@cassman1979 the dimples ar meant to break the air flow or something and make them go farther but i dont see it infact i think they ar more inaccurate check out cockerpunk they just did a video on these balls a little while ago
@cassman1979 they use powder because it doesnt settle like paint does so weight is distibuted more evenly. liquid paint also resists acceleration so powder scientificly showld make em fly better. the dimples made them shoot themselves in the foot though, they suck.
I agree, I have never been a proponent of dimpled paintballs. Tom Kaye convinced me of that a long time ago. I would like to see how a consistently made smooth ball performs before going into how deformed ones do. The seam on regular paintball is what causes most accuracy problems anyway. A no seam paintball would be fun to test.
That's too bad. I am always interested in different formulations for the outside of a paintball as I see that as the major pitfall of paintballs. If we could see a new material used on the outside of paintballs that resisted the external temp and humidity we could improve the shelf life and accuracy of the balls.
@LoveMyMagMoreThanYou Yeah, the wax shell/powder fill could still have potential if they removed the dimples. If you hold one of these, you'll notice the seam is dimple-less which is probably what causes the squirly flight.
I have tried these balls with my SP-1 with Freak .687 insert and was very impressed with them. To be fair, I would have like to have seen the same guy shoot a hopper of regular paintballs, to prove he was not a good shot with either types. Don't blame the balls!
You can see the individual balls make sudden changes of direction in flight, corkscrewing and even zig-zagging.
No matter how good or bad a shot the shooter is, that kind of erratic *ball* behaviour after leaving the barrel (has nothing to do with the shooter) will throw off anybody's aim.
Jesus. It almost looks like the movie wanted.

The balls in this video went where ever you shot, in some parts the gun was moving in a circle.

i'd like to know what velocity this guy is shooting at though. Even with regulat pbs if the velocity is too high they'll do that
MexicanKiwi1989 2 years ago
@MexicanKiwi1989 I was shooting at 260, 245, and 220 with pretty much the same results...

what is the reasoning behind them as far as them being power filled?

Thanks for the reply, yea I already seen that video, I was moreless wondering why they would go to the powder instead of keeping the paint fill.
cassman1979 2 years ago
yeh i dont have a clue why they would go for a powder fill they ar heavier aswell coz of it
Tonkpils6969 2 years ago
its has something to do with liquid slowing down the paintball where powder doesnt but after seeing this vid they look like crap

@bigras0272 I was shooting regular paint all day long, and yes, I'm a pretty good shot.
Follow the link in the description for full info on the setup(s) I tried.
I stand by my final comment. The balls are garbage.
