  • 266mhz, i expected it to be slow

  • 266mhz is slooooow

  • игрушка для детей

  • This netbook is outdated now. 1 Year ago, it would have been considered good for the price. (I bought one from ebay and have been very satisfied with it).

Nowadays, there has been a boom of Cheap android tablets that cost the same as this netbook except with 800mhz processor rather than 266 and 256mb ram rather than 128mb.

    ASTF.TK

  • where can u get this product?? please write back!!!

  • fileserve . com / file/bx3DCCv / Games For Windows CE

games for windows ce games like doom duke nukem 3d ect

NO PASSWORD just remove the spaces in the link

  • How do you download Linux for this?

  • no youtube suck !!!

  • What is the model No.?

  • @callkaro911

    Generic. It doesn't have one.

This particular version isn't sold anywhere. There are thousands of the better 300mhz 7 inch mini netbook on youtube, ebay, CVS, k-mart, etc also less than 100 dollars.

  • @edve29 no!

  • The linux tutorials are soooo confusing.

  • i tryed two of these sort before (one with wi-fi and one with sim-card) but if ANYTHING says windows ce don't bother because it's very difficult to download compatible software for it because all the websites get mixed up with similar phone-based os's.

AND DON'T BE FOOLED BY SOME WITH XP-STYLED OR VISTA/SEVEN STYLED WALLPAPERS! NOR BE CONFUSED BY THE SIMILAR-TO-XP-LOOKING CE LOGO! go for linux.

  • @edve29

    nope

  • Maybe Android! :P

    or QTopia

or simply a super basic debian for arm!!

    BUT NO WINDOWS!

    :S

  • linux is a MUST on this. CE sucks.

  • Use Linux ARM builds and have much more fun with this thing.

  • i got one and its awesome

  • actually if you install Linux on it it is very good, as it has ARM which is British designed and an excellent processor, these things are excellent if your a student, there cheap durable, can have work, pretty good

  • its

    crap...

  • @bluelava12 if you had a mind you would realize its the opposite of crap

  • Linux work's in this PC???

  • Can this netbook install antivirus or something?

  • works with puppy linux distribution??

  • Is there possibility to install some ligh-weight distro with a XFCE-based desktop environment on it? Would it run some better Office suite then? What about ZSNES or DOSBOX? Are those emulators X0886-only?

  • What can you do with it? : Nothing.

  • @MarantzSt153 dude, if you had one you would find out that it can do alot of things

  • fajne to :-) Pozdro Ziomale :P

  • Haven't used a single of these things ever, but it's easy to tell by looking at the specs that all you can use it for is basically writing. Don't expect this to be usable for anything else, really. Don't flame these 'smartbooks' -- with a VIA processor it's more a gadget, comparable in abilities to smartphones, rather than an actual computer.

  • Save your money, its a piece of shit.

  • @badge717 You made me realize that this thing could waste my money.. Thanks for that! Haha

  • looks like your having some trouble getting it open

  • can you hook up an external hard drive to this, and also can you download like google chrome

  • thats great for children 5-10

  • this processor is slower than my phone...

  • @kyismaster

your phone does not have a keyboard or a mouse track.

You shouldn't compare phones to other computers because a phone IS a computer.

Believe it or not, phones are VERY overpowered these days. It would work fine even if the speed was cut in half. For the purpose of this laptop, 300mhz is all it needs. I have one and it works great!

  • @EpicAthiest Dont tell me what my phone does and doesnt have, and it so happens to have a keyboard and trackball. Its not your phone. Plus, that maybe all you need, but that much wouldn't even run MY email. I can barely run my applications on a 1.8 GHZ intel duo core 2. What i really need is a i core 3, or 5 at 2.4+ GHZ.

  • @kyismaster

You most likely have never run a System Cleanup utility.

A 1.8ghz computer should be way enough. Either you have too many processes running/not cleaning your computer or you are simply spoiled.

  • @EpicAthiest Spoiled hardly, I work for my crap. 83 processes, Hardly anything. And if i was truly spoiled, id already have a Quad core or intel "i" core series. I mean, even my Dad would complain about the computer above. and hes using something worse than one of my pentium 3 857 MHz computer and he says hes happy with it, this computer made him like gag. Also, stop claiming things I do regularly. I clean my computer religiously, that includes physical internals, And also system cleaning.

  • @kyismaster

83 processes is nothing? Heck no wonder it is so slow!!!

My computer even running Vista has only 30 proccesses.

