  • Mental note: don't wear Linkin Park T's in public anymore.

  • Linkin park are fags what the fuck man

  • The two top comments have a lot of trouble with the name, "Linkin."

  • No.

  • Hetfield got the Kill 'Em All tone using a Proco RAT in front of his Marshall JCM 800.

  • Ah by the way that is a sweet GEETAR. Played one similar in a shop. Couldn't buy because I'm sitting on too much shit to begin with..... HAHA. And I SUCK with guitar.

  • man i give you big like just keep practice and play , this 8 dislikers are assholes

i support you because i see you like metallica

  • I wanna buy a guitar but i have been playing bass for like almost 3 years now using fingers. Would i be able to transit from fingers to pick if I play both instruments? I tried alternating with a pick the other day on my bass and its so difficult.

  • Man up and get a fuckin Jackson

  • consider urself sued :P

    jks man relax

  • linkin park for the gay

  • Good sound, technique of play bad.

  • is a flying v a good guitar for metallica because maybe i'll buy 1 later when i have collected enough money first going to buy epiphone 1984 explorer with emg's

  • @troubletoe It's an excellent guitar, especially for their older stuff. It feels really good and it's pretty versatile.

  • @Nihilous do u think epiphone flying v korina 1958 would sound good for their songs too ?

  • @troubletoe when you first pick it up the pickups will fell as if their on fire

  • @troubletoe Uh just to let you know, Metallica's First 5 Albums were recorded with pretty much the same V as this guy's using. You want there tones? Kill 'Em All - Master of Puppets you'd use a GIBSON flying V, Pickups make a huge difference. Garage Days revisted 1987 EP - now is Various guitars but mostly just a Gibson or ESP, Jackson with EMG 81, 60, 85's. Don't forget you can also set a guitar to the specs you want.

  • @troubletoe

If you have the right pedals, you can turn a telecaster into a murder weapon.

  • @troubletoe bij rockpalace? ik heb die namelijk hij is fcking metal ouwe

  • loosen up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LINKING PARK T-SHIRT!!!!!!!!!

u play the best music of metallica and you wear LINNKING PARK?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

in what kinda world did i entert

  • @koenikick clearly not one where spelling counts

  • @koenikick a world where spelling clearly doesnt exist..

  • LINKI PARK T-SHIRT?! WTF?! more bass man

  • I just got tar v today, its amazing

  • Excellent. Brilliant playing mate

  • nihilous, im going to usa and i'd like to know if you could recommend me some guitars, i like metallica so fuckin much :) I wanna spend about 500~600$ on it.

    thx

  • @edubhansen That's going to be very difficult for $500-600. You might want to buy a 2nd hand Flying V (shouldn't be absolutely impossible for $600) or ditch Gibson altogether and go for an Epiphone Les Paul Standard (they're pretty nice, pickups could be a lot better though).

If you want looks ánd sound, it's gonna cost money. If you're satisfied with good sound (and excellent playability), I can recommend the Yamaha Pacifica series (but do change the pickups).

  • @edubhansen Or if you find anything else from Epiphone that floats your boat, go nuts! Just remember that you'll probably want to change the pickups.

Btw, I don't know where you're from, but guitars aren't necessarily cheaper in the USA at the moment (and don't forget customs, maybe extra costs for luggage...)

  • @Nihilous man thank you so much (Y)

  • @edubhansen Look at ltd or maybe a cheap jackson because newer metallica is endorsed by esp the mother brand of ltd. But if you like their older stuff there is a epiphone explorer and flying v in natural colors and those play pretty well and those are like 550.

  • @edubhansen Ever consider getting a Godin Redline guitar? They start the guitar off in Canada and finish it up in the US and their about $400-500 brand new and have an EMG 81 in the bridge and sound good for Metallica from about Master of Puppets on-or try a Dean even. But it will be hard to buy something USA made in that price range.

  • man emg's are better??

    thx

  • @edubhansen Different, yes. Better, difficult to say. I prefer a Seymour Duncan Invader (SH-8) to an EMG-81 as a bridge pickup (and the 500T is pretty nice too), but I really like the EMG-60 as a neck pickup, so I'm undecided.

Be sure to check the tone in my other video's, I think I've improved it quite a bit since this one.

  • @Nihilous

Try some bareknuckle pickups ( holy diver ) - they will blow your mind

  • flying v or explorer?

  • @edubhansen hahahahaha! Can't you see its a flying v the body is a V hahahah :-)

  • @tjalfedaugaard noo, who wins, what do you prefer i mean...

  • @edubhansen Never played an explorer. Would love to own a white '84 reissue, with EMG's of course :-)

  • @Nihilous HAHA, me too ;)

  • @edubhansen Ohh sorry.. . The explorer it look so sexy :)

  • holy shit dude what are you using?

  • @InMyDarkestHour96 You mean the settings for the MT-2? Low maxed, high at 3 o' clock, mid at about 2 o' clock and mid freq at about 10 o' clock (you need to tweak mid and mid freq a little to get it just right). Level and gain at 12 o' clock.

I could use just the amp and an overdrive, but I need to keep the volume down and the pedal allows me to do just that.

  • @Nihilous no i mean pedals and amps and pickups

  • @InMyDarkestHour96 I'm using a Gibson Flying V '67 (reissue) with stock pickups (Gibson 500T/496R) through a Boss Metalzone (MT-2) into a Marshall JCM800 100W combo from 1984 or 1986, I keep forgetting.

I'm not 100% satisfied with the sound, but I'm getting there.

  • @Nihilous i am quite young guitar player and i was wondering what is the best amp to buy?

  • @InMyDarkestHour96 That's a difficult question to answer. I depends on what styles you'd like to play, whether you're just going to use it to practice or really perform and of course your budget.

If you want a cheap, reliable amp for practice, I can recommend a Roland Cube-30 (got a 60 myself, but the 30s are nice as well).

If you want to go tube instead of digital, you're going to have to hunt down an old, cheap one. And don't forget (most) tube amps don't have a headphone out.

  • @Nihilous thanks for your help :D

  • @Nihilous where did you get the flying v from?

  • @InMyDarkestHour96 I got it from Keymusic in Belgium for €860. Prices online are about €900.

  • Linkin park AND metallica riffs, what does this...thats thats jus FAGGOTRY

  • @Sakeroz OH YEAH?! WELL...

...yeah you're right. They really suck nowadays.

But Hybrid Theory still is a great album.

In my defense, it's an old t-shirt :-)

  • @Nihilous well nice playing, and they USED to be good ^^. Have fun man :D

  • Just noticed that the image stabilization is doing something pretty weird: look at the machine heads whenever the neck moves :D

  • @Nihilous TRIPPY!

  • what do you say about putting emgs on it ?? some ppl dont like it , because you get compleatly diffrent guitar, can it give more gain etc? great video !!

  • @snowmenhunter EMG's certainly wouldn't sound bad. I've had a EMG 81/60 combo in an Epiphone Les Paul and it sounded pretty good. However, since the electronics cavity isn't accessible from the back, you'd have to remove the pickguard everytime a battery change is needed. Though that isn't impossible, I would really advise against doing that a lot.

That and the 500T/496R combo sounds really good (500T is already high output).

Besides, everyone else is already using EMG's :-)

  • excelent job well done!

is that a one channel jcm 800 or a two channel jcm 800?

  • @plexilespaul

    Thx!

    It's a one channel 100W combo, 4103 if I'm not mistaken.

The MT-2's hooked up to the low gain input, pre-amp maxed.

Contrary to what most people do, I boost the mids with the MT-2.

All the amp's dials are at 10 (except master). It's a Marshall after all :-)
