by the way swaq, although this is not about the prophet saw as a person, it IS about his city, thus, the INTENTIONS behind the song is not to sing aboout just any city, but the city of the Rasul Allah sallalahu alayhi wasalaam so I guess this WOULD be a nasheed, using your definition of what a nasheed is :D

A Nasheed is not necessarily about the Prophet Muhamma Pbuh. A Nasheed is a (Vocal song) i.e without haram instruments. Nasheeds can be abount ANYTHING from Hijab to Allah, and in fact they are. So thats another correction. A Song is anything SUNG, and a song may or may not have instruments. Music terminology should be properly applied here, as everything else should be applied, where ever it applies. salam alaykum
