I'd say I display some characteristics of all of them, but my main strengths are: 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 10, 12, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, and 23. The first three are my best!
I have a ways to go in treatment/recovery in order to feel most of these strengths as truth and with confidence but there were some I could somewhat relate and a few I could totally relate to: 2, 9, 10, 12, 16, 17, 18, 20.
I'm a courios, kind, loving, brave yet cautious person who TRYS to have hope and always persevears. I am passionate about what i beleive though i am open minded about other people. I like to help an share my experiences. I have a sarcastic sence of humor....and i thought i was modest but after this maybe not! haha
What a great idea, totally. Was a good start in the day for me :)
I wrote everything down and I agreed with more than I thought: I'm curious, learn & experiment new things which leads to my critical&open view as well as originality. I am fair, every human being is equal, I appreciate beauty everywhere I see it (there's a LOT of it!)... I have hope and I am thankful for anything that happened to me, I always believe in the good and if I'm hurt, I forgive easily... (cont.)
I can be really funny sometimes (depends on my moodswings which I can totally NOT control) and I have a lot of passion, for music, words, people, feelings etc!
I may not be perfect, but I am strong because I know my weakness.
Great stuff Kit; now we're getting down to details! I strongly believe that we become anorexic to hide from a world that seems to stressful or frightening. By absorbing our time obsessing over our bodies, counting calories and being preoccupied with controlling these things we are able to withdraw from the stresses of growing up and living in a pressured environment. In effect, we create our own mini-world. I only recognised this during recovery (cont)..
As I have gained weight and had therapy I have realised that the hardest thing has been integrating myself into the wider world. My fears are not really about weight, but about coping with life and relationships. Research has shown that people who develop anorexia have a certain personality type. We are worriers, perfectionists and we focus on detail, failing to see the 'bigger picture' (of life). We have skills, but they're wrongly directed. We need to accept ourselves for what we are.
I wish to highlight some things. There seems to be a repeat of number 11.
