus, explain the excitement as one listens to dlcu38.
These ideas appear to be our old companion, reality. Or at least one version of reality and that one familiar to me.
Galt's Gulch was the Utopia envisioned by Ayn rand in her novel "Atlas Shrugged". It was a world owned by a single man: the banker Midas Mulligan. In Galt's Gulch, Midas Mulligan made all the rules, owned all the land, owned all the banks, minted the money, controlled food distribution. Everyone else was just a sharecropping serf. In 2010, Rand's Utopia is becomming reality as bankers are buying up everything. We are making a hell on earth. We are making a planet-wide Galt's Gulch.
I am looking to establish 'The Valley' if anyone is interested... I've already created Halcyon - an enclave for Artist and Thinkers - a collective hiding away from the world until the Motor Stops... this year we will see the Motor Stop.
John Galt lives!
Did you read the book? For real? Hospitals and competition for roads? I think you missed about 1000 pages buddy. lol Sorry, got back to square one and try it again - or actually read the book not skim. ;?0
Very good points, but this is just the sort of thing that the Ayn Rand army marches out to attack.
I plan to make a similar video on this subject in a week or so, but of course mine will be way too long and I'll use too many words. I'll just take forever to get to the point.

@GreshamsLaw This video has clarified the sentiment behind the word; blasphemy. And no.. I'm not referring to religion.

Well, I'd be quite happy to have the debate. I look forward to your video - I don't think you're too wordy, btw. Discursive, but pleasantly so.
