  • Sonic Youth has now done two of the greatest covers i've ever heard. This and Superstar.

  • sounds like a great melding of sonic youth/dylan/leonard cohen

  • Bob Dylan changed the world. semplicemente.

  • a voz do bob ta muito diferente ai (:

  • his lyrics always amaze me, i've yet to hear a song that doesnt speak to me or one i dont understand, its absolutely amazing

  • Can anyone tell me the name of the song in the beginning of the film? During the black and white credits?

  • @Paperhouse81 Stuck inside a mobile with the Memphis blues again

  • it's so great I can't wait to hear the original version- does anybody know whether it was officially released?

  • bob dyan wines to much i like this tune

  • @ben5076 I wish I could whine like Dylan

  • your lyrics stink, valurthor.

  • @MajaLisaKehlet but thanks for the upload

  • it's like all along the watch tower made by hendrix.

    Well done sonics!

  • Well it’s too hard to stake in And I don’t far believe

It’s all bag for to me using “Bitches are hard, too hard to leave”

    It’s a low, it’s a crime The way she won’t be around

But she’s told for to hate me But disappoint the painted clown

Yes I believe that its rightful Oh I believe it in my mind

I been told, like I said, When I before carry on the crime

And she's all get to told her, Like I said, carry on

I wish I was there to help her But I’m not there I’m gone

  • Well it’s all about confusion As I cry for her belle

I don’t need anybody now Beside me to tell

And it’s all affirmation I receive but it’s not

She’s a lone hearted beauty But she’s gone like this spot

    And she’s gone

Yes, she’s gone like the rainbow That shining yesterday

But now she’s home beside me And I’d like her here to stay

    She’s a beau-forsaken beauty And it’s “don’t trust anyone”

And I wish I was beside her But I’m not there I’m gone

  • Now I’ve cried tonight Like I cried the night before

And I’m leased on the horizon But I dream about the door

It's so long, she’s forsaken By a fate worse to tell

It don’t hang proclamation She smiles “fare thee well”

Now I went out to treat the lady, I was born to love her

But she knows that the kingdom Weighs so high above her

And I run, but I race But it’s not too fast for so-alone

But I don’t deceive her I’m not there I’m gone

  • No, I don’t belong to her I don’t belong to everybody

She’s my Christ-forsaken angel But she don’t hear me cry

    She’s a lone-hearted mystic And she's daren't carry on

When I’m there she’s all right But when she’s not when I’m gone

Heaven knows that’s the answer She’s don’t callin no one

She’s the way a-sailing beautiful She’s mine for the one

And I lost her hesitating By temptation less it runs

But she don’t honour me But I’m not there I’m gone

  • Everything’s all right And she holds her tight In my neighbourhood She cried both day and night I know it because he was there It’s a milestone but She’s down on her luck And she’s daily so looning but to making hard to buck I remain I believe where she stopping If she wants time to care I believe that she’d Look upon deciding to care And I go by the Lord in a way She’s on my way But I don’t belong there
  • can anyone give me a link to the original by Bob? it used to be up here but it has disapeared thank you xxx

  • bob dylan music and lyrics are good but I often get put off by his voice so i tend to just listen to covers instead.

  • All you guys ripping Dylan need to respect what he did for music even if you dont like his, plus to be able to give the middle finger to media and still come out on top is awesome. He let his songwriting do the talking and did what he wanted. Pretty freaking cool. Love the Sonic Youth and the cover too.

  • i can't stand dylan, but I love this cover. don't know why.

  • @mihait39 Ya a lot of people can't stand him, still have to respect what he did for music though.

  • Bob Dylan is awesome and so are Sonic Youth. Sonic Youth make some amazing covers.

  • This is cool man !!!!

  • This really does justice to the original recording, even in the way it's mixed! I absolutely love it!

  • holy cow, I love his voice. And awesome lyrics by my fav artist :)

  • you tube.com/watch?v=LZqQQRTVXbU, that's the url for the the real song! bob dylan and the band, it's amazing and beautiful!

Is that Ginsberg standing behind Dylan?

  • @Chulacker its david cross as ginsberg and ms blanchette as dylan

  • @Chulacker yes.

  • strong bass! i like it!

  • The lyrics that come up on this are Wrong..... I was there = Now and then..... jesus!

  • this is soul saving stuff...

  • never thought id say this but the youth does dylan better than dylan and im a huge dylan fan so thats saying a lot

  • would be nice to see Bob's original version come back...

  • This version of "I'm Not There", which was first done by Bob Dylan in the late sixties and later added to The Basement Tapes, is awesome. I wish the original with his lyrics was on youtube.

  • @teenwithforce4 ...it was...but taken off about a year ago by the company who owned the copy rights

  • The Bob is holding out on us lol.

  • I love this cover! I love Sonic Youth! I love Bob Dylan! This is the shit right here...

  • @freegadflyathome This shit right here.. nigga... A, nigga.. this shit right here nigga...

    MEGA LOLZ!!

Look up the reference if you don't get it.

    Katt Williams.

  • Imagine if Dylan and The Band actually had taken the time to work on this song. Dylan's table scraps are even better than his finished products.

  • @jackassfromnc Most moments of brilliance can't be recorded. I've had a moment like that but it was diluted by alcohol and love.

  • i just love this song so much.

  • I think that's because he took the lyrics from the original song, Sonic Youth changed a lot of words.

  • great song but your lyrics are some way off
