instead of G Major during the verse try Gm6 and leave the D string open. Low E, G, B strings all on 3rd fret. The G note holds the root and the B flat and E flat ring through to make it nice and dark/minor....
You are definately a singer, dude I thought you had the song playing in the background that was good bro :-)
