I love how right before the Deacon says, "well anyone can have an off night," at 5:25, everyone seems to be talking and doing their own thing. Yet right when he says that, everybody turns to him and laughs :P the deacon has some kinda power lol
I try to watch this show every morning. It is so positive. I wish there were more shows like it now. Family Matters was another show that made me happy whenever it came on. I mean, I DO enjoy shows that aren't so positive but these kind of shows are something I enjoy seeing because the comedy is so innocent (almost corny--but in a good way). Plus, they teach you valuable lessons.
The Rev: I have a degree from morehouse a masters in divinity from Yale Divinity and a Doctorate in theogy from United Theology School.. The Deacon: Well do u believe n God HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA lol too funny
The late John Hancock was a great actor. He played the first minister in the pilot episode. Before Clifton Davis (Reuben Gregory) took his place as minister. He made alot of appearences on sitcoms like Diff'rent Strokes (1978), Cheers (1982), Who's the Boss (1984), Amen (1986), Family Ties (1983), and Family Matters (1989). He passed away in 1992 at the age of 51 of a massive heart attack. I'm sorry he died a terrible death. His worked will always be remembered.
LOL The theme song popped in my head and I was like I KNOW somebody on YouTube has it up! LOL and they do! I love the theme song, when I was little I thought "Deacon Frye" is a kool ass dude he can jump double dutch better than most girls I know! Love it thanks for posting it!
all i really remember about this show is how sheman hemsley's daughter was all in love with this guy called reuben who couldn't even notice her. "reuben! reuben! oh whatever you say reuben."
I remember back when I was at High School they had this show at 6:00 am and I used to watch it before goign to school George Jeffferson but the Church version hehehe weaseyyyy!!!
Deacon Frye: and your weight is up about two hundred and fifty percent. lol

@anthonyisme No I'm not a seller. People have asked if they could buy copies, that would be too much work, and I don't have the time.

that lady thelma that plays reverends daughter...looks like she could also play his wife in the right clothes and hairstyle...just my two cents.

It is so hard and disappointing to know that this really DOES exist in the the Lord's Holy Temple. People having to be paid to serve GOD.