    Jeeze! 83!

  • @EpicAthiest dude, thats nothing, usually my computer has over 93. or even sometimes over 100. I don't know about you but, I web design in photoshop, fireworks, management of web services online so i always have at least 6 tabs open, and also do live support over IM apps like aim, yim, msn, and also do digital arts and logo design for people. Yes i multi-task my computer to hell. What do you expect? im sure you just do average web browsing, if i left my computer like that it would be faster.

  • @kyismaster

    lol that explains it.

    Anyways, back to the topic.

This 300mhz netbook only needs that much to browse the internet. That's by definition of what a "Net-book" is for. It's not even for internet games because that falls in the realm of gaming. It means just light document reading, pictures, etc.

  • @EpicAthiest Sorta need a netbook now. just for my college work. How ever for my buisness life i sorta need a higher power, especially one with more GPU. Because multitasking starts to become trouble some, especially now that Im running on 1 GB and not 2GB because my brother had to have his replaced. Yeah, he stole a stick. Windows 7 started out good, because it used less processes but more RAM, but now that i lack RAM it sorta sucks. Gotta move back to windows XP soon.

  • @kyismaster

lol. Yeah. I think Windows XP is still the best (Speed-wise) compared to the newer OS. Windows XP is simpliciy and power at it's peak. If you want a buisness computer for power then you'd need a Desktop Replacement.

I'm planning on making money through the youtube Partnership program, maybe you should consider the extra money too.

  • @EpicAthiest i believe XP is one of the most stable and light weight OS in the Windows series that is still compatible with new software today. Sorry Im a webhost (( host websites/ servers )) . So i don't understand why i would really partner with youtube, unless i was advertising or some sort. Maybe featuring design, site, ect. But video tech is not my field of work. Im a server Super-Admin. Meaning I configure everything. Designing is actually only my off site job. but equally important.

  • @kyismaster

    Windows 2000 does,too.

    Though it's designed for Servers.

  • @EpicAthiest yeah, i believe XP is the most stable and light weight windows OS system that is still compatible with new software. Im a webhost so i don't know about getting a youtube partnership, I don't see why i would need one either.

  • can these things go on facebook, red tube, porn tube.. etc ?

  • @jondacajondaca i hope so cause i might buy one

  • @jondacajondaca YES but cant watch videos without flash player

  • @jondacajondaca

    -.-

No, but SOME of them have built-in youtube players.

The one this guy is holding in the video does not.

  • @WatchCharmedOnline does any one know what external disc drive works with this smart book?

  • @jondacajondaca no. facebook is fine. but for red tube and porn tube it just pops up a "get a girlfriend" error

  • @toranamunter ...................... wow okay

  • @jondacajondaca You can access anysite you wish aslong as you have an internet connection of some sort.

Cheapest around for travelling or light personal use.

  • @jondacajondaca 266 mhz + flash player = death. Youtube on linux = without problem, since you can easily run it without flashplayer. Look for scripts for other sites.

  • @jondacajondaca yes.

  • @jondacajondaca I have one of these. The browser has problems about sites that contain flash. It's an ancient version of Internet Explorer.

  • @jondacajondaca LMAO XD

  • does it have a built in camera??? or can u hook one up?

  • can use with broadband dongle?

  • Where do I buy this thing?

I'm from Europe. Can any1 tell me a website or something to order this?

    TNx in advance.. Peace

  • @SinmaOne buy on ebay use buy it now bidding is too stressful they are 70.00usd and 500 chineeseyuan

  • good to see anything non x86

  • @walter0bz Agreed. Now if we could only get rid of Windows CE and get a proper lightweight OS (i.e. Linux distro) on it.

  • @MyNameIsBucket of coarse you can do it

just save the linux distro file on an sd card

  • @bmsabistreich

    Lie.

  • What kind of linux,i can install on it,and how?

  • i would like to buy it. but i am thinkign do i really need it..

  • is it true that it can not play streaming video or flash ? it can't watch youtube, am i right ?

  • @userkc2008

It doesn't come with it, but there are 3rd party CE applications that does allow you to watch youtube.

  • Could you get a linux OS into one of these i wonder.

    increase usefullness 10 fold.

Being limited to winCE is a problem.

  • @samljer

Linux EMBEDDED is FAR weaker than CE EMBEDDED.

The embedded linux barely has any software. CE on the other hand, has tons.

  • @WatchCharmedOnline

linux embedded may be weak out of the box, but theres far more linux apps then CE apps you clearly arent a linux user.

