It is a pity though becuase it would appear that had she remained in his life, John would have possible reunited with the other Beatles.

@jamaicanbailey I could not have put it better. Paid concubine, even after John went back to The Dakota. Both Yoko and May continue to feed off John--hardly the acts of one who loves. As for a Beatles reunion, neither May nor Yoko could have initiated or blocked it. But to think they could shows how John has been diminished as something so much less than a great talent with a mind of his own.

But May herself told me that the dynamic was to hire a Chinese girl, in service to a (supposedly superior) Japanese mistress of the house. I was appalled then and I still am. May would not admit any of that now, for she has climbed atop the mountain of myth-making just as Yoko has. For both women, there is a karma to be paid.

I enjoyed May Pang's book and that wonderful, wonderful song that Lennon wrote for her, "Surprise, Surprise!" I heard it and thought, "He didn't write that for Yoko! It's not like her at all." Later I learned it was for May Pang.
