Considering those old foundations, you might want to have that spring checked for arsenic levels and other contaminants. I'm thinking old mining district.
I have seen many places like this in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado. Oooops!! I've explored some with my grandkids and they can't believe people used to live out in the country like that. Times sure have changed, haven't they??

What a fantastic bug out spot. Let's hope you don't have to use it but...I am doubting it very much. I believe something is going to happen soon.
