The fight scenes are shit, very poor, slow, all the DB fans expected brutal fights, super strong people,destroying buildings, amazing techniques, and power out of this world never seen before in a movie.

First they make Forbidden Kingdom which is Journey to the West, one of China's four great novels ever and the basis for Dragonball. The movie was an insult to one of the finest things Ive ever read. Now they make DB and destroy one of the finest anime series Ive ever seen. It looks so cheesy. Piccolo looks like a shit alien from the Star Trek shows in later years. Ive seen better on SciFi channel and that's pretty sad. In both movies they cast some horrible young actors as the leads as well.

Like I've said before the some guy came along and wanted to do a movie, but had no theme, plot, or setting so he just used dragonball to fill those slots. This is just some bad kung fu movie.
I think it will be interesting. I was very qworried about this story being different, but now that I've heard that Akira, the series creator, gave the film his thumbs up I'm kinda excited to see it now, it's kind of like a reboot but its the first live action version. It'll be interesting to see if it is anygood.

everyone chill out. i love dragonball too, but compared to the first trailer it looks alot better. i mean before we all thought picolo was yellow. he is old, the actor for picolo was a dragon ball fan and in an iterview he said told the writers he had to look old like he was in prison. this is dragon ball set in a today setting. it looks pretty badass, it may be innaccurate, but who wants to see the same exact movie in live action. watch the movie and you will see it will be good. i have faith

First they make Forbidden Kingdom which is Journey to the West, one of China's four great novels ever and the basis for Dragonball. The movie was an insult to one of the finest things Ive ever read. Now they make DB and destroy one of the finest anime series Ive ever seen. It looks so cheesy. Piccolo looks like a shit alien from the Star Trek shows in later years. Ive seen better on SciFi channel and that's pretty sad. In both movies they cast some horrible young actors as the leads as well.

Really you guys are stupid and retarded. STop relating this movie to DBZ! Because the movie is based on DragonBall (not Z or GT!). Goku was weak then, and a bit more powerfull than a human champ. And Picollo was a bad guy then.(so no vegeta or freeza!). The mistake is that they made goku a teenager while in the cartoon he was just a little kid (with a stick)and roshi was very old, not young). Really some of you who keep calling themeselvs 'true DBZ fans' are f*cking idiots. Cant wait to see it;)

It is impossible to please the fans. End of discussion. Movies are made to take in as much *CA$H* as possible, not to please the fans. If this movie were made to please only the fans of the series, all those who do not like or follow the series will pay to see something else instead.

Partially Disagree.
Transformers the Movie wasn't 100% faithful, and they still did a good job at it.
it would be tuff to satisfy fans 100%(just like Transformers didn't), but this one doesn't satisfy fans at all.
O well, They just bought the license to the brand, then added names and concepts to the typical hollywood 'young kid + training from kungfu master = save the world' storyline

5 reason why it sucks:
1. The characters are out of place. (meaning their intentions, personality, and looks doesn't match their character role)
2. NO super saiyan
3. It looks like another "I'm an american I know how to make asian creations look good" movie. i.e. kill bill, Street Fighter the movie, etc.
4. storyline is crap.
5. The fighting looks like one of those old kung fu movies.
The only thing good I can say about this movie is that they have a few hot girls. ;)

This looks terrible... then add in the fact that it is trying to use DBZ as a backdrop. This could be one of the worst movies of all time in my book even if its decent. It just pisses me off that when most americans think of DBZ they will think of this... think of all of the explanations i will have to give.

I think it will be interesting. I was very qworried about this story being different, but now that I've heard that Akira, the series creator, gave the film his thumbs up I'm kinda excited to see it now, it's kind of like a reboot but its the first live action version. It'll be interesting to see if it is anygood.

the US fans are just as sad about this, think of it as a standalone product and you'll be okay...it does make a mockery of db franchise, but if you look at it by itself it may not be halfbad, that's what i've been thinking.
I've been a dragonball fan since i was 9 years old growing up with toonami...this shouldn't happen to something like dragonball but the least we can do is make the most of it