  • @samljer

No, I'm not (though I used it before, got bored of it though) and you're clearly not a Windows CE user.

If you don't like these types of computers, why the fk are you posting in them.

    You like to troll?

  • @WatchCharmedOnline

dont try to be all mighty now because i caught you in a lie.

and i do use CE, just not on a shitty ass laptop.

FYI, douche, CE is for more then these shitty little machines

  • @samljer

You need a lesson in english.

A lie is "a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth; a falsehood."

Therefore, who are you to tell me what is in MY mind.

Your the stupid little lier for calling me a lier.

  • @WatchCharmedOnline

I know what it is, and your a fucking liar.

and even said in a later post, a contradiction.

im done with you, your pathetic attempt to "PRO-MS" is just lame.

as for my english, welcome to the internet, better just get used to it, asshat.

  • @samljer

You know what you should do with your ass hat? Wear it! It fits you perfectly!

  • @WatchCharmedOnline Dont be embarrased i caught you in a lie.

next time maybe your douche fuck ass shouldnt lie.

  • How much and where can I buy one in the U.K.?

  • battery time ??

  • @croberth

around 5 - 6 hours with wifi off. 3 hours with it on.

  • where can i get a smartbook? wal mart? Best Buy? Target? where please =)

  • ebay.

  • Ebay

  • Ebay , comprare una laptop de estas creo que me parece good, this netbook is gd

  • BTW, they HAVE connected but its roughly a crap shoot, as they work sometime and other times they dont. I have to play around with it, and it works more often with my neighbors signal than it does on my own.

  • Im having problem connecting it to a wifi network, I click on the bottom riight where the wifi is at.. and a window pop up it doesn't seem to be scanning for any wifi signals, any help would be appriciated.

  • lol, he says "rather than INTEL x86".

He forgot about AMD, IBM, NEC, OKI, Siemans, UMC.....the list goes on and on.

  • I don't think he wanted to bore us.

  • Does this run youtube, facebook games or yahoo messenger?

  • nope, it does not have flash and it can not instal flash.

  • @calai618

this one won't run flash, but there are other 100 dollar netbooks that can.

The ones I know all uses Via VT8500 processors 300mhz 128mb ram. Search it, though it's unbranded so it doesn't really have a name.

  • can you give me a link? cuz i dont really know this kind of tech talk...thanx :D

  • they are all over ebay.

  • can it run limewire

  • nope. It's an ARM processor. It's can't run x86 applications.

  • Would this be able to play games such as maplestory splashfighters or others mmorpg?

  • nooooooo.

Maplestory needs at least 600mhz and 256mb ram (I tested it). Still on that, the FM would freeze my computer.

In other words, this is = to a desktop from 1998.

ARM (Acorn RISC Machine) processors will not run anything on your computer. Everything you see in front of your computer will NOT work.

The only thing it is good for is the stripped down version of MS Word, powerpoint, excell, media player, and most importantly the internet.

That is ALL it's good for. all else is useless.

  • his voice is so funny. I can't stop watching this vid.

  • "One of the first mobile computers to use ARM" LOL! What about the HP Jornada series that came out like 10 years ago. They had arm processors and ran Windows CE as well. This is old technology. Sure its a lot cheaper but it doesnt really boast much more for specs than the original Jornadas, mostly just newer ports.

  • does it play you tube

  • if someone put a newer version of Windows CE on the old Jornadas, they could probably do youtube. Because the os on those things is so old that its pretty much useless for anything modern.

  • what about the Packard Bell's EasyNote XS?

  • @1poptart36: It depends. Some of them come with a "youtube player" that plays youtube videos in a seperate media player. Also, kinda funny, I named my netbook "poptart" =P

  • Does this one have wifi? Can you run standard windows CE programs? Does the web browser run youtube? Java script? Java VM?

Does it sync with the pc like others windows CE machines?

  • Can you install Google Chrome OS? =)

  • Hi there, when you opened (what it looked like) was word viewer. I thought you couldn't type any thing in to it or save it. But only view a word document. I this true?

  • Cheap, but too underpowered. An nokia internet tablet is way faster and runs maemo. You can find an used N800 cheaper than this. This seems to be an 266mhz ARM9! Look at how much time it takes to load google webpage!

  • Urgh... put something other than Windows on it

  • when is the smartbook gonna release in the u.s.? if so whats the release date?

    your friend,

    Marmolejo

  • for $78 it's not too bad
